My partner and I are staying at Hotel Rice Reyes Católico in a group booking as part of an arts festival in beautiful Burgos, Spain. We have been in Burgos 17 times (but who’s counting?), so we know the town and the hotels. When we arrived at the hotel and went to our room, it was stuffy. We turned on the air conditioning, but nothing happened. No cool air came out of the vents. We left, had dinner, and returned around 11 p.m. Still no air. We asked the night desk clerk about the AC. He said, “Do you have a fan?” We said that we didn’t, but when we entered our room, we saw that a fan had been brought to the room. This fan was our air conditioning. In Spain. In July. On day four of our stay, the fan is still our AC, despite repeated requests to the front disk to have the AC fixed. The response is always, “We hope that the AC will be fixed today.” Hopes and prayers, y’all. Our room, upgraded from a basic domicile, is barely large enough for two people and their luggage. The closet space is minimal, and you can’t hang a suit jacket without it touching the.bottom of the closet. This is a dorm room or a youth hostel, not a hotel. Furthermore, our upgraded room is on the back of the hotel, with a view of a concrete wall. Charming… And then there’s the smell of sewerage that permeates not only our room, but the rooms of our colleagues. Funky and nasty, to say the least. The breakfasts are barely adequate. The soggy tortilla, the most typical dish in Spain, is inedible. Really? If you are planning to visit Burgos, one of the preeminent smaller towns in Spain, with the most impressive cathedral in the country, please do yourself a favor and don’t stay at this sinkhole of a hotel. There are plenty of better affordable options. The hotel has the nerve to call itself a four-star operation. It’s a two-star hotel at best, and given our experience, it’s actually a one-star establishment. Avoid at all costs.
Exceptional location, entrancing view from our room, beautiful hotel exterior and interior, well-appointed, spacious and comfortable room, engaging staff, excellent service, delicious meals! Need I say more? We just loved our stay and we all long to go back!
We arrived here on a tour. One lift to get about 40 people to their rooms. Ended up carrying my suitcase three flights instead of waiting. The room was clean and cosy, large single beds and very quiet. USB plugs in the power points beside the bed were an added bonus. The Bathroom VERY small but the water pressure for the shower was fantastic! Very close to the Cathedral, approx 5-10 minutes depending on how fast you walk. My only gripe was that the bar opened at 8.30pm and I was looking for my nightly G&T at 6pm! Breakfast area way too crowded. The toaster takes an age to cook. One coffee machine for such large numbers is too little. Breakfast satisfactory but nothing startling. Would recommend.

Located in an industrial area 10mins north of Burgos town with ample free parking. We utilised this hotel as our last night stopover before catching the early afternoon ferry from Santander. Easy access onto the main road network and just under 2hrs drive to the ferry port. Unfortunately the day of our visit was a public holiday in Spain so the hotel was brimming with guests in the in house restaurant and the reception guys were obviously not happy having to work from the lack of welcome and expressions on their faces. Never the less the room exceeded our expectations in view of the very good room rate. Good size and very clean room with very comfortable beds and everything you need in the bathroom. Good for a one night stopover before catching the ferry.
We spent one night at this hotel and occupied two adjoining premium rooms. I don't think we will return to this hotel the next time we visit Burgos. Let's start with the positive points: the staff, the location, the breakfast, the characteristic perfume in the lobby. As for the disappointing/surprising points: A global advanced state of wear and tear (knocks, marks, stains), a surprisingly noisy lift with a warped cabin, a postage stamp-sized television, a sloping washbasin where water stagnates, a composite bathtub that makes worrying cracking noises, missing soap, the air temperature in the corridors is far too high... The main fault remains the capacity of the car park which is ridiculous. The hotel does not reserve the parking spaces, which allows it by refusing to cancel rooms after 6pm not to lose clients who would not be lucky enough to arrive early enough to have a space in the garage located in the basement. we arrived at 8pm and this was our case. The most surprising thing was the impossibility to reach the reception by phone on the two numbers provided. About ten calls made by two different phones during more than an hour were all picked up automatically, nobody answered but we could hear the background noise of the reception. When we arrived, the reception noticed the problem, expressed its surprise but did nothing to correct the problem at the time. Strange... We definitely expect more from a 4 stars hotel.
Espantosa experiencia.
This hotel has a great staff and quite helpful. The room is nice but the bathroom is extremely small and hard to use. Thus is the biggest issue with the place. Good value for your money if you’re looking at a clean place. I would stay again. About 1 km from the church.
The room facilities are basically no problem. A few small defects can be improved better: the large slabs on the floor of the shower room are not very stable, and they are like seesaws. There are no hangers and clothes drying racks. When you go out, you still have to change your clothes every day. The front desk service is warm and thoughtful, especially worthy of recognition. The room was very clean and tidy and comfortable.
A 10 to the attention. I was wrong at the reservation date and they changed it without problem. I am very grateful.
The hotel is very well located, although the parking, 20 euros, is a lot expensive.
The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable.
The room, by the way, is huge.
Stayed here for three days as a rest stop during my camino. Conveniently located near the major sights -- either walking distance (Cathedral, Monasterio de San Juan, etc.) or a short taxi ride away (Cartuja de Santa Maria de Miraflores and Monasterio de Santa Maria la Real de las Huelgas). The service provided was exceptional. My room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Wifi connection was fast and stable. Breakfast was delicious and the choices were varied. It was quiet even if situated beside the street.

Excellent
SSchickExcellent accommodation. Luxury and very well located to visit the city of Burgos walking. A very well-equipped room. A parking under the hotel but very expensive for the night
The Bulevar is a modern high rise hotel, close to the city centre. The room was clean with an en suite with soap dispensers and facial soap. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A map was provided and places where we could have dinner. They were more than happy to print out our forms required for our trip back to the UK. You can park outside the Hotel to check in. Then you are directed to the underground garage where there are lifts to take you up to your floor.
I worked in the hospitality industry for 10 years. If this is a ”3-star hotel” then I'd hate to see what a 2 or 1 star hotel is. Who gave them 3 stars? There is not even a concierge or manager onsite, but rather a young desk agent and servers running the hotel with zero management experience. I ordered a salad from the hotel restaurant and 20 minutes later, still hadn't received it. When I inquired where it was, I was told that there was only one person working in the restaurant kitchen. A 3 star hotel with only one person working in the restaurant's kitchen? I don't think so. They had zero ability to remedy the situation but could only make excuses. I watched people that ordered after I receive hot food, but the kitchen couldn't even put out a cold salad in a timely fashion. If this is a ”3-star hotel”, then I'll stay in a Motel 6 and still get better service.
