Very good service, friendly staff, very nice relaxed atmosphere to match Chiang Mai. I loved the stay. Staff don't disturb you if you use the DND button. The only section that needs improvement is the front door, you need an automatic button on the door asap. From around 12pm to 7pm the door is locked and you need to call a number to open the door. Other than this, the stay was amazing.

The counter staff are very friendly, have good service attitude, and can speak English! He enthusiastically recommends interesting attractions and is happy to help call a taxi. The location of the hotel is also very convenient~~~

The room is very good, not too wide, not too small. We booked a connecting room and went with 4 friends so we would be connected. It felt like we were sleeping together. Because during that time, rooms that could accommodate 4 people were very rare. This place really answers the question. Walking to Nimman is convenient. There is definitely a chance to go back and stay again.

This is a review after 19 night stay at The Hive Chiang Mai, Thailand. 1) An essential piece of information to know is that the Hive locks its main doors from 22:00 to 8:00, and guests must have phone/cell service to dial the phone number to unlock the door so they can enter/leave the building during this period. This is hugely inconvenient for people who do not have access to a cell phone. The hotel does provide a temporary phone to guests who need it. The one I was given didn't work until they installed a new sim card. Because of the hotel’s uncaring attitude, I was trapped inside the hotel and almost missed my day tour. No apology from the hotel!! 2) Housekeeping at the Hive is extremely unsatisfactory. I wrote several notes requesting housekeeping and gave them directly to the front desk, two of which were ignored and I did not receive the services requested. Three times, I had to bring used towels to the front desk and ask for clean ones. Once, I had to catch the housekeeping crew for clean towels, bath mat and tissue paper after realizing they skipped my unit altogether. 3) Vital services are lacking. I had to leave the hotel at 7 am on my check-out day and I asked the hotel to arrange a taxi for me to the train station. Hotel staff perused a note of my request, but they never confirmed or notified me it was done and so I ended up making my own arrangements. 4) Room amenities at the Hive are very poor. There is no desk to work at or put a computer, so I had to sit on the bed to work. There was also no bedside table with a lamp, so I had to leave the entrance light on while sleeping in case I needed to get up and move around at night, which was very bright. Overall, I was extremely unsatisfied and disappointed with my stay at the Hive. The staff was extremely unhelpful and seemed to have very little concern about the quality of services they provided. I would not recommend the Hive Chiang Mai to anyone. I was totally happy that I could get out of the Hive Chiang Mai Hotel after 19 night stay – it was a very distasteful experience. I don’t recommend the Hive Chiang Mai Hotel to anybody.
Response from Property: We feel sorry for her to have been left alone to take advengerous daily life with very limited level of communicable spoken English, which is surprisingly different from her writing skill. We were having hard time to explain anything to her. She should end up with a nursing home rather than with a hotel alone having her daughter ,who is supposed to take care of her, staying in the apartment across the street. The mother and daughter ever disputing on some very simple issue in front of us for her stubbornly demands. For example, the issue of transferring to the train station at 7am on her departure. Her daughter agreed to arrange the pick-up during the meeting but now, she blamed on us For the issue of automatically lock up of the door during the night , we see no issue as it is normal practice to many city hotel world wide as long as the guest can easily access the unlocking, in this case, thru a basic GSM phone call ( not necessarily a smart phone). We see to it that almost all traveller world wide have at least a mobile phone, nevertheless, we do provide a simple GSM phone for those who don't have a phone. It worked fine for every one except her when she come to us with the used up of the money in the Sim which are prepaid for the use of unlocking the door rather than for other local calls which is not what it has been provided for. For the issue of working table in that compacted size room, it is the design and cost of that room type for those who do not require serious writing. Nonetheless a bigger size room with higher price is available with complete chair and table for the options- she chose to take a cheaper one. The problem with the cleaning of her room was ,to my knowledge, the misunderstanding of the maid due to her spoken English. I believe that she was enjoying the handicapped travelling with the cost of the others

Stayed here for a week, was booked by a friend near to their home. A really nice, small modern hotel, small but comfortable room, good aircon, plenty of hot water, quiet location, but just one or two things which could be improved, No desk or chair in the room, essentiasl these days for laptops etc, no bedside lights & no convenient switch near the bed so tread carefully in the dark after turning off the main light switch by the door. Friendly staff, convenient neighbourhood, breakfast available but no restaurant.
