Generally we have enjoyed our stay! Wonderful location, view, many available amenities, deco of the hotel, family atmosphere, friendly staff and food -especially buffet. But the first cold night the heating, that we paid for, was out of service air condition and central. The people that were available to talk to at night in the reception weren't able to help. The next morning they manage to send a technician- that we demanded -and the problem was fixed but nobody came us to discuss any payback to us in any way as it was a lost paid service. Plus, despite that I have booked a room for two adults and two kids, 9-year-old and less than two years,they told me that they could not see that at their system. They said that, they will arrange it. Finally they charged us without any prior notice, despite I have paid online our stay.

After booking reading the reviews, I was a bit apprehensive . Checked in today, 12th July 2024 . Checkin was straightforward, very welcoming and friendly reception staff . Room 4th floor executive room nicely decorated with separate area over looking the views of the mountains and forest . Big bed very comfortable with fan as no air con hairdryer and fridge and safe . Bathroom fair size shower very good pressure. Had evening meal in hotel restaurant big portions price was good value . Upto now can't fault the hotel beyond what I expected has a really nice feel about it would stay again for sure . All I can say reviews it has more the negative one's they must want the ritz or others on that line .

Went 30 December 2022 to spent the last couple of days of the year in what it supposed to be a cosy mountainous hotel set up. It was just that. A cosy refurbished old hotel in the middle of a forest, a short walking distance from Platres village. There is a huge history concerning the role the hotel played as the place for the rich and famous in the early 20th century until the end of the 80's. Royals, movie stars and wealthy individuals stayed at the hotel, photos of which are everywhere. The room was clean, the temperature was perfect and everything worked just fine. The a la cart menu offers few choices, but the food quality was above average to our satisfaction. Not expensive as well. The wine list was short and was focused to local wineries from which there was a handful of worth to try (if you are familiar with the local varieties or if you can get help from the head waiter). Excellent service at the restaurant, smiling faces everywhere and helpful staff in every corner. Taking under consideration the fact that is a facility deep in the forest, old and with a well established mountainous character, it is unfair to judge the simplicity of the design or the lack of 5 modern star building materials. You get what you pay and that is not a high end 21st century super luxury hotel. There is of course room for improvement starting from the unacceptable condition of the private road when you enter the gates heading upwards for the Hotel (about 4 hundred meters). It's totally destroyed and no maintenance have been taken place for decades. There is no lighting to help you avoid the holes so if you are not cautious your car might end up with some kind of damage. If this piece of road is part of the land that belongs to the hotel , then this is totally unacceptable. Generally though a good experience.
