I should have read the advice on Google and TripAdvisor before booking in this hotel. It is not noisy at all. After all, you are wake up every time someone comes into his room. You hear the doors shouting, the customers dispute. We heard a man going out in the corridor and saying ”You're going to close your ...?” and then a ”c ....!” We don't know if you're going to laugh or cry. We came back at 23:15 p.m. We didn't talk in the corridor. We have kept the door of the room so that it doesn't knock. Unfortunately, others do not have anything to do with people who sleep! Otherwise, the room is very small. Once you have put your bags, you can't move. With breakfast, it can be: we have cheese, jam, chocolate bread, croissants, madeleins, fruit salad, yachts ... If you return to Amiens, you will find another accommodation mode!

The location is very good, right next to the train station. The front desk service is also very good, helping us to pick up hot water every day, and breakfast is also good, but the room is very small, it can be said that it is the smallest room ever, two people can not turn around, and can't put luggage. The cleaning aunt couldn't understand English and had difficulty communicating. For two days, she didn't clean the room at all. Will not book again!

The Grand Hôtel de l'Univers is located on a pedestrian-only street in center of Amiens, very conveniently located a very short walk from the train station. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the bathroom appeared recently-renovated. The rest of our room, and the common areas, however, were a bit more worn, and a little renovation wouldn't go amiss. WiFi was available, free, and it worked well. Our room was not air conditioned, which didn't matter much during our stay (September) but might be uncomfortable in mid-summer. The front desk staff were bilingual, very welcoming, friendly, and went out of their way to help us. Overall, I'd give it a grade of A for location, A+ for the staff, and a B- for the overall condition of the facilities.

LOCATION: Ideal. I arrived by train and it was about 5 minutes walk down the same street, nice and flat for the wheelie case. Lots of local sights within easy walking distance including the cathedral (France's largest, twice as big as Notre Dame in Paris), Jules Verne Museum and the incredible Musée de Picardie. APARTMENT: When I entered, I was blown away by the superb views over Amiens including the the cathedral spires from both the sitting room and bedroom windows. The apartment was spacious, clean, quiet and had everything needed. STAFF: Amiable and helpful VALUE: Outstandingly good.

Breakfast has bread, juice and cold dishes, no hot dish, no sausage or scrambled eggs. The surrounding environment is hard to say. Next to the train station, even during the dinner time, there are quite a lot of idle people. During the stay, there are idle people sitting on the stairs at the entrance of the hotel every day, and the safe and tidy area of the city feels very different. The bed in the room accounted for a large part, the aisle was narrow, and there was no desk or something like a desk that could put a laptop. There was no light at all when I entered the door without inserting the room card, and I tripped heavily when I rushed back to the room to take my luggage. All in all, the facilities and environment are not ideal.

The hotel is very good and very clean and the room is very clean. Good, varied, but small and poorly organized breakfast (a few winehouses compared to the number of people, so you need to be patient and wait for your turn).

GGuest UserThis hotel was great! Far, far better than its two-star rating would suggest. It was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the location was within 10 minutes of the main station in Amiens and another 10 - 15 minutes to the restaurants alongside the main canal. It was very quiet at night. There was only one possible downside. There are some major buildings being constructed nearby and work starts soon after 7.00am. I visited in mid-May 2023 and I would imagine building work will continue for at least a year, I didn’t find it a problem but I had to get up about 7.00am. There was quite a lot of machinery noise and vehicle reversing. It might be best to ask for a room on the side furtherest away from the building works.

GGuest UserLOCATION: Ideal. I arrived by train and it was about 5 minutes walk down the same street, nice and flat for the wheelie case. Lots of local sights within easy walking distance including the cathedral (France's largest, twice as big as Notre Dame in Paris), Jules Verne Museum and the incredible Musée de Picardie. APARTMENT: When I entered, I was blown away by the superb views over Amiens including the the cathedral spires from both the sitting room and bedroom windows. The apartment was spacious, clean, quiet and had everything needed. STAFF: Amiable and helpful VALUE: Outstandingly good.

GGuest UserI should have read the advice on Google and TripAdvisor before booking in this hotel. It is not noisy at all. After all, you are wake up every time someone comes into his room. You hear the doors shouting, the customers dispute. We heard a man going out in the corridor and saying ”You're going to close your ...?” and then a ”c ....!” We don't know if you're going to laugh or cry. We came back at 23:15 p.m. We didn't talk in the corridor. We have kept the door of the room so that it doesn't knock. Unfortunately, others do not have anything to do with people who sleep! Otherwise, the room is very small. Once you have put your bags, you can't move. With breakfast, it can be: we have cheese, jam, chocolate bread, croissants, madeleins, fruit salad, yachts ... If you return to Amiens, you will find another accommodation mode!
