Little bit dated. Booked through Qantas Hotels and somehow was upgraded. ( No requested room available? do not know.) Water shower deluge head is great. Plenty of towels washers etc. The body wash and shampoo bottles are squeeze to actuate, sounds simple doesn't it? Mattress very comfy. Pillow a little firm for me but I did have the choice of 5! You get a kettle and that's it. Fridge opens one way, cupboard door opens opposite way. Not user friendly. Mis mash of cups. No knife or fork. Had to book for a couple of nights the next week but was an extra 50 an night. Thought that was a bit unnecessary for a returning client booking the same room. We had two windy nights and the sliding door widows rattling was enough to keep you awake. Need to be wedged. Location to town. Excellent, walking distance.

Fabulous room. Large and comfortable with a massive bathroom. Plenty of room to have your toiletries out. Very comfortable bed and pillows. We had a corner room and would request this again on our next stay. Breakfast included in our stay was one the best buffet breakfast we have had. Staff friendly and efficient. No on-site parking but valet parking available. Excellent stay.

Hobart City Apartments is located right in the downtown shopping district of the city. You don't stay there for the view, but you are in the thick of things and still only a 12 minute walk to the harbor for endless choices of restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. With notice and availability, they offer underground parking for $20.00 a night. Otherwise, there is night street parking and a couple of lots close by. Though this review focusses specifically on the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom penthouse apartment where we spent 6 nights, 3 of us first spent 1 night in two large single rooms, while awaiting availability of the Penthouse apartment. Each large room included a king bed, with end tables and lamps, a wall mounted TV, and a seating area, plus a good sized bathroom with large walk in shower. These 1 bedroom units include a small kitchen with a mini fridge, and stove top, microwave and dishwasher. Suffice to say that both the single units and the Penthouse we stayed in, are beautifully and relatively recently decorated, and very comfortable. The Penthouse apartments are large and feel quite new, like the single units. Similarly they are well appointed, and nicely decorated, with lots of light. The upstairs consists of one bedroom, with a king bed, end tables, table lamps and a wall mounted TV, plus an ensuite bathroom. The bedroom space is tight which of course, can't be helped, and so there's minimal drawer storage though enough if you plan it out well. There's a wide, deep ledge in front of the window, so one of us used that to lay out clothes, and toiletries, while the other used the shelves in the closet and though we needed more hangers, there was enough hanging space for 2 of us. The suites are relatively new so having what felt like new bathrooms was a bonus. The upstairs bathroom has no counter space but under counter storage, a large shower and it's well designed. There is no door at the top of the stairs into that bedroom/bathroom, so if privacy is an issue, be prepared. The main floor houses a small kitchen, with a microwave, full fridge and stove, flat cooktop, plus dishwasher and just enough plates, cups, glasses and utensils to get by. Don't plan on cooking a big meal though. It's best for breakfast, and serving up take-away. The adjacent living space had a large, 'pleather' (ie: looks like but isn't leather) couch and matching chair and the flat screen TV is mounted on the wall beneath a media unit, and across from the couch so it's a pleasant place to sit. Behind the occasional chair, is a small dining table, seating 6, then a sliding door, and screen out to a large but unfurnished patio. It would be nice to offer up 4 outdoor chairs and a couple of small side tables to enjoy a cocktail. The 2nd bedroom on the main floor, is larger than the upstairs, and houses a Queen size bed, end tables, with lights, and a closet. There is no TV in that room; something else they should add. The 2nd, large bathroom is across f

Our party had two separate rooms & both were impeccable. Large comfy beds, huge fluffy pillows, great bathrooms & well heated. This is a boutique hotel & the decor is quirky not dated. Breakfast was superb. The staff are young but next level in the service we were afforded. Had handed hire car back before drying in Hobart for the weekend, so parking not required. Walk to Salamanca Markets or into town for shopping. Will stay here again & definitely recommend.

The room is clean and well-organized, with all the basic amenities provided. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean with hot water available, and the air conditioning works well. There are no issues with noise, making it a great choice for those who spend most of their time outside and need a convenient place to rest and shower. The location is good and easily accessible, offering great value for the price.

A great 5 night stay in the center of Hobart. It exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable clean rooms, good bedding and with good internet access. Importantly one of the few hotels in Hobart with its own parking. It is limited so you have to make reservations prior to your arrival , but then your place is guaranteed. The $20 charge is very reasonable and you can come and go as you please knowing that you will be able to park. The location is hard to beat an easy walk to restaurants , pubs, shops , constitution dock and the Salimanca markets. On top of this the staff were pretty special and made our stay very pleasant. I followed some of their recommendations and was not disappointed. Good coffee comes to mind from one helpful lady when I asked. A stay in the center of Hobart does not come cheap, but I found their price for a stay very acceptable in comparison to other hotels. A glowing report to say the least , but they surprised me with the quality of our stay and helped us very much enjoy Hobart. Thoroughly recommended. Would stay again in a shot when revisiting Hobart. Our previous stay in Hobart was 44 years ago for our honeymoon. Thanks Allurity Pete and Claire

Clean and warm, with a historical and emotional hotel, the layout is very warm, the crafts are either left by the boss's parents or the boss's own collection, some of them are especially oriental, the boss John is very good, the kitchen downstairs eats casually There are a variety of locally produced honey jams. If you like Western breakfast, you will be more enjoyable. The location is very good and all can be reached on foot. Parking is also very convenient, the backyard will do.

Kevin is the best host EVER. So helpful and cooks a good breakfast just how you like it, with good coffee. When we arrived late he give us instructions to enter the property, my first impression wasn’t that great to be honest , with over grown bushes and dated hallways but on entering our room was big and spacious and clean. Had 3 great nights sleep bed is so comfortable and dreamy pillows. Bathroom a little dated but spacious and clean. Also a kitchen and dining area you can use which is great. Only a short walk into town so great location. Overall great stay for the price.

I went to Tasmania for a few days from Sydney, because I especially chose to go to the market on Saturday to choose this hotel. The whole is very fond of, the opening of the window is the port, the scenery is really beautiful, the blue sky and the white clouds can see people drinking coffee very comfortable, the room is also very large, relatively clean, this hotel is below the bar, but our room is inside So it’s not noisy. The market on Saturday will be able to arrive in two or three minutes. The breakfast in the morning is very delicious. I like it overall, but the door in the room is unlocked and there is no safety chain. What makes me depressed is that the door key of my room can open the access door on the second floor of the lobby staircase. Is it possible for all the keys of the guest who can open the outer door of the second floor to open my door lock? ?

GGuest UserSuch a beautiful location for the hotel
The staff is amazing with top class facilities
The mountain view room was perfect for the trip
GGuest UserHad a recent stay for 3 nights and found it really enjoyable. After a little confusion with parking the car due to street it is located on being a bus thoroughfare, valet parking was prompt and we found we didn't need to get car out again. Great location in the centre of town and easy walking to everything Hobart has to offer. Rooms were very clean, although a little small, bathroom was a generous size although water did flood floor when showering. Did have to order another pillow as ones in room were rock hard. Breakfast was very yummy and buffet option that was offered had more than enough to satisfy. Gym was small with just enough equipment to do a workout. The Chocolate Hour was a bit of a letdown, not what we expected, but still another point of difference. All in all, a really nice stay and we'll certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

GGuest UserStayed 2 nights at Ibis Styles Hobart. The hotel is strategically located in the city centre, near to Salamanca Place and the shopping streets in town. The hotel boasts a nice lap pool, a gym and some coin operated laundrette. Love the Chinese Restaurant at the lobby area, served some of the flavourful Chinese dishes cooked to perfection. The room is compact but nicely decorated. The water pressure at the shower stall certainly will give you the invigorating boost. Parking facilities are available but chargeable at AUD 23 for the overnight parking, slightly cheaper if you opt for the overflow carpark behind the hotel. Breakfast is served at the Chinese Restaurant but not a single Chinese dishes for breakfast, what an irony! In my opinion, should have at least Fried Rice or Noodles as one of the dishes since there are lots of Asians staying at this property. If they do, I will certainly give them another STAR. Generally, it is a great and comfortable stay!

YYuanGood location. Close to both CBD and Sandy Bay. The kitchenette is very convenient. There was an electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, pots and pans and knives and forks, but no chopsticks. Free internet. Front desk closes at 9 pm, but you can enter and exit multiple doors at anytime with your room card. Free parking space. Luggage storage is available. Let us check in at 12 noon. For sleeping, there is a powerful air conditioner, but only two thin blankets and the mattress is too soft. A$6 for continental breakfast, but you have to fill out a form to order. A$6 for both washing machine or dryer. Free laundry powder or liquid. Wellington Mountain and a corner view of the ocean from your room!

WWoshixiaohuanxiongI stayed here for three days and felt that I didn’t have enough. I found it the most comfortable place to stay among all the hotels in Tasmania. It is indeed the capital of Tasmania. First of all, the location is excellent. You can see the port from the room. Turn right after exiting the lobby. Behind the hotel is the Salamanca Saturday Market, but they start closing their stalls at 3 p.m. Please take advantage of the time and take a look. Everything inside is more expensive than outside, especially the food. The breakfast at the hotel is top-notch. I have never had such a rich and delicious breakfast anywhere: free cherries, free smoked salmon, free artichokes in oil, a variety of fresh vegetable salads, adzuki beans, and accompaniments. There are two kinds of eggplants, and in the next few days there will be strawberries, wild mushrooms fried in butter, ice sparkling water, fresh fruit milkshakes, healthy and fresh. Of course, you can also order a variety of coffee and an omelette (there is a menu). What is dramatic is that almost all rooms in the hotel cannot open windows, which is very disadvantageous for people like me who absolutely need fresh air. Later, with the intention of giving it a try, I asked the hotel to provide a room with windows. The hotel actually agreed and moved me directly to the hotel's rooftop balcony. . . You don’t have to do it yourself. The hotel staff will help you move your luggage to the new room, but you have to pay the difference of 50 Australian dollars (worth it). You can see the history of the hotel. The roof was built in 1920. I lived on the roof! It feels very warm. After comparing, I realized that their service is really good. Oh, by the way, the airport bus comes and gets off at the second stop, and it's only a few minutes' walk away.

The hotel is very green, which fits with Tasmania's overall conservation ethis - which is great. It is a very comfortable and new hotel. The beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable and luxurious. The restaurant/ room service food was delicious and well priced. The room was very clean and well serviced . The bathroom had a walk-in shower with both rain and normal shower heads. The gym and pool area was excellent and clean. The only downsides that I would mention was the variance in staff..some were really amazing and so friendly and helpful, but there were one or two on the front desk who barely smiled and didn't make any effort to welcome guests. However, the doorman, head concierge, and supervisor were amazing and very professional. Also, the location is a fair way from Salamanca and the Harbour. It's not too bad, but if you have psychical limitations, it's something to consider. Also, it is a fair walk to get to restaurants. The rooms are quiet, but if you have someone in the next room, the soundproofing isn't that good, so you can hear other people. Overall, for a capital city, this is a value for money luxurious place to stay when in Hobart.

GGuest UserThis hotel met all our needs for the 3 night trip to Hobart. I would stay here again. It's centrally located to many things in town. The staff we met were all extremely nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfy. Bathroom is small, but its not like its a place where we spent a lot of time so it gets the job done. My two suggestions would be to add a shelf in the bathroom where one could place their stuff and add an overhead light so you could turn on the light when you came in the room. If you're a modest traveler who doesn't need a lot of frills or ton of space but looking for a clean and cozy place to spend the night, you'll like it just fine!

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel room is very large, the design must be beautiful, and the breakfast is also very delicious. It's a typical American breakfast. It's very good to have a menu to order according to your taste. The house has a sofa. It's very considerate to have a waiter come to the room to open the sofa and put it on. Beautiful surroundings of the hotel
For the best part, it was average. I had really bad trouble with the plumbing in my room - the plug hole gurgled all night, two nights in a row. I DID mention it to perception but was told ”it was probably because we were full, and everyone was probably using hot water at the same time” - no exchange of room or anything. My rubbish bin was left unemptied for 3 days. Also, the noise was really annoying in the foyer area, both mornings, and in the evening - my room was 3 doors from it - constant chat, doors opening and shutting etc - so was basically 3 nights of no sleep for me, Flipside, good location, but the windows in the room were way too high to even get a view, which the wall was facing. Disappointing experience all round.
