Overall a good stay. On the positive side, We found that our hotel room was maintained very clean! The facilities and grounds were just ok. The breakfast was excellent! The drinks at the hotel bar were not very good and during our stay we found it impossible to get chocolate ice cream… also a tip.. if you wish to find a sunbed at the pool then you shouldn’t hand in the towels and wake up early to go and reserve your place!!

Overall it was a nice hotel with a good pool and the food was tasty. We were bed and breakfast and decided to eat in the main restaurant (katoi) for one of the nights. On the large restaurant booking screens we saw there was an a la carte menu with lots of reasonably priced meals (circa €15) so planned to have this. When we turned up they said there was only the buffet available (€33) which was quite expensive, but we couldn’t go anywhere else in the hotel as it all needed pre booking. The staff had never heard of this menu. When we checked in with our toddler we were hoping there would be a cot in the room already. There wasn’t so we called for one, which we were told would be right there. An hour later nothing had turned up, so we rang again and were told it would be there after we returned from dinner. When we got back there was a bed being set up which was totally unsuitable. We had to ring again by which time it was ages after her bedtime.

It was a beautiful hotel with a beautiful room until our first night when we went in to the room and found a cockroach. Next morning we told them but they didn’t anything even they didn’t apologise. And the other negative is that the light in the room is not enough for doing a simple make up. I didn’t see any thing in the mirror. And was my first time ever I asked for the key for the refrigerator. Never happened to me in any hotel I went all this years.

Azia Hotel was a wonderful hotel, very clean, neat and the ladies at the reception and spa were very friendly, kind and helpful. The Nepalese chief was incredible too. The entertainment was tacky and inappropriate (fire show man asking ladies to sit on him; front & back) and the music was too loud. We are definitely coming back to enjoy a chilled weekend away. The views from our bedroom were incredible too. Hopefully with better entertainment.

So I’m currently sat writing this on my balcony 9 nights in to a 10 night stay here by at the Azia. When we arrived we were given a room upgrade which was lovely and had a jacuzzi bath in the bathroom and all the little added extras which was much appreciated. I emailed the hotel before hand to say it was our anniversary and we had a bottle of wine left with a little card which was a nice touch. The view from our room (445) was stunning! Our rooms were always cleaned to a high standard and the hotel itself was spotless. The hotel and the grounds are beautiful. The pool is massive and not too cold and has a good atmosphere. I can’t comment on the adults only pool as we didn’t venture round there but it looked lovely from our balcony. A few people moaned about the lack of a beach but that didn’t bother us as we aren’t beach people. The one thing that makes this place what it is, is the amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they all go out of their way to help. Massive shout out to Charlie on reception for always giving us tips on where to go and just being beyond helpful and always happy to chat. The entertainment guys we met Anna and Christianos were fantastic. Always making an effort coming to chat to us during the day and in the evening. These guys don’t stop and don’t get enough credit for what they do. Alex, Roulla, Iraklis (apologies if I’ve spelt names wrong) and the other pool bar guys are a credit to the hotel and always remembered our orders and were always helpful. Shout out to Leo to who had just started there and did a fab job! The cocktails were always good and there’s so much to choose from. The food here is lovely our favourite place to eat was the Tree Deck as we saw a beautiful sunset whilst eating a traditional Cypriot Mezze dinner. The buffet has everything for everyone. The only issue we had was when flights were delayed and over 100 people got placed at the hotel with no warning to paying guests…it was like a zoo at dinner time with people taking bites of food and putting it back, dipping fingers in sauces and kids running round everywhere screaming. Being shoved out the way whilst trying to plate up food was not ideal so we gave up trying to eat and went back to the room at 7:45. You could not move round the pool during the day let alone get a sunbed. I appreciate this is not the staff’s fault and we felt so sorry for them being rushed off their feet. It just put a bit of a downer on the time we had had as the rest of it had been perfect and we had paid so much to stay here. Overall we would most definitely come back here as we have had a lovely time and I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a relaxing break. Thanks for having us Azia.
