We booked to stay at the Hotel Chamade for a couple of nights in December as we wanted to visit the Christmas markets in Ghent and Bruges. The hotel is slightly outside the centre of Ghent (its about a 25 min walk) but very well located for the railway (a 5min walk) and has a tram stop right outside the main entrance. We arrived early but our room were ready so we were able to check in straight way. Our room was a decent size with a comfy double bed, practical bathroom with a decent shower and wall mounted TV. Breakfast is served on the top floor and so there are some good views across the City. There was plenty of choice of hot (eggs, sausage, bacon etc) & cold food (bread, croissants, cereal, meats, cheeses etc etc) and an option to make toast (an essential for us !). The only downside is that if your room is on the Kon. Elisabethlaan street side then there is noise from the tram stop which is immediately below a number of rooms. During our stay we dined at Du Progress (Ghent) which was good and at De Gastro (Bruges) which was excellent. We can also strongly recommend the De Halve Mann Brewery tour. The service from the staff whether it was at the front desk, housekeeping or at breakfast was very good. WiFi was also very good throughout the hotel. A really nice hotel and very conveniently located.

A nice hotel with friendly staff in a quiet location. Comfortable bed & a great rain shower. Although away from the centre of Ghent, you could walk it within 30 minutes or so or take one of the trams near the station. We were happy with our stay as we travelled from Brussels by train & visited Bruges then onto the Netherlands so it was an ideal location for the train station.

I stayed for a night as part of a business trip, primarily being attracted to the hot l because of the indoor swimming pool. The hotel was lovely, in a really nice area and had a really welcoming, relaxed feel. Check in was good and the receptionist really helpful, there was a small bar and we sat in the terrace with our drinks which was really pleasant. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great we made Bacon sandwiches which were really nice. I also used the pool for an early morning swim. The pool is small, but you can reserve it for your private use which is great. There is also a sauna. Overall this is a fantastic, privately owned, very reasonably priced boutique hotel with a lovely feel. I would recommend to anyone visiting Ghent and would love to stay again.

Pleasant modern aparthotel, an easy walk from Dampoort Station and about 25 minutes' pleasant walk from the central old town. Only 4 stars as our room did not have a microwave, which I understood was standard in all rooms. However, the room was at the rear, overlooking the garden area, and was very quiet. The breakfast included was excellent, far better than offered at the likes of Premier Inns or Beefeaters in the UK. Plentiful fresh fruit salad, fruit, croissants, breads, bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs, cereals, yoghurts etc. All areas scrupulously clean, reception very helpful. Would certainly stay there again.

It feels like a relatively small hotel. The reception room is divided into two buildings. The room is not air-conditioned, but there are a lot of mosquitoes flying into the room when the windows are opened.

What a beautiful hotel! Rooms were very nice. The restaurant was completely booked online. Even when check-in, it was still asked if it was possible to book a table for 2. This was fortunately possible! And what a nice restaurant (adviser!) Also breakfast next morning was well arranged. Friendly staff and a good location (5 min and you are heart center) We will certainly come back here again!

GGuest UserHuge bath tub close walk (even with tons of luggage) from the train. Wonderful hybrid of Bed and Breakfast and airbnb. Glenn was a wonderful host with clear instructions for arrival and entry. From an inconspicuous front entry to a wide open air space out the back…… perfect choice.

旅旅者Close to Ghent Railway Station, tram, Flibco and bus stops, about20-30min feet from Ghent's famous attractions. Although the hotel is small, the room is very large, with large glass windows, well-equipped, daily cleaning service, and free glass bottled drinking water (above the small table in the picture). Luggage storage. The most surprising thing is the breakfast (buffet), very diversified and very delicious, cost-effective, the most ideal is to leave some time to taste slowly, breakfast is the most satisfying trip.
Overall, very satisfied with the stay experience.

GGuest UserExcellent location. Historical building. Confortable. Wonderful breakfast (€ 6.90 pay apart). It is literally in the historic center and the side or very close to the point of interest. I recommend and return. The hostel is fully automated and cashless, it only accepts cards, the door keys are working via the internet.

GGuest UserLo bueno: Lo mejor de este hotel es la ubicación. En 5/10 minutos llegas al centro dando un agradable paseo. El edificio está bien conservado y tiene su encanto. El personal es muy amable. Lo malo: La habitación nos resultó excesivamente pequeña. Muy agobiante y calurosa. En la reserva constaba ”Individual de uso doble” pero aún así no deberían ofrecer habitaciones tan pequeñas para dos personas. No había apenas sitio para movernos o poder abrir la maleta. La cama muy blanda, también las almohadas, que parecían cojines. En cuanto al calor, no había aire acondicionado pero tampoco podías abrir la ventana porque al estar al lado de un canal se colaban muchos mosquitos. Esto no es culpa del hotel, pero podrían poner mosquiteras.

GGuest UserApartment we booked reminded me of my staying in Japan… Everything has a place and everything in its place. What’s required for 4 persons to sleep and bath are just machined to fit in and anything extra is available on payment… all are neat and clean. But, what stands out in this hotel is the hospitality of the staff… Almost all Staff are trained and tuned to address the customers in a professional way. Here I found a little extra. Attitude, service with smile. Never get irritated even for the silly queries or so. To name a few, Tessa, Innike, Xxxx, Yyyy were all so responsive and supportive to ensure you’re comfortable. So are the kitchen staff- Thai Lady, Philippines Chef and everyone. They not only serve but ensure that those who are still around at closing time, pick up their wants and Shut down. At the bar counter, forget the name, I asked for coffee and she came middle of her lunch and gave Any place or organization gets its name and pride by the staff on the ground and here they are. Keep it up Team. Some areas that could be improved upon. 1. Trash can be kept outside the rooms and house keeping staff can pick it up instead of guests bringing it down as If they litter all the way, it’d be a big mess. 2. For coffee/ tea making, since no house keeping comes around, there has to be a system where guests can pick up Tea, Coffee, Sugar and milk as required with a sense of ownership 3. Breakfast menu and dinner menu could be subtly changed to set the surprise expectations. 4. In the apartment, instructions to operate the Induction stove could help guests to be self starters. 5. Travel help- There could be stickers or posters showing your current location, how to get to important attractions / Places, Bus / train timings etc., Thank you team. Look forward to coming back.

Outstanding welcome from the lady at the reception who spoke Spanish to us. Friendly and helpful. How not to feel welcomed there. The location of the hotel is prime, close enough to go back and take a break. The bedroom was, modern, very clean, floors are wood which I prefer than carpet. The barroom seems newly modernized, good shower that doesn’t leak outside, the room has good lighting, beds were clean and comfortable. The windows could be open to get the air flowing as there is no air condition, not that we needed AC it in October but good to keep that in mind. We did need fresh air but comes with the cost of hearing trash picking busses and delivery trucks from very early on. My son and I are not light sleepers and can quickly fall asleep but I can totally see that if my partner would have joined us he would have struggle with the noise. We didn’t try the hotel breakfast but had brunch in Et Alers which is very closed and the food there didn’t disappoint not the ambiance. Worth trying those buckwheet pancakes Belgian style. .

a rather old hotel. the door locks are the round shaped ones. the hot water supply of the shower was not quite steady. the room is quite small for europe i think.
the plus side is they gave us the room well before the official check in time. we arrived at around 10:30 and they gave us the room right away. there is a free breakfast buffet as well (even my room choice is the most basic one).

IIona RVery tired rooms and way overpriced. We booked a dinner, bed and breakfast rate well in advance. When we got there we were informed that because dinner was not available at weekends ( not mentioned at all when we booked ) they would have to cancel our reservation and offer us the walk in rate for bed and breakfast, which wasn't much less that we had paid to include dinner. They suggested we eat at a very expensive hotel which was nearest to them. The receptionist shrugged and said take it or leave it. We took it because it was late and dark and we didn't fancy driving around looking for somewhere else. One of the bedside lights was broken, the previous heater had come off the wall and they had hot wired a normal one into the wall socket. Every now and then it gave out green sparks! There were no plugs in either the bath or the wash hand basin and one of the sheets had a big rip in it. Breakfast was pretty nondescript and the room had a large sign saying if you took any items out of the room they considered it theft. We have stayed in other Campaniles in the past which were fine but never again.

BBrightstyleGhent is a very beautiful city. Everyone must try to experience the weather. Anyone who likes privacy, recommend to come in the morning very much. Or around 20:00 and Sunday, there will be not many people and it is convenient to take pictures without people. Because this time everyone has not woken up and everyone has gone home. At about 9 am, the shops will open for everyone to shop, that is why there are many people. And most restaurants during Sunday are open late And most of the shops for shopping are closed on Sundays Which who plans to buy souvenirs on Sundays, better to change plans on weekdays so there will be quite a lot of options. But most importantly, anyone who visits Belgium Don't forget to taste the waffles at Ghent and visit the buildings. Thank you to everyone for reading until this point.
