The drizzle outside the window was endless. Inside, people sat around the ”fireplace” that was like a warm embrace, music flowing in the air, and the rain from the window interweaved a quiet symphony. The sound, the atmosphere, seems to make people in a warm haven, want to nest in a soft sofa, let time flow slowly. This unique atmosphere is like a beautiful picture, full of comfort and warmth.

The hotel is definitely very good in the local area, the room is large, the service is warm, it should be not many guests, so the breakfast is very simple. There seems to be no business nearby. We all ate at the hotel. The amount of dishes is really large. Neither of us is very good and the taste is better than expected. Before I went, I didn't know that Taigu was difficult to take a taxi. The hotel manager helped us contact the taxi. The driver was not bad. We went to Qiao's compound and took his car.

It is a newly opened hotel, but the service is really lacking. I called the front desk to ask if there is a data cable, and asked someone to come downstairs to scan the shared power bank. Now even Atour Hotel will provide these. I called the front desk in the middle of the night and asked for ice cubes. I asked again after 20 minutes. The front desk forgot to ask for the room number and didn’t know where to send ice cubes. It was quite confusing. In other respects, it was pretty good.

The exam came to live, the service attitude was really good, and I also sent a breakfast, made it alone, it was really praise! But KTV is really noisy! I have been noisy since 9 pm, and I have been playing every time. Fortunately, I wore earplugs in advance, but I can hear a slight movement when I wear earplugs. Hey, I hope I can improve it.

大堂很氣派，服務特別好，房間很大。算當地很好的酒店。點了外賣服務員都送到房間！特別貼心，下次還來體驗！辦理入住和退房都很流暢，酒店整體還是非常不錯的，在某些程度上甚至比希爾頓更好一些，旁邊新開裝修味道大。房間衞生非常乾淨，大門口服務生有禮貌，酒前台服務十分到位，還會選擇再次入住。
地理位置好 乾淨衞生 入住送了歡迎卡片和水果 服務：熱情周到 非常不錯 交通便利 購物方便 整體很好。

裝修的很好，電腦也很流暢，電腦配置高，而且這個價格的酒店，各類洗漱相當齊全，包括床品之類感覺是對標高端酒店配備的，而且酒店服務超好，有什麼問題都能及時解決，性價比真的絕了！

AAReally nice place, but as for most hotels, you cannot expect the staff to speak English (not a problem for me, but if you don't speak any Chinese be prepared). Location is great as it is around 2 minutes walk from 南大街/South Street and all the main museums and courtyards. The owners were very friendly and helpful, making time to explain all the places to see and were to eat. They can even help with good discounts, e.g. for the historical-themed performance '又见平遥'/Encore Pingyao as well as for restaurants.
The hotel is in a beautiful traditional courtyard, very quiet area so you will sleep well at night. The room has traditional furniture, adding to the atmosphere, and while small (but good value for the price) was comfortable. The bed is a so-called 'kang' with heating - it was so comfortable in the cold winter that it was hard to get out of bed in the morning! Part of the floor has heating too. The cleanliness is good too. I would really recommend this place, very good atmosphere and with everything you need to be comfortable.

GGuest UserI stayed 3 nights in this hostel. I liked it really much. I felt at home there. The owner are really kind, they speak English very well and, they are keen to chitchat with you after your day which is really nice when you are traveling alone. Also the hostel is really clean. On top of that, the hostel is nice with lot of plants. The location is great it's only 2 min walk to reach the old town. To conclude, i highly recommend this hostel in Pingyao and I would come back without any questions.
Je suis resté 3 nuits dans cette auberge. Je l'ai trouvé vraiment très bien. Je m'y suis senti ”comme à la maison”. Les propriétaires sont très gentils, ils parlent très bien anglais et ils aiment discuter avec vous à la fin de votre journée, ce qui est très agréable lorsqu'on voyage seul. Également, l'auberge est très propre. De plus, l'auberge est bien décorée avec se nombreuses plantes. Enfin, l'auberge est très bien située, elle est à seulement 2 min à pied de la vieille ville. Pour conclure, je recommande chaudement cette auberge et j'y retournerai sans hésitation.

IIGreat location, quiet neighborhood but not far from the center. The room is clean , comfortable and has the atmosphere of an old traditional home. It is the service that needs significant improvement to warrant the current four star rating. The price was for two people and yet, there was one tea bag per person, a very small roll of toilet paper and the facial tissue bixes were almost empty. The breakfast was no better: ine boiled egg, a small bun, a bowl of sweet porridge and a tiny slice (about one tenth) of a sweet potato and a root vegetable, with a tiny portion of pickled cabbage. For a mainland B&B well below standard. What’s more, the old nan who was on duty in the morning would pick up dirt from the floor while handling food with bare hands and had trouble finding toilet paper in the storage room while I waited outside in freezing weather. The host is friendly and helped with orientation and organizing transfers to the railway station, so with little improvement in service this could be a good choice for Pingyao.

Within Pingyao walled city, it was easy to go to visit the sites. The lady owner gave me a map. Even though I speak no Chinese and they speak no English, we were able to communicate using a translator app. She recommended a restaurant when I asked.
They made the utmost effort to make your stay enjoyable. The owner took me to the railway station when I left.
P.S. Best to download MAPS.ME as it will work offline. Google Maps does not work in China. The taxi will drop you outside the city wall and you can ride the shuttle to the hotel. Make sure you got the Chinese address. Also same possible, install the Wechat app as it is used widely in China - you text in English they translate to Chinese and vice versa.

RRinMMReally love the hotel’s a**osphere. It is cool both scenery and weather. There aren’t much noice and people around the hotel, a little walk and you will reach some of the tourist’s attraction. Some employees can speak english or if not, wechat is the best help. They also booked taxi and drop us off by the taxi, the service was wonderful. Will stay here again if there’s a chance of visiting.

MMufVinArMy stay at the Red Lantern Inn in Pingyao was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment I arrived, the owner was incredibly friendly and provided full-service hospitality. I was even greeted with a thoughtful gift of vinegar upon check-in. The hotel is unique and charming, not your typical modern hotel. The reception is located in a shop at the front, but the hotel's name is clearly displayed, making it easy to find. The directions on Trip.com were accurate, and although it’s a bit of a walk from the North Gate, it’s worth it.
The atmosphere of the inn is enchanting, transporting you to old-world China. The rooms are simply designed yet very comfortable. The hotel also offers traditional costume rentals for photos, which was a fun experience.
What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The owner helped us arrange a bus for sightseeing and even provided a free ride to the Pingyaogucheng Railway Station, despite it being quite far. The car was spacious and comfortable.
To top it all off, I experienced my first snowfall here, making my stay even more magical. I highly recommend the Red Lantern Inn to anyone visiting Pingyao. It’s a place that offers not just a stay, but an unforgettable cultural experience!

It is the first choice for travel photography. The location of the inn is quiet in the hustle and bustle. It is a five-minute walk to the bustling area of the ancient city center, and it is very quiet to rest at night. The inn's operators, everyone brings you joy and warmth. The big kang room is very special, and you can experience it for family travel. The only drawback is that the room is slightly small, which is understandable for an old house.

We took the high speed train arrived at Pingyaocheng station which is around 15 minutes away from the ancient city. When you enter the city wall gate, you will be amazed of the narrow streets and cobblestone road. Picked Yundingxuan hotel because it was closed to the North gate so
If the taxi was to dropped us off it’ll be a short walk but the driver dropped us off near the hotel because cars are not allowed within the main streets.
The hotel is closed to 200 years old and have characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. I was born in Vietnam,
With roots to China but raised up in the US since I was 7 years old. I’ve seen Chinese movies but nothing will prepare you to the hotel and the ancient city. I was surprised how big the hotel complex was. All the staff were very nice, the main host spoke English, and the breakfasts were traditional Chinese breakfast. We stayed two nights and we felt safe throughout our visit. My wife and daughter appreciated the three hotel cats and all the felines throughout the city.
I’m sure the other hotels are fantastic and will give your a unique experience but I can vouch for Yundingxuan. Just be prepared to get out your comfort zone but be amazed by the visual and taste of Pingyao Ancient City.

We were particularly impressed with the hotel staff, who connected us with an excellent English-speaking guide, helped arrange our visits to scenic spots and transfer to the train station, and were generally very helpful throughout our stay.

GGuest UserThe B&B is located in the center of the ancient city and is convenient for travel. The boss has carefully decorated the courtyard. When you wake up in the morning, the entire courtyard is filled with sunshine, making it warm and comfortable! The Ming and Qing Dynasty Dazhuang house we stayed in had two interior and exterior rooms. The retro home design made us feel like we were transported back in time.
