Futsukaichi Hot Spring - Daimaru Besso

It was very convenient having a staff member who spoke Korean, and the food was excellent. As for the location, we took a taxi from the airport, and it cost around 5,000 yen! I’d recommend this place if you want to enjoy a ryokan experience without going all the way to Yufuin. However, there are a lot of mosquitoes in the garden~!!

The hotel is over 100 years old, and the hot springs are even older, dating back more than 1000 years. Many of the service staff are elderly, polite and attentive. The facilities are a bit dated, but well-maintained and clean. The most surprising part was the dinner and breakfast included with the hotel stay – truly stunning, exquisite, and delicious. The hotel wasn't crowded, mainly catering to local families. It was a really pleasant hot spring experience.

The staff were incredibly friendly. The onsen, tatami room, garden, dinner, and breakfast were all excellent. Everything was perfect. I want to go back again.

Close to the airport and the staff are really friendly ㅠㅠ It's over 100 years old but very well maintained, and the room is spacious with great water pressure haha. Had a good rest here!

My girlfriend has all the photos, haha. This onsen ryokan is absolutely beautiful. One of the older front desk staff members is Japanese and has been studying Chinese for 30 years, so communicating in Mandarin was absolutely no problem. The room was very clean with no old smells, and the decor and maintenance were excellent. The room had direct access to the garden outside. The onsen was incredibly comfortable; after soaking, my skin felt instantly smooth. It's worth mentioning that the sandalwood incense used in the room smelled wonderful. The ingredients for the food were very fresh, I'd give the food an 8/10. Overall, it definitely lives up to its reputation, even having hosted a celebrity in the past.

I enjoyed the hot springs and had a relaxing time soaking in the atmosphere of Japan.

The hot spring was very comfortable, and the room was spacious. The service was excellent. There's a Don Quijote and a convenience store just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. However, you'll definitely need a taxi to get around. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

A decent Japanese onsen hotel. The hotel environment is quite rustic, and the staff provide good service. If you're coming by public transport, it might be a bit difficult to navigate with luggage.

A century-old ryokan where the Emperor once stayed. The breakfast was excellent, and the kaiseki dinner was delicious. The rooms were also very clean, and the service was superb. There were 5 of us, and we booked 2 rooms, specifically so the children could experience the traditional Japanese ryokan style!
