We had a lovely stay at Diamonds Inn. We booked the Standard Suite, Ensuite 3-bed room which is located at the top floor of the building. A very quaint compact en-suite family room great for a group of friends or family. All basic amenities are there including towels, shampoo and shower gels. There’s also an electric water kettle, coffee/tea, hair dryer and a small fridge! Beds are soft and comfy. Walls are thin and may hear voices of other guests in the halls during the day but was not a major issue during our stay, mostly quiet after 10pm. Location is very convenient as its only a stones throw away from one of the famous wall entrances, a pub and restaurant across and York Minster. Host was lovely and friendly as well, called to ask if we can get an early check-in and was happy to accommodate us.

Close to the old city and the train station, the hotel facilities are perfect and the service is good

The interior decoration of this youth hostel is nice and the price is relatively affordable. Because there are many tourists in York on weekends, the beds are limited. I reluctantly booked a mixed room for 6 people, but I was unlucky because I seemed to be the only woman in the room, and there was a man who snored loudly, talked to himself, and got up at 3 o'clock in the morning and turned on the light, which made the sleeping experience very bad. It should be noted that the toilet and bathroom in this youth hostel are very small and are shared by 6 people in the room, not the kind of shared on the same floor, which is very inconvenient.

The hotel is right in front of the cathedral, the location is very central, and Diagon Alley is also within walking distance, which is not convenient for parking. 7.8 minutes after walking the street one night behind the parking lot is okay, parking during the day is very expensive. Welcome to us is a very old-fashioned British gentleman, introduced the room for 10 minutes, and encountered the butler-style service for the first time.

Which is all flowers, warm and thoughtful service, cooking is delicious, staying late at night, ushered in all the fat cats sent, so psychic, actually will lead the way [strong] [捂 face]. Press the e-mail prompt to pick up the key, enter the door promptly, wake up in the morning with chocolate hanging on the door, wait for you to enjoy a delicious breakfast, want to turn the cat away [seduce] [seduce] [seduce].

The location is very convenient, with York City Walls just outside. Butcher Street and the Cathedral are basically a 10-minute walk away. It's on the street but not noisy, you can see the street view, which is quite unique. The staff are super warm and friendly! The room is clean and tidy. But the kitchen doesn't have basic things like salt, pepper and oil. Basically, we had them in our previous B&Bs in the UK, so it was a bit embarrassing that we didn't bring them here. . . In addition, the bed is really small, both single and double. I really don't understand why so many beds in the UK are this small. . . And the single bed will make noise when you turn over at night.

My wife and I were staying overnight in York and stayed at this hotel. Everything was so seamless, check in, showed to our room which was a pleasant change. The room was more than adequate for one night, instant Wi-Fi was available too. We had a dinner reservation and both opted for the “roast”. It was a delicious meal and dome of the best roast beef I have ever had. A good selection of vegetables were available as well. My wife had the “figgy” pudding whilst I opted for the best crème brûlée I have ever had. We were served by Nicole who was so helpful throughout. Good choice of breakfast this morning after a lovely “rainwater” shower in the bathroom. It’s not cheap but you really do get what you pay for. We have stayed here on three occasions in the past but not for a few years. We would not hesitate in coming back here.

It's a typical hostel, but it's cheap, clean, and the staff are kind. Difficult points are about 30 minutes walk from the station, difficult to manage valuables because it is a hostel, and no breakfast.

We stayed here 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Very friendly and helpful checkin on arrival. Our room was well equipped with everything you require for a comfortable stay and it was very quiet. Only small complaint was we had an upstairs room and it got quite hot during the day and took awhile to cool off at night. There’s a pub across the road for meals and a drink and a convenience store a short walk away. A short pleasant walk to the city with all the amazing things York has to offer. There’s a no alcohol policy in your room which has attracted some negative feedback in the past. But it’s the owners place so it’s their rules and we had no problem respecting their decision. We had a cup of tea at night instead of our glass of red. The majority of people would drink responsibly in their rooms but there’s always a few that would spoil it for everyone else and the owners have no option but to make it a blanket ban. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone else.
