I stayed here for the Bayreuth Festival and would definitely stay again. It's a brand new hotel, only built in 2019 (I think). The rooms were small but modern and spotlessly clean with really good, strong air-conditioning (which is an absolute MUST if you can't cope with hot August temperatures). The location is perfect for the Festspielhaus - only about 12 minutes walk and really close to the train station too. The whole place is bright and modern and there is a really nice bar and seating area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. My only criticism would be that because the windows only take up about half of the external wall then the rooms are quite dark and you can't see very well if you're trying to work or pack a suitcase when it's not daylight hours. There isn't a wardrobe but some coat hangers attached to the wall at the side of the bed - which meant I had all my long evening dresses on display in the room.
We were repeatedly in the First Boarding as a base station for the party game visit. A quiet, convenient accommodation in the positive sense. The suite - next to the kitchenette (we like to cook breakfast on our own instead of standard bricks with standard cookies) - also offers a separate bedroom, a dining table, a small sofa (limited cozy ;) and a spacious shower and a separate toilet. Sufficient space in the dressing box, room safe, parking possibility in the deep garage (also for fat cars). Located at convenient location. A walk can be made in the surrounding area, to the green or in a few minutes to Villa Wahnfried, Liszt Museum, New Castle / Hofgarten and Old Town. Recommendation for all who like to renounce luxury and Butler and want to have their maintained rest.
We spent 2 nights at Hotel Rheingold so we could visit the sights. This was our first stay in Bayreuth even though we have ridden the Main bike path two times earlier. The hotel lies one block from the downtown pedestrian zone and one block from the large shopping mall. There is just an easy stroll to the Opera house and to the Neu Schloss. It would be much more of a walk to the Ermitage. The train station is about a 15 minute walk. The hotel has a secure bike parking closet in the basement garage. For cars the €7 daily parking fee seems good compared to other hotels we've stayed at.
We were in room 302, a double room with king bed located on a corner of the building. When we arrived we were a bit concerned that the ac wasn't working. But within minutes the maintenance man showed up with the controller and got it up and running. He was evidentally checking the ac units in all the rooms on that floor. Otherwise the room would have been very hot.
The room was clean and a reasonable size. The bathroom was also a good size, clean, and there was good hot water. We would have preferred just a shower, no bathtub, but that's just our preference.
As others have noted the breakfast was great. There was hot eggs, bacon, sausage, a variety of fresh breads, cakes, and pastries, cereal, yogurts, fruits, etc. Hard to choose the best things to eat.
We were quite happy with our stay.

We went to Bayreuth for the Ring Cycle at the Festspielhaus and Hotel Goldener Hirsch proved to be the perfect place to stay. It is a comparatively small (40 rooms) family-run (five generations) hotel within 20 minutes walk of the Festspielhaus and just two minutes from the station and buses. The welcome is warm. You soon feel part of the family. The staff have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area: transport, places to visit and restaurants. Every year, the hotel shuts for refurbishment and upgrading. The bedrooms are well-appointed with comfortable beds and well-equipped bathrooms. Everything is spotless. Breakfast is a feast: eggs to order and a handsome buffet including cold meat, cheese, fruit, cakes and delicious bread. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and really pulled out the stops when one of us needed medical attention. A room was found for the other guest without making any fuss. We shall visit again next year. Where else would we stay?
Was in this hotel for a conference from 01/22-23/2020. Nothing great from the outside, but everything is fine inside. Spacious room, nice bathroom, friendly and attentive staff, delicious breakfast, enjoyable dinner for about 80 people! all in all absolutely recommendable!! I'm not a hotel tester, but I value cleanliness and attentive staff. Both were fulfilled here. Both the staff at the front desk and in the breakfast area and dinner were very courteous and attentive. The fact that everyone has a bad day should also be conceded to the staff in a review or hotel. Everyone has a mouth and can speak to the other person if something catches their eye and thus clear things out of the world. It's easy!

Our stay at the Goldener Anker Hotel in Bayreuth was the highlight of our travels in Germany. They served us Franconian white wine, chilled and crisp. Desserts included our favorite poppy seed struedel with elegant coffee service. It is no wonder that film director Wes Anderson is among the long list of fans of this spot, right next to one of the oldest opera houses in Europe. The entire place is a gem, not to be missed if you're a lover of truly authentic historical experiences. The owner is charming and the staff is friendly, multi lingual and hospitable. Excellent
Very smart, but also very loud hotel. 3 of 5 nights were just catastrophic, the temporary ”ballerman” atmosphere from the neighbouring restaurant we could enjoy until midnight. On the other side of the hotel the street (very loud, halling). Windows close, they close very well, then it becomes quickly very sticky. Air conditioning on - again too noisy and unpleasant air train. Although the room doors close well, they fall extremely noisy into the castle. And that's all night (many guests are very careless in this respect). The clash drones through the walls, as you hear the wake in the neighbouring room as noisy as night walking in the rooms. The absolute crown: at 4:00 a.m. a MA of the hotel in the restaurant (which all doors are open) turns the plant with Techno. That was with sleep. Conclude: NOT again ! The prices in the assembled restaurant are high quality - unfortunately also here. The so-called breakfast buffet for €23.90 (!) is convinced by inconceivable simplicity and limits to absorption. It is very bad: in the restaurant area you are permanently flooded through large screens with constant, penetrating self-reporting of the hotel. Escape: not possible (only by escape, what we did in all the afternoons; Bayreuth offers many great alternatives!). We have seen this as a limiting harassment. In the end effect: a beautiful hotel, great facilities, super friendly staff, the night rest of the hotel guests seems to be unimportant (the main thing in the restaurant (-outdoor area) is long and lassfully drunk and laughing, as well as the uninterrupted Relaxing at good food in the restaurant not to have priority. Damage for a quite useless because permanently tired holiday.
VVolkovExcept for the prices and the parking, which is a bit inconvenient due to the fact that every time you want to go out, you might need to call at the reception, since your car might be at the underground level, no further complaints.
Whenever I'm in Bayreuth, I like to stay at the Ibis Hotel. Budget and Style are in the same building and share a reception and breakfast room. At the bar you meet international, open-minded people. The staff are extremely courteous. This time there was a welcome drink with snacks and a mouse pad in my room. A really nice gesture. The hotel is just a few meters from the main train station and about a 10-minute walk to the old town. No frills but still cozy, I always enjoy staying here.
Checking in at the machine in the evening was no problem. The room was very clean, the furnishings were simple but stylish and well thought out. The beds were very comfortable. The amenities were complete. The bunk beds were large; they weren't children's beds, great for our older children. Best value for money! Central location. Check-out at 12:00 was accommodating. Customer friendly. Overall, we really liked it and we'll definitely come back.
AAerzihaimoOld-fashioned villa bungalows, very close to the city center, walk to the festival theater of the Bayreuth Music Festival for about half an hour. Breakfast is OK, there is no one at the front desk, and the staff can be seen at breakfast, which is loose management.
