"We stayed overnight before an early flight from Gatwick. Although the hotel is close to the terminal, the access route is confusing and takes you through a multi-storey car park, which wasn’t very intuitive.
We had booked an accessible room via Trip.com as it was the cheapest option. At check-in we advised that we didn’t need an accessible room and were happy to switch to a standard one. The staff did make the change, but it caused an unexpected amount of delay and confusion.
The room was clean, warm and nicely decorated. However, the bed (likely a queen) felt much smaller than the king or super-king beds we’ve had in comparable hotels, including the Premier Inn at the North Terminal. Comfort was fine, but space was limited.
The bar is located in an unusual atrium area overlooking PVC windows. Despite the odd setting, staff were friendly and the drinks were well prepared.
We had dinner at Yokozuna Japanese Steakhouse. The menu leans more towards westernised Asian dishes than authentic Japanese. It was very quiet during our visit. Staff were pleasant, and the food was acceptable, though not particularly memorable.
Overall, a convenient option for an early flight, but with some quirks and room for improvement."
"Most guests staying here are likely catching a flight. I had an early morning international flight the next day, so I looked for a hotel near the terminal. I originally intended to book the Sofitel next door; the prices were comparable at first, but I forgot to finalize the booking. When I re-checked, the Sofitel's price had jumped to 1800, while this hotel was 1490, so I promptly booked this one.
The Sofitel, in contrast, offers a direct skywalk from the terminal. For Premier Inn, you need to exit the terminal and walk across the road. Once inside the building on the other side, there was staff to guide guests. The lobby is located on Level 0. Check-in is fully automated; you just enter your booking number at a machine and it issues your room key.
The hotel's interior is comparable to a mid-range budget hotel in China. Many room types feature a double bed along with a sofa, which can be converted into an extra bed, essentially turning it into a twin or family room. The room size isn't particularly generous; you'll need to move things around to fully open a suitcase. Hot water was ample. The bathroom features a bathtub with a shower screen.
The hotel does not provide amenities like slippers, toothbrushes, or toothpaste, but tea bags and an electric kettle are available. There's a COSTA coffee shop on Level 0 where you can grab a bite and a coffee. While not spotlessly clean, the hygiene was acceptable."
"Inside South Terminal. You can take the lift near train station to 3rd Floor, where reception is. Thanks for taking care of my notes of my booking and arranged my preferred room.
About the bathroom, I’ve seen lots ‘wet’ comments. However it can be easily resolved by shutting down the toilet cap and water will disappear very quickly after the shower.
You can enjoy 20% discount in many restaurants before security check. If you fancy something light, M&S and Nero Cafee is before security check as well."
"Premier Inn Gatwick Airport – A One‑Night Delight
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’re after a quick pit‑stop before catching a flight, this Premier Inn on A23 Airport Way is the perfect little nest.
First things first – the bed! Imagine sinking into a cloud that’s been expertly fluffed by a team of sleep‑engineers. It was so comfortable I wisely set 2 alarms and luckily I did!
The room itself was sparkling clean, with a bathroom that could double as a showroom for spotless tiles. Fresh towels, a gleaming washbasin, and a shower that delivered just the right amount of “wake‑up‑and‑go” pressure.
Location‑wise, you’re practically neighbours with the North Terminal. A breezy nine‑minute stroll (or a brisk power‑walk if you’re feeling sporty) gets you right to the gates, leaving plenty of time for a coffee or a last‑minute souvenir hunt.
Overall, a hassle‑free night of comfort, cleanliness and convenience – all wrapped up in a friendly, no‑fuss package. Perfect for jet‑setters who want a good night’s sleep without the airport chaos.
Would I book again? Absolutely. Pack your bags, bring your sense of humour, and enjoy the sweet spot between “home” and “take‑off”!"
"I had booked a **King room with a bathtub** for one night. When I checked in, it was already very late—around 11 PM. **I had been traveling for over a month, so on my last night, I really needed a room with a bathtub to relax my body.**
However, when we arrived, the front desk guy gave us a **disabled-access room**, which, of course, had **no bathtub**. I thought about asking for a change, but I was **extremely tired**, and it was too late.
The next morning, I called the front desk to ask what had happened. The staff member said it was because they were **overbooked**. **She didn’t apologize and even seemed to blame me, saying I should have asked when I got the key.** She also claimed no other rooms were available at that moment.
I explained that when we took a shower in the disabled-access bathroom, **the water didn’t drain properly**—maybe something was clogged. This made it **dangerous because slipping was a real risk**. After listening, she called back **a minute later**, saying a room was now available and that I could come to the front desk to switch.
I felt **very disappointed** with the service and will **never return**
Also the kettle was very dirty."
"The room is really small. I would say it is only suitable for one person. It is as small as you can't open your suitcase throughout the whole time in the room. You need to climb up to the bed. It does not feel that private. The window is on the door with a manual blind. And it is next to a see-through toilet. No chair is provided as there is not enough space to get a chair. You need to ask a hair dryer from the reception. Reception is available most of the time at night. Snacks and drinks are available as well. The location is tricky. The hotel is in the terminal, but there is only a lift to let you access the hotel. So, you need to go down a level from the terminal by that specific lift. Clean in general, the shower and toilet are not separate but it is a bit of distance between them."
"The room was compact but well-designed with a standard layout, featuring a separate wet and dry area. The living environment was comfortable and quiet, and the bedding was clean. The large bed provided a comfortable sleep after a long journey, and its proximity to Gatwick Airport saved a lot of travel hassle."
"A beautiful hotel, good location, clean however reception needs to have more staff at the desk for check in, arrived to check in, only one staff member and the process took so long to serve the customer before me! I was now delayed in catching my train to go to a meeting!!"
"Was flying out early so had to stay before the flight. The first night had a good room was clean enough. But the shower head could have done with a clean. Then on the return flight the room we had was not as good. We also feel it is rather out the way and transport there isn’t too good.
The service from staff though was very much on point couldn’t be more helpful."
"Excellent stay, highly recommend. Hosts very accommodating. No 3 bus from Gatwick South terminal stops literally outside the property. Fare is £2/person. Great alternative to staying in the immediate vicinity of the airport."
