Port Macquarie is a clean, historical town and located on the coast – and so are these apartments which are also spacious albeit lacking any finer touches like pictures or cushions. The kitchen is a little dated, despite being upgraded in 2015, but still works well. The views are lovely (don’t be put off by the caravan park which is right below). There is a lovely swimming pool that is bathed in sunshine until almost sunset. Easy walking distance to the main streets and secure (free) car parking. Great.

The hotel location is good, the facilities are complete, clean and tidy, and the rooms are large. Google Maps seems to be set too inaccurately. The navigation suddenly ran to a barren place. Fortunately, I finally found it. Departing from Sydney, it was late, and it was already midnight. We greeted the front desk in advance and said that we would arrive later. The front desk said that it was okay to leave the room door unlocked and put the keys on the table in the store. When I went to the room, the door was locked, and I went to find the front desk staff (not the person who answered my phone during the day was a Chinese man). He was already asleep. When I woke him up, he was very upset and scolded him to find The key, even said, ”This is not China, we do not accept overnight stays, and leave before 10 am”.
My fellow citizens, we should feel lucky to meet Chinese people in other countries. Foreigners respect us Chinese people, but Chinese people bully Chinese people instead. Then go to Macquarie, Australia to bypass this shop. The feeling of being insulted by foreign Chinese is really uncomfortable.
Comfortable well priced clean, accommodation, very happy with our experience central location. We had a glimpse of water views walking distance to shops, and the water. Friendly staff. Cannot fault our experience. On-site parking. Will be back . Thanks Connie
I was pretty disappointed with our stay here given their rather high prices and after reading all these wonderful reviews on Tripadvisor. I have stayed in Best Western hotels all over the world and were always been impressed. This hotel (motel) is rated 4 stars except I don't see what is 4 stars about it? That it has a pool and a restaurant? Neither of which we used. We could not use the pool as the water was not heated. In fact we never saw anybody ever using it during our entire 3 night stay there. . After looking at the photos again I think it really depends which room you get. Out of the 72 photos of theirs posted here only 2-3 show the old, unrenovated rooms with the brick walls (which we got). . Despite having stayed at many 3 star motels which had microwaves included, at this supposed 4 star motel I had to ask for one. They were nice enough to provide one so the service was good, but it did not come standard with our room (only the bigger, renovated, more expensive, non-brick wall rooms get them I guess). The photos on booking.com for their 'Executive Queen room' are completely misleading as we did not have a kitchen sink/benchtop, microwave, luggage rack/shelf, nor a desk. I will be notifying booking.com about this too. . Our room was very run down with mould in the shower, rust/chipping paint on the wall, and a towel rack which fell down on me while I was getting my towel off it as it was not securely properly. The plastic hook rack at the back of the door was broken and unusable, the carpet was worn at the edges, the sink tap heads had disgusting crap embedded in them, the hand rail at the bottom of the stairs outside our room had an end cap missing leaving a sharp metal edge protruding right around the height of our toddler... The shower area has absolutely nowhere to put our own shampoo bottles etc. There was only 1 roll of toilet paper provided for 2 adults staying 3 nights. . We had no outdoor space, table or chairs, and no drying racks to dry our swimwear and towels etc after going to the beach (which seems quite common for other motels/hotels located near the beach). . They do not clean every day (or at all until after we leave) and don't even take our the rubbish either. I had to ask specifically for them to come and collect our rubbish since we had dirty nappies in it. There are no bathrobes, slippers or in room safes supplied. No laundry facilities. No town maps provided. Again, I'm still baffled what warrants this 4 star rating? . Finally, the mattress moves/shakes so much.. every time my partner moved in the middle of the night it felt like there was an earthquake and he said the same of me (even though I'm far from being a big person). I would wake up every hour of the night. . The only overall good thing I can say is that the service was good and the place was clean, also that we were not given a roadside room which meant it was quieter.. but given the price (I guess we're partially paying for the upkeep of their pool
Leo & Jenelle would have to be the nicest & most accommodating hosts we have ever encountered, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. A huge jacuzzi over looking the fantastic water views went very well with our welcoming glass of bubbly on arrival. Our favourite part of the stay was the continental breakfast cooked by Leo, he takes great pride in he’s dishes & that shows in the quality of the food. Our stay was exceptional to say the least. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much.
South pacific apartments was an overall great place to relax and be beside the beach. Only being a few kms from shops was great. You are welcomed by friendly staff at the reception that give you instructions getting to your room. Our apartment was neat and tidy with a spacious living quarters, fully featured kitchen, premium bedding and a modern bathroom. It was fully featured with appliances including a laundry. Views out of the apartment were really nice, being able to see the ocean while eating breakfast out on the balcony was awesome. The place has a well maintained heated pool and spa perfect for relaxing in the winter months. There is parking provided in an underground parking space assigned to your room. There is a large walking path that runs along the beach from the main shops to the lighthouse that can be accessed directly in front of south pacific. There is no shortage of things to do in the Port Macquarie area during your stay, with many different shops and restaurants being accessible, and fun activities such as visiting billabong zoo, bago maze, or going on a water cruise or even horse riding and camel riding! Many vineyards are also in the area. I absolutely loved every part of my stay here at South Pacific apartments and will definitely be back in the future.
There are lots of motels to choose from in Port for when you just want to spend a night or two as you are travelling up/down the coast. This one is very well located - just across from the waterfront and around the corner from shops and restaurants. We chose the renovated room overlooking the canal which was very comfortable. This is not a ”park at your door” motel - you will be carrying your bags up from the underground carpark up a few flights of stairs. The pool is large and clean but in need of renovations - pool tiles are dropping off everywhere and the whole courtyard needs a re-tile. Still it was OK to cool off at the end of the day. The Korean/Japanese restaurant in front is a bit pricey but very nice - we enjoyed takeway bento boxes in our room one night. Probably the best thing about the motel is its location. Across the road you are on the waterfront promenade which is lovely to stroll along at any time of day, but especially at sunset. If you walk along the canal you will come to a large park and wetland boardwalk where you can see birds and a flying fox colony. I highly recommend this walk - brochures and a map are in the park.
Second time my wife and I have stayed at Beachcomber and won't be the last. First time in a studio apartment and second time in a two- bedroom apartment with second bedroom locked off. While both were great, we preferred the two-bedroom apartment as I wake up early and my wife sleeps in late so with a separate bedroom, can close bedroom door while watching TV in loungeroom. Resort in good location within walking distance of main town and beach and Port City Bowling Club. We stayed on ground floor both times as the resort doesn't have a lift and as I am in my 70s, I don't want to walk up and down too many stairs. Still stairs from garage to ground floor but okay. Only disadvantage of ground floor accommodation is no views. We would rather have less stairs than views. Younger people may prefer the views from higher floors. Big spacious, comfortable rooms. Full kitchen and full-size fridge in two-bedroom apartment. More than happy with the rooms. Great value for money deal at Beachcomber through Ocean Road Holidays.

MMissJoThe perfect location within walking distance to cafes and restaurants and views of the water. Very helpful staff and the pool facilities were excellent.
陈陈Very nice apartment, two-storey cottage, convenient parking, fully equipped kitchenware, good location, just a few minutes walk to the beach, only ten minutes by car to the nearby graffiti, and ten minutes to the supermarket.
GGuest UserHighly recommend staying here. Most things where perfect but there are couple of things I would like to say, the air conditioner had blocked filters, there was damage to a door where the fridge was and lastly the bathroom needs mechanical ventilation such as an exhaust fan, other than these had a perfect time at your place and would recommend anyone stay there.
GGuest UserStayed here for 2 nights with my wife - lovely! Good 4 star hotel - clean, well presented, everything worked. No USB ports, but a minor problem. Underground free car parking, lovely sun shelter covered rooftop pool (and gym / bbq facilities) with great view. Perfect location for exploring harbour / town centre, lovely walk into mangroves along the river, loads of restaurants about. Friendly staff. Great! Would happily stay again.
GGuest UserLocation was good, staff were friendly and helpful.
However the photos of the bathroom were misleading - the shower and toilet look spacious but were narrow in reality
My father was has a walker and there wasn't enough room for him to walk to the toilet.
There were no shower rails for support (they were actually towel rails).
So the place is not really disability friendly (though staff did provide shower chair).
The mattresses were also extremely soft - making it difficult to get out of bed.
GGuiceWhen you pass through Mai Kwok-li Port, if you stay for one night, there is a balcony at night to open and listen to the sound of the waves. If the curtains are not closed in the morning, you can also be awakened by the sun reflected by the sea.
A great home away from home. I have stayed at Aston Hill numerous times since December last year when my Mum went into Aged Care. Having a place to stay where I feel safe on my own is a big deal to me and my husband, especially when he is 300kms away on those occasions. The beds are so comfortable and the facilities are extremely convenient when needing to make a simple breakfast for myself. They even have breakfast packs available for only a few dollars. Annette has always been very friendly and easy to deal with. Aston Hill is also very close to restaurants and shops, making it one of the most convenient central accommodation available. So grateful I found this little comfy oasis in Port Macquarie.
拜拜科努尔熊廷弼The location of the hotel is particularly good, passing through a shopping mall is a beautiful seaside. The room given is facing the street, and I can't sleep at night. The facilities are a bit old. The decoration has a history of more than ten years and the area is not particularly large. There is a balcony that is great, although there is an air-conditioning outdoor unit on the balcony.
Nice little park. Cabin bunk beds won't win any comfort awards and we had to make the beds ourselves with the supplied sheets. There is a drain in bathroom floor which has no pipe - you can see the ground below and cold air flows in which i found odd. Shower head is only shoulder height, good pressure though. Sign in room indicates you must wash and dry dishes properly or face $50 feet but I wasn't supplied a tea towel, used a bath towel.
ZZHENGZIThe location is superior, the gate is just 1 minute from the seaside square to the seaside, the price is cheap, and the price/performance ratio is consistent.
We stayed for one night on the way back to Sydney from Bucun. We booked a triple room with indoor bathroom at RMB 779. The indoor facilities are outdated like domestic guest houses 20 years ago. The room is on the second floor, and there is a club on the first floor. We checked in on a Saturday, and basically couldn't sleep before midnight. Others are pretty good, and the service attitude is good.
