A charming, old-fashioned hotel in an isolated, spectacular location. Food in restaurant is authentic and excellent, even if the service is a bit slow. I stayed in 6 places in El Hierro, and no question this one is the top as regards international service standards. I had a room with a balcony and it was lovely, with the only annoyance for me being that all rooms seem to offer 2 twins beds and none with one double bed, which is pretty common among old-style Spanish hotels.

Ich war im Januar 23 für 3 Nächte vor Ort. Die Unterkunft ist eine kleine von einer Familie geführte Einheit. Diese sind alle sehr nett und der Chef des Hauses spricht auch gutes Englisch und sorgt sich immer um hungrige Gäste zum Frühstück :-). Die Lage ist ideal, nahe zu Supermarkt oder auch Bushaltestellen. Für den Mietwagen ist vor dem Haus auf der Straße genug Platz. Die Anlage ist sehr sauber und das Zimmer wurde täglich gereinigt. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig. Einzig die Wände sind sehr dünn so das man das Schnarchen der Nachbarn hört. Gute Dusche. Das Frühstück kostet 7,50 Euro und besteht aus einem kleinen leckeren Buffet. Auch ein Omelett wird auf Wunsch frisch zubereitet. Dazu Orangensaft und Kaffee. Für den Preis und die Lage bietet sich die Unterkunft sehr gut an um El Hierro zu erkunden. Ich kann bis auf die dünnen Wände nur Gutes berichten!

GGuest UserThe hotel has a lovely position by the sea and it also has some fabulous views of the mountains as well. We had a first floor sea view and the room was very clean & comfortable. No safe but you can make tea/coffee in your room. Our evening meal was good, nothing spectacular but we enjoyed the ribs, the restaurant lacks atmosphere. Breakfast doesn't start until 8.30am, which is very late especially if you are going out walking. Breakfast had a good buffet selection but nothing hot available. We were disappointed that we were unable to book a massage/treatment in the two days that we were the there as the hotel was not particularly busy. Reception was a bit hit and miss, we had to keep reminding them about our picnics, which were forgotten on both days. The restaurant service is good. We did a nice walk from the hotel to the Arco de la Toscas (a natural stone sea arch) which is about 9km return. There is a bus stop outside the hotel but I think the bus is quite infrequent. It is a hike up to Sabinosa but there is a footpath which will avoid most of the road. The pool has some loungers and a good view of the mountains but we didn't use the pool. There is a bar/restaurant opposite the hotel where we enjoyed an early evening beer.
