"Upon checking in the lade receptionist was quite rude to us never smiled either . In the evening we went to eat in the bar salad came with mud still on the leaves which then put us off our meals, I asked for refund . Receptionist came refunded our salad but not once from the restaurant staff or the receptionist did I receive an apology which is unheard of . Later I asked same receptionist for a late checkout as being a Leonardo Hotels member you can get this free of charge he said yes I shall mark that down. Today at 10am I was wanting to check that the evening receptionist had noted it down luckily I had checked as he hadn't even done it . The lady receptionist had to put it on . Would I stay again absolutely not ."
"Nice hotel with parking (extra at £5 per day)
Rooms were cold so had to put heater on all night which wasn't a problem. Staff very friendly. We stayed on floor 6 top floor room 602 and would definitely consider staying again."
"Although I stayed for one night, the overall experience was good. The environment was quiet, the front desk service was very friendly and kind, the parking and transportation were very convenient, and the breakfast in the morning was very rich and delicious. Next time I go to Newcastle, I will choose this hotel"
"This was the second time we have stayed for 1 night whilst visiting Beamish. The first time we were in one of the bungalows but this time we were in the main restaurant building. Due to the age of the building, it was very very noisy. The windows are single glazed and when trucks drove by the bed vibrated! You could hear people in the room above and next to us. People walking by in the corridor talking at a normal volume was like they were in the room with us. Food in the restaurant was average. The evening meal was overcooked and dry. Breakfast was nice enough and plentiful. The temperature in the room was good. The shower was also good. Bed was comfy enough. Staff were nice and friendly. Nothing to write home about though. It was cheap enough for what we wanted. We won’t however stay here the next time we go to Beamish in case we are put in the noisy main building again."
"Best bed ever! Very comfortable linens, mattress and pillows! Towels were a bit old but very clean!
The swimming pool is just good… kind of cold but a little warm, but not enough! So it is not comfortable being on the jacuzzi at all… and every 5/7 minutes, have to get out of the water to restart the engine…
Saunas and spa were really good!
Breakfast was very good with lots of varieties that we don’t see often in hotel in the UK. Fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, breads and all the hot british breakfast dishes.
Near a lot of restaurants and shopping locations
Would be back again to this same place"
"I was terrified to use the communal toilet as a man was raving up and down the corridors at night. Despite 6 people complaining, he was not removed by police until early morning. Also, the cleaning staff were very loud at 08.30 Sunday morning disturbing my sleep further. It was a terrible stay
the room, corridors & reception were clean and tidy. The bathroom a little smell of damp and strange wall painting but very clean. I didn't use the shower as I wanted to leave ASAP."
"I booked this hotel twice by accident because the Trip.com key button did not work. They were very rude and condescending when explaining to me that I needed to go back to the third-party agent. The latter then told me to go back to the hotel and I just went from one side to the other. it was just an accident I don’t know why they were so insistent in not refunding me."
"Stayed here many times with work. Excellent location, super friendly staff and amazingly clean. Great value for money. Restaurant inside and bar which is a little expensive for what it is but there is a pub and carvery across the road (2mins walk).
Parking is free and there is always loads of it. The hotel itself is on a bit of a retail park which can get busy at times but I’ve never struggled to park and I’ve stayed here at least 40 nights since April.
I don’t write reviews to be fair. But credit where it is due."
