"Very distinctive hotel, next to Winchester Public School and Jane Austen's Former Residence Museum, five minutes walk to the cathedral, three minutes in the park, there is a very clear river when walking in the morning, very beautiful! Wolfsey Castle ruins are a four-minute walk away! In short, a very good stay! Breakfast is also delicious..."

"The location is no better, the Winchester Cathedral is opposite the main entrance, there is no parking lot, but the hotel provides a parking permit for a nearby parking space, and there is no charge. Breakfast can be delivered to the room for free, or it can be eaten in a rustic restaurant decorated downstairs. The rooms are too big, the solid wood furniture is also antique, very romantic, and the bathroom is spacious and comfortable. The perfect hotel, will definitely go again next time. "The hotel is well located in the centre of town however parking and access by car was a big problem; we had to park a mile away. Our room (and those of other travellers) wasn't ready on arrival. The room was in the main building; the bed was comfortable and the room had usual amenities. The shower was a little dated. We used the bar which was comfortable although overly busy due to two large parties booked in for events that evening. The bartender, Micky, coped really well with the large number of customers from the events. Breakfast included a good choice of hot and cold options and service was good. We felt the hotel tariff was over-priced even allowing that we visited for the Christmas market in December."

"The water in the shower is so slow and weak that it was dripping and it was not warm, quite cold. Difficult to shower and wash hair. :("
