Me and my partner have just returned from a long weekend stay and we were beyond excited for our trip. We had booked a private pool room as it was our anniversary and we thought that it would be a nice touch for us. When we checked in, we were given our room number and shown to our room. Once me and my partner stepped outside onto the terrace, we noticed that we had been given a sharing pool room and not the private pool room that we had booked. I went down by myself to speak to the man on reception to explain that we were not in the room we had booked and being an ex travel agent and someone who is currently working for a huge holiday company, I knew that this was not correct. The man on reception said to me that there was nothing he could do about it and insisted that the room we had been given, the sharing pool room, was more expensive and therefore better. When I returned to the room, I searched up both rooms on the website to find out that both rooms were in fact the same price and I was a little frustrated with the way the man had spoken to me. Me and my partner then went back to reception and when I was asking the man questions, he was answering them but looking at my boyfriend and not me, the person who was speaking, which both of us found extremely rude. The man could not say why we weren’t given the correct room and why we could not have this room that we had booked. He did however tell us to return to reception the following morning to discuss it then, which we did. The lady we spoke to the following morning was wonderful, she explained to us that it was an error on their end and that someone had been given our room by accident. She apologised profusely and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. We appreciated her honesty and although we weren’t happy with the room change and how we weren’t told prior to finding out ourselves, she did definitely make the situation better with her honesty. One thing I will mention about the sharing pool room is that the pool is not heated like the main pool during October. Having paid more money for this room than a standard room, you would hope that the pool would be treated the same as the main pool. The pool felt like it was as cold as ice and this meant that we rarely used the pool which was once again frustrating. On our final day, our flight home wasn’t until 11pm so we had booked a standard room as we had to check out of our original room at 12 and we wanted somewhere to put all of our belongings and somewhere to shower before the flight. The only thing we noticed about this room was that when we were showering, if you turned the water warmer, the pressure would get worse to the point that if you put the water fully onto hot, the water would quite literally just trickle out. Im not sure if this was an issue with just this room or all of the standard rooms and although it didn’t bother us too much as we were only there for one day, it may have if we were there for longer. I will start with positives staff are so friendly and nice, the food was as expected for all inclusive but well stocked i always went to what ever was being freshly cooked like omelettes or pancakes in morning, usually a meat with some gravy lunch and dinner but kids had whatever was on offer and didn’t complain, I would recommend going before 9am for breakfast as for some reason it gets really busy at 9am and will struggle to get a table, but tables were cleared by staff instantly so never had wait more than few moments, go lunch at 12 as similar and gets very hot we were very lucky to of always managed to get table at back which had doors that opened letting in a lovely breeze. The room was a bit dated for a 4* but adequate as only really slept in it and had air con and a fridge to store water, the water park is great kids loved it, evening entertainment that we went to was really good, we saw the back street boys tribute band and some opera singers. Daytime was good the animation team worked tirelessly water aerobics was fun, and water polo various games always going on. I think the only negative is the layout of hotel as seems to be constantly walking and only 1 bar in evening in main hotel when the entertainment was over the other side and which always had a queue it does state only 1 drink per person but we always got 2 at a time never had a issue. But daytime at snack bar pool was fine as had 2 bars so never had wait that long. But my biggest issue was the bed’s in room 307 in main building are so hard they did give us toppers which helped so ask if have same issue or upgrade room as when saw room across from us had big comfy looking sofa and lovely view I wish we had upgraded. Glad we only booked 7 days i think 2 weeks would of got really tiresome with all the walking, Rhodes old town was amazing we went most days and has a gorgeous little sandy cove, we also went on a sunset cruise with argo which was the highlight of holiday. Everyone is so friendly loved Rhodes will definitely come back.

Just returning from a week’s family break at Electra, which was a lovely hotel with lots of positives. The pool is huge and really great. Lots of room for floats, ball games or chilling. The pool bar in the middle is huge with lots of comfy sofas to sit as well. The pool design is really good with lots of different areas to suit all. There were plenty of sun beds available, people were by the pool early and the big cabana style beds went quickly but there was always somewhere to base yourself. We preferred sitting the other side of the hotel by the sea and then walking back over to the pool when we wanted a dip. There were plenty of beds and umbrellas free by the sea or garden area of hotel and a lovely breeze. The jacuzzi that side was great for cooling off in too. The pool/sea are huge draws of this hotel and rightly so. The hotel was really clean throughout and had lots of good inside/outside areas. The room we had for two adults and a teenager was a pool view double and was definitely on the small side but manageable if you stagger getting dressed/ready etc. The bars were good - different drinks at each bar and there were was a mix of branded and non branded drinks. The day bar by the sea was great and not busy. Shout out to Billy and Lary in particular at the bars, they were lovely - but really all the staff were welcoming. The food in main dining area was good, breakfast was the highlight. Busy and noisy but only what you’d expect from an all inclusive in peak holiday. The bakery was marvellous for a little snack during day instead of a full lunch sitting. We used this a lot. The area is fairly remote which we knew before arriving. We walked the 10 minutes down to Ialysos where there were some tourist shops and restaurants but apart from that you would need transport to get about. The buses to Rhodes from the hotel were good and regular and we used these a couple of times. We went to the Faliraki Water Park but organised this through a company in Ialysos as it was good value. Small negatives were the towel system didn’t seem sensible and the tea/coffee in your room wasn’t replenished which was unusual, even on asking. But these were small things that didn’t detract from our overall holiday. Lovely stay and lovely hotel.
