The star rating (and therefore room rates) for this hotel should be downgraded unless or until the renovations are completed. As other reviews state, there’s good and bad. The “good” is that my room was newly painted, new soft furnishings, clean bed linen and comfy new bed. The “bad” is in mid-winter In cold Melbourne, you can’t get away with having no hot water, or at best luke warm, despite running the tap for 10 minutes each morning of my 3 night stay. Further, there is no breakfast room (supposedly under renovation too). Also, attention to details such as removing rubbish, used bed linen etc from the passages and bins should be done promptly. The bathroom was probably “renovated” but tile grout and corners we’re still grubby, the towels were plentiful but old, yellowed and threadbare (chuck them and buy some fluffy new white or black ones). The coffee mugs still had the evaporated dregs of the previous user’s drink in them! Yuk. But boiling water in the kettle fixed that: but should I have been the one to do that? Overall it’s a disgrace to what it was 5 years ago when I stayed there. Not ever returning which is unfortunate because it is in a great location for university and city access, cafes, and recreational parks, and transport.
Overall, it was good. On the last night, there was a power outage in the room, and the front desk temporarily helped adjust the room. The location is near the University of Melbourne, very close. The medical department of the university is next door and is under construction, but it is very quiet at night. The park downstairs is huge and great. It’s still a bit cold in Melbourne at night, so you still need to bring long sleeves and long pants when you come over winter vacation.

Staff were lovely and very knowledgeable. Check in was a breeze. The buffet breakfast was lovely also with a great selection. Unfortunately the room was a huge letdown. Didn’t feel clean, and there was a large amount of mould in the bathroom area. Showers were very temperamental. Walls were thin - we were woken by our neighbours making a lot of noise. And could generally hear the conversations from next door. Lifts didn’t appear to be reliable- instead we opted for the stairs. Car parking was ok - and we secured one undercover. The gate to enter the larger outdoor carpark was interesting, sometimes it worked - others it didn’t - and I witnessed the boom gate hitting several cars. They did have a funny system where we needed to deposit a coin to exit the carpark (coin available from hotel reception). Felt very much like an old motel type accommodation. Probably the most least appealing Accor hotel we have stayed in.
We having wonderful experience during our 4 days stay in this apartment. The Apartment provided us almost everything we need from toiletries to comfortable bed and the staff Gorvett who show us around are very friendly and helpful to provided us information we need. The Apartment are well furnished and location are good and away from busy traffic but still nearby a tram stop that help us alot. There are restaurants, cafe and store nearby which is good for us also. We we definitely will come back again.

The Arden is a great value for money motel - being from country Vic having to stay in Melbourne for medical related purposes you are not usually in a position to be spending unnecessary money, the location is awesome & central, good ammenities of all kinds near by, I have stayed multiple times and have found the staff most helpful - don’t book expecting something your not paying the extra hundreds for - I have always found the rooms clean (1980’s styling, but I’m not looking for fancy - just convenience & comfort), you have secure parking and a reasonably quiet location, I’ll continue to book for my future needs!
One of our favourite places to stay in Melbourne. Clean, modern, 10 minute walk to the major hospitals, 10 minutes walk to trams that take you to Melbourne cbd. 10 minute walk to the lovely Errol St with abundance of cafes, restaurants, shops, iga etc. Lovely staff. Especially the lovely lady with the blonde hair. She is so welcoming, so friendly and helpful. Always makes our stay much more pleasant. She's definitely an aseest to an already fantastic accommodation. 5 star all the way. Our go to apartment complex when we come to the hospital. Thank you again for a fantastic stay.

This apartment is right next to the University of Mexico, and there is a section of Wei Ma, a sub-super, a local supermarket, etc., and shopping is extremely convenient. The main thing is that the room has an induction cooker, a microwave oven, and the apartment is also equipped with a variety of pots, including frying pans, three size cookers, three sets of dishes, cutlery, and stir-fry, etc., which is a few small rice bowls. Complete, I like it very much. If you want to cook for yourself, then the choice is really appropriate. The apartment room is very clean and tidy. Disadvantages, the room is small, only suitable for 1-2 people, remember.
