Yes, the room is a little dated but it's very well priced so not an issue. Booked the room via booking.com ... but first rang the lodge to see if they could match the rate so they'd get all the income. However, they wouldn't ... go figure. Stayed five nights at the last minute (husband suddenly in hospital). No weddings on so parking was easy. Gardens are quite lovely and at night they're very pretty with fairy lights. I was really comfortable, felt safe, had plenty of space to move and put my gear, car park right outside, quiet spot (amazingly) and good snoozy bed. Loved being able to watch TV from a sofa (rather than a bed) and I used the desk to draw or use my laptop. Also had a spacious bench to make breakfast or snacks. Getting in and out of the motel onto the main road was easy (school hols so roads are much less crowded). It's a solid half hour walk to the nearest train station and a pleasant (although somewhat noisy) stroll. There's also a bus along Middleborough Rd going to Box Hill station which would be worth looking at . However I worked out where to park close by Laburnum station without paying, so was relatively easy to get into the city and back without needing to take out a parking mortgage. Reception staff pleasant. Didn't use breakfast facilities, air conditioning or wifi, not that I was provided with a password. Every time I needed access, it was after reception closed so gave up. Definitely stay here again when we need accommodation in the east. Was very happy. Keep your expectations realistic and you'll be fine.
The room was clean. However there was no microwave and no plates or cutlery. The bathroom needs a working exhaust fan. The queen bed had only two pillows with one extra in the cupboard. The pillows were very flat and each person really needed two pillows. It was quite hot and we would have loved to sit by the pool but there was no shade. However we heard no road noise and enjoyed pleasant sleep.
I stayed in the appartments across the road for a work course. I arrived at 8am just to leave my car for the day (pre arranged) and my room was ready so I checked in. From the moment I checked in I had no issues. The lady at reception was friendly and said they upgraded me to a 2 bedroom apartment, although I was by myself I didn’t mind. Very spacious and clean. Car parking was great! Wifi was good. The bed was comfortable. The only suggestion would be a small TV in the bedroom would be good. Overall the 3 nights were great for what I needed, I would definitely stay again.

This property definitely has some positives. The price is cheap for an apartment and it's very close to Box Hill Central and pretty close to Box Hill Hospital. The staff were able to get us in to our room early which was also very handy. The negatives, the amenities feel cheap, the double bed was made up of 2 single mattresses pushed together, and the mattresses were very thin. The couch was the same it just felt cheap and poor quality. The other negative with this property was the odor in the corridor which smelt like a mixture of cigarettes and stale cooking smells, although within the apartment we were in there was no odor so that was a positive. If you need somewhere for a short stay in and around Box Hill this property is quite ok, but be realistic about what you are expecting at the price point
The room is fully equipped with electric stove and microwave for simple cooking. There is also a laundry room for guests to wash and dry clothes. Unfortunately, the soundproofing is poor and you can hear the residents in the neighboring rooms talking. Fortunately, the residents were considerate of each other and did not cause any noise.
Location: The Box Hill area where the hotel is located is a gathering place for Chinese people, so you can fully experience life in China. The hotel is located at the Box Hill subway entrance. It is very convenient to go out and reach many supermarkets around the hotel, as well as many Chinese restaurants and Chinese supermarkets, which are very convenient for purchasing.
Facilities: The room has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the facilities are also very new. It is worth mentioning that the stove is actually natural gas, which is very suitable for making Chinese food. It is equipped with a complete washing machine, dryer, kitchenware and toiletries. The room is located on a high floor with a very good view. Although it was windy in Melbourne during the stay, the noise was acceptable after the bottom of the door was blocked with a wet towel. The room has a balcony and windows, and the ventilation and lighting are very good.
Service: To be honest, the hotel is an apartment residence. There is no so-called front desk service, and the front desk's working hours are also very accurate. As a result, the front desk cannot be contacted at night, so there is no more expectation for the service.
Overall, the hotel is very cost-effective, especially suitable for family living, because there are two bedrooms. However, the hotel is indeed far from the city, and the subway can be reached in about 40 minutes. The stability of the apartment network is very general, so it will be inconvenient for business trips.
This is a well maintained , modern and clean place to stay , with great staff, who were friendly and helpful . Our suite was well equipped , quiet , clean and comfortable . A nice kitchen , 2 TV’s and 2 bathrooms . Comfortable lounge area , a roomy balcony with great views . (Was cold so we did not spend much time out there !) The pool and spa look great - did not use them , was cold and we were busy . Car parking is secure and it was easy to get to our room via the lift . Well placed , close to Box Hill facilities . We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was . We will be back !
Very nice location, I felt like it was very good pricing. They do make up the room every other day, so just need to be prepared for that. Pretty good amenities.
The lack of an established pick up/drop off point will be a little awkward. But otherwise I like the place.
Stayed here for a business trip. Has been a great place to stay, nice English/European traditional decor and furniture, very clean room near to everything. Room has all the amenities: iron, ironing board, hair dryer, lots of towels, chairs, table, desk, arm chair, comfortable bedding and pillows, air conditioning, free wifi. Function rooms look great. Near shopping centres and restaurants
