If you’re traveling to Chicago and want to stay in a neighborhood rather than downtown, The Robey in Wicker Park is an excellent choice. Beautiful old building that has been restored to a lovely modern hotel. We received a nice corner room upgrade upon (early) check in. Our room is smallish but lovely. The air conditioning is kicking and the shower water pressure is excellent! Three dining options on site…a brunch all day place, a 90’s inspired bar/restaurant and a cabana club by the pool. The outdoor rooftop pool is small but just enough to cool off. Everyone has been friendly and helpful and it’s just been a great stay overall. Highly recommend!

I stayed at The Robey 2 nights, and I held a 1.5-day meeting in the boardroom. Everyone who attended was happy with the venue. PROS - Ellie, my Sales contact, was always helpful and responsive - The boardroom is reasonably priced, and much more conducive small meetings than your typical meeting room. Intimate - The boardroom pricing was reasonable, and there was no food and beverage minimum. There's a built-in screen for projection, and natural light in the room - It's located in Wicker Park, an upscale neighborhood, which is much more convenient than being downtown, and dealing with the traffic in and out of it. There are plenty of outdoor restaurants within walking distance, and nice houses to check out - The hotel is a 3-minute walk from the Blue Line (which goes to O'Hare) - The restaurant food is better-than-average. (I recommend the avocado toast and the beet salad) - Interesting architectural details throughout the property - Rooftop deck with amazing views - Strong WiFi - Small and personal property CONS - No blankets on the bed (I don't understand this hospitality trend) - Small rooms (tabletop ironing board is all that fits) - Mandatory resort fee for benefits you'll never use

A very old hotel and it shows. Rooms are small and sparse, especially for the rate. They are very clean, however. The front desk were very unhelpful and refused to accommodate simple requests like keeping 1 of 3 rooms for an additional 2 hours due to our late departure.

This hotel and neighborhood are the perfect destination for travelers who have already seen all the typical Mag Mile sights and are ready to explore the Chicago neighborhoods! The Robey in Bucktown is a fantastic boutique hotel with tons of character, great amenities, and walkable to lots of great dining and shopping! We LOVED BarTaco which is just around the corner! We also took a fun walk to the historic icon Margie’s Candies for a delicious ice cream sundae afterward. The Robey’s rooftop views are spectacular!

Just and old, but remodeled, cool hotel. Rooftop is a great experience. Not often i can say hotels are fun, but this one definitely is. Service is amazing and all hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the experience. Its Chicago at its best.

Trendy hotel, great staff and customer service, nice room. Worst night’s sleep EVERRR due to the fact that there was no way to regulate the room temperature. Even though we had the thermostat set to the lowest setting, our room temperature averaged 80 degrees. We could’ve opened the window, but street noise was loud. Unfortunately probably won’t stay here next time.

The Robey is nice. Definitely quirky. Absolutely very loud, and full of young adults. The floors are pretty dirty (at least in our room), everything else appears clean enough. It’s more of a $100-150 price, not the $400 price tag. The Coyote lounge was under my room, if that tells you how loud it is. I even used their sound machine, along with another I went and bought. . Adding to the constant bass, and subway (), were the group of ten girls spaced out along the hall we were in. Including, their ding dong ditch of our room early in the morning. ‍♀️. This is more along the lines of the sorority that I used to live in, and maybe the dorm at Ferris when the alibi was still alive. Granted, I wasn’t expecting a ton of sleep since we were there with friends to attend the Natalie Jane concert at the subterranean. I just expected it to be at least as nice as our $300 concierge level Westin stay downtown. Which we ended up going back the following day. .

This hotel is wonderful. It's reasonably priced and you get a nice room with several amenities (robe, slippers, fridge, coffee maker, shampoo, and body lotion from high-end vendor, nice quality sheets and towels). I appreciated the black-out shades and sound machine. Both worked well. This is a safe neighborhood with lots of shops, restaurants, etc. within walking distance and the hotel is located next to subway stop. I went to Cafe Robey twice - it's popular so I recommend a reservation (just in case). They were booked for Saturday brunch and a spot called Yolk - Test Kitchen (~10 minute walk) was suggested - it was excellent! I'll definitely stay here again.

Exactly what I want in a hotel: great design, chill and effective service, decent restaurant with full room service. Would be five stars, but there was banging from within the hotel all evening on both nights. I think a mechanical system someplace needs additional soundproofing or fine-tuning. The L can be heard, but it's mild and the room has a white noise speaker. This regards room 3009 in the annex.
