We stayed in this place when we were in Meteora. Lovely place, great location, beautiful view and great service. Owners Nico and Alberta were hospitable and helpful. Their tips on where to go and where to eat was very helpful. The room we had was spacious and clean. The bathroom size was okay, the water pressure strong and hot water always available. The bed was big and comfortable. Our stay in this place was very nice. I highly recommend this place.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. For us this was a disappointment. On the plus side this hotel is very close to the Meteora monasteries and also a 5 minute walk from the centre of Kastraki. On the pictures this hotel looks great but in real it’s very basic. We booked a Meteora view room with it’s own balcony overlooking the rocks but the only thing we were able to see were very high trees (see pictures). The room itself was small en very basic also. The bathroom was extremely small (see picture). The remote control of the air-conditioning was broken so we changed it with the one from the next door room which worked better. The breakfast offered in the hallway was very poor. Terrible coffee, some slices of bread with some cheese and sausage. The staff was OK but not very friendly or helpful. There was no information available about the Meteora monasteries. No maps, no information, nothing. This was very disappointing for an hotel which main business is hosting visitors from all over the world who are here for visiting these monasteries. This hotel was not worth the money we paid for the room (about 95 Euro per night).

I like the retro hotel very much. From the moment I entered the hotel, the service of the hotel is exactly as seen in the British movies. The environment inside and outside the hotel is very good, the door is simple and elegant, and the outside is picturesque. The breakfast dining environment is very good, the food is very rich, the service staff is also attentive and elegant, the entire dining environment is quite satisfactory.
During DANA Daniel, we were en route through Greece and our destination was Meteora. The weather conditions to reach our destination forced us to make a detour of approximately 500 km, so we were delayed about 8 hours. We arrived at the hotel very tired and the attention we received was exquisite. I explain this to justify my opinion, which may be a bit subjective, even though I write it a month after the fact. The rooms are correct, the breakfast abundant and varied, and the reception staff fantastic. Their help when returning to Athens allowed us to shorten the return trip by more than 4 hours. I think it is a good hotel to get closer to appreciating the beauty of Meteora.
Good choice in Kastraki as close to the monasteries but not crazy busy. The hotel is small and friendly. We had a reasonably large room with a small balcony and decent bathroom. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful. Breakfast was very good with superb coffee and local produce, including fresh pastries. Enough to fuel the walk up the steps to the monasteries and the viewpoints. We stayed for 3 nights and took our time visiting 4 of the monasteries. Most guests seemed to stay only 1 night here. The hotel restaurant, Senses, is more pan-European than the tavernas of the village and made a nice change for dinner. We also had a good quality lunch and pre-dinner cocktails. We appreciated the free gift of wine and the convenience of a fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. Can recommend this hotel and it was a relaxing, convenient place to stay.
Hotel Kastraki has the old charm. We had a nice and comfortable stay there. The staff gave us Meteora map and described each monastery and viewpoint, how to get there, etc. Everybody at Hotel Kastraki were friendly and always smiling. We booked a triple room. It’s got a balcony. The bed was comfortable. Towels and pillows were fresh and clean all the time. The bathroom is a little bit old and needing an upgrade though. I have never seen a hotel where floor is carefully washed each time. The cleaning lady did an amazing job. My husband walked with white socks in the hotel room, bathroom and balcony and socks had no trace of dirt at all, still very white. The breakfast was good. Everything we needed to start the day. We’re satisfied. There’s free parking in front of the hotel.

Excellent hotel near the rocks and monasteries. This boutique Hotel has 19 rooms right across the street from a very high rock where you can watch rock climbers. It is also very close to the monasteries and everything in town. The staff is exceptionally friendly with great service. The rooms are charming with a nice patio and clean. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re staying in this area.
The hotel at the foot of the mountain city, the staff was very warm, temporarily set a night, the scenery was beautiful, many stars lived, there was no elevator, to carry the box upstairs, the bathroom shower room was half glass fence, take a bath bathroom everywhere Water, breakfast is OK.

Megalo Meteoro Monastery
燃燃烧生命的小胖妞The idiom "Sky Pavilion" is probably known to everyone, but witnessing the sky church with your own eyes may not be possible, even for tourists who have been to Greece. Chinese tourists are more likely to board the island of Creek or hang on the Aegean Sea, and the Meteora Monastery in the central hinterland of Greece. Few Chinese tourists visit. "Meteora" in Greek means "hanging in the air", which is the difference between many of Meteora's monasteries.
Psaropetra Lookout
乖乖小咪The viewing platform of Meteora is high up, and you can take in the beautiful scenery of the entire Meteora. The view here is very wide, and several monasteries on the top of Meteora are clearly visible. It is an excellent viewing location and very suitable for taking pictures.
Monastery of Varlaam
1137***66The monastery was named after its founder, the ascetic monastery Varam, and is famous. It was abandoned for two hundred years, and it was preserved until two wealthy monastery refinanced its transformation. A suspension bridge between two boulders was erected to enter the monastery. Before entering, the lady had to surround the square cloth provided by the monastery and make the skirt. The small courtyard was exquisite and beautiful, and the sun changed its dreamy color on the simple window glass. Here I saw the monk for the first time. It happened that the craftsman was working, and you could see that the walls of the Byzantine building were built like this.
Holy Monastery of Rousanos - Saint Barbara
崂崂山顽石The Holy Monastery of Rousanou or Varvaras was built in the mid-16th century. It is built on a steep mountain with a small wooden bridge connecting to the outside world and the highway below.
The monastery features a small wooden bridge leading to the courtyard, a wonderful structure on the steep cliff, a cathedral decorated with stained glass, and exquisite murals of Resurrection and Transfiguration. There are now 16 nuns here. All monasteries have a ticket price of 3€, and photography is not allowed inside.
