The Hotel Seaport is nothing fancy for sure, but it gets the job done and it is in a very nice location - within walking distance to the castle and cruise terminal. The rooms are standard for EU sizes, and the breakfast isn't huge but it has everything you need. For the money I can't recommend a better hotel in Turku.
Omenahotelli at Humalistonkatu Turku. Based on ad, looked fairly modern and reasonably prised, about 100 euros per night. There is no reception, you get in with door code. Taxi almost didn’t find the place, but finally we got there. First thing we noticed, was a full beer can on the hallway floor. Some hotels do offer welcome drink, but I doubt this was the case here. When we got inside the room, first impression was like grandma had died, and relatives had tasked alcoholic 70-years old simple minded uncle to decorate it as cheaply as possible. Rom was fairly spacious, but for some weird reason they had built a some kind of wall in front of beds, so there really wasn’t much space to squeeze yourself into bed (luckily we’re not big, large person might not make it). Next to bed, on the floor, there were some papers and empty medicine box. I laughed aloud when I Saw the pillow – size of a stamp and lumpy as hell. There was supposed to be some kind of “kitchen corner” – it was a simple cabinet straight from seventies, with minibar (empty) and microwave oven. Next to it there was a table (from same time period) and chair (advertised as sofabed) that you couldn’t really sit on, but that you could theoretically use as a “sofachair”. I didn’t dare to try, and there wasn’t bedlinen anyway. Next to it, on the floor, there was a large stain – I wouldn’t dare to guess what. Whole room smelled unpleasant. Unfortunately, you couldn’t open windows. Bathroom was ok. Toilet paper was under the sink, bit difficult to reach, and there wasn’t any kind of shelf in the shower to hold soap. Peephole on a door had been stuffed with something orange. Luckily there was a door chain. It looked like that electrical wiring had been done by electrician who was fairly drunk. Room was filthy, dust everywhere and some sticky patches on floor and on the door etc. Bed wasn’t a catastrophe (except the pillow) – cheapest you can find at Ikea I guess. My son was bit worried, if we would dare to stay there, but since it was 2 am we really didn’t have a choice. I woke up around 7AM, heard someone talking at the next room. There is no soundproofing, you can hear clearly what neighbours are talking.
The Park Hotel is very conveniently located at the central Turku, has buses passing and the main Railway Station right next to it. The place is in a beautiful historical building, and the rooms are cozy with personality and fun flare to the interior decoration, not the cold and sterile feeling that most modern locations have. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and had seen a good effort in offering a delicious and comprehensive breakfast. It was a delight to spend a night at the Park Hotel!

The hotel is very well located, close to the center.
Service okay.
The bathroom unfortunately was terrible. The shower door was damaged, barely ”walking”, there was a hole in the sealing of the shower tray, which made it very wet after two baths. The rest is a plus, room ok, equipment as well.

Turku Cathedral
Llulu0531The Basilica of Turku is the only surviving medieval church in Finland, with a large clock on each wall in the center of the church, and several archbishops are buried in the basement of the church, according to the guide, and there is also a queen buried here. So this cathedral has a very important place in the hearts of the Finnish people, many people will come to admire.
Turku Castle
Ppxy0705Turku is Finland's century-old city, Turku castle is its symbol building, the castle is large, but the appearance is not that gorgeous atmosphere, the exterior wall of Baise has some mottled, but this mottled, reflecting its history and charm, cultural atmosphere is strong, definitely worth visiting.
Forum Marinum Maritime Centre
月月月鸟的小窝The Turku Maritime Center is right by the river, not far from Turku Castle, there are some large model boats on display, some are real ships, very good museums. Worth a visit.
Aboa Vetus Ars Nova
MM44***33The original information of the houses, living utensils, lifestyles and other people of medieval Finland are completely preserved. Just like a small village. The scenic spot is open in a park and can be entered for free with Turkuka. It shows the original appearance of people relying on different professional lives, and the staff dressed as medievals restore the various foods at that time in the house, and some can still eat. So the friends who can go are still recommended to experience it.
