Very friendly and helpful staff. Fabulous room with great sea view. Well appointed bathroom with huge fluffy towels and lovely toiletries. Super food….really excellent fish and chips. Great location. All in all, a very special place to stay.

The entire hotel has only a ”new start” and a newly built hut ”Penwith” with only ”4 rooms” can live in, all the rooms in the main hotel are very shabby and more hotel than a hotel. The 16-square-meter ”Penwith 4” room type I stayed in is already the second highest-level room type in this hotel, and I have to try my luck... I can't choose 1, 2, 3 or 4 when booking. To summarize: room types 1 and 2 are on the first floor, room types 3 and 4 need to go up through a very narrow corridor, which is very inconvenient to carry large luggage; the bed is very soft and there are a lot of hair on the floor. Cobwebs, the bathroom area is about 6 square meters, ”compared to” the feeling of the guest room... it's quite spacious. Breakfast is the most common English breakfast...no surprises, and nothing special. Because it is a guest... so parking is free. Because it is near the sea, the wind is particularly strong. There is nothing worth spending time around. Unless you are visiting the small town of Penzance 10 miles away, the recommended stay for two nights is the limit. Living in this place does not have the term ”enjoy”, it is just for ”staying down”, and the price is low!

Breakfast is good, in a small town, below is a bar, I will rest after 11 o’clock, two beds, sleep quite comfortable, breakfast is a typical English breakfast, you will be asked what you eat, you can choose

We had an amazing stay came from Alicante arrived on the evening of the 9th Dec for a week We were welcomed by one of your managers ( lovely guy) he was always friendly and helpful. Lisa in the restaurant was also so kind and friendly to us. Room all good ,nice and warm lovely tea coffee and biscuits in our room. Thank you Jane & colin Alicante spain

We stayed at Torwood House for 5 nights in September 2020. Our room was huge & had everything we could wish for - kettle & hot drinks facilities, lovely shower with ample hot water, comfy bed & convenient location to walk to restaurants and along the bay. Perfect if you are heading off to the Isles of Scilly as we did. Our family of grown up kids joined us for two nights and they also stayed in a large room. Steve cooked delicious breakfasts and nothing was too much trouble for Lynda. As we had to depart really early for the ferry to St Mary's, Lynda kindly supplied us with a packed breakfast to eat on the ferry. Many thanks to both of you for a fantastic stay. We only saw the owner the last morning to pay. I had received a message before we arrived, with the instructions and the number of our room. The keys of our room were left on the door and the main door was left open all the time. We don't particularly like this system, but I found this quite often around the UK and Scotland. Also, the owner was always reachable over the phone and everything we requested was done and provided. Our room was big. Breakfast was self service in the room so they provided fresh fruits, milk, yoghurt, orange juice, eggs, bread, jam, butter, tea and coffee every morning. We had a microwave, cutlery, glasses, cups and plates. The negative aspects for us were: - smelly entrance. The carpet looked very old and, together with the smell did not give a good impression - our room was big but too full of stuff. There were blankets and bed nets under the beds and all sorts of paintings, mirrors and bedside tables. It felt too full of things. There was no attention to details in terms of furniture. Mattresses were different in different beds and not great to sleep (however this may be just personal taste). - too much light in our room as the light on the corridor was constantly on and there was a big window on top of the door so it was very bright in the room. Overall, it is a good average solution if you have to stop in Penzance as it is basically on the promenade and only 10 minutes walking from the city centre.
