Just a fabulous break from start to end. The hotel and staff completely exceeded our expectations. On arrival we were so impressed - we were met outside, luggage taken off us and sat down with a glass of champagne to complete our room paperwork. We were then taken to our room and were over the moon to receive an upgrade to a suite with hot tub, it was just beautiful. This was our first break as a couple and we were a bit nervous about the hotel being too quiet and formal. It just wasn’t the case at all! The vibe was perfect, beautiful surroundings but not stuffy at all and the right balance of everything to make you feel spoilt in a quality environment without feeling uncomfortable. We enjoyed all the food - our favourite was the food truck, gyros were incredible! We loved the main restaurant and always found something different to enjoy and found the flavours and quality great. The entertainment team are so fantastic, so funny and engaging. Throughout the day there are loads of games to get involved in and we had a right laugh with them. There is lots of different entertainment every night around h thee resort too so something for all moods. We were really happy to find the main pool bar is a swim up too, we couldn’t stay away! Overall this is a truly fantastic hotel and you’d have to be very picky to fault it. We’d definitely go back however with so much of the world to see may instead look at other Iberostars. We really did have a great holiday though so thank you to all the staff for making us so welcome! The only things to consider if you book: Get a taxi from Chania or an express transfer! We got the coach on the way in and it was 3 hours, just too long. We shared a taxi back with a couple we met and that was about 110 euros total for all of us. There are no irons in the bedroom! That got me quite stressed out. Reception initially told me our only option was to get clothes pressed and pay however we found out a few days later there is one iron going round the hotel and managed to get our hands on it! We visited Panoromos which was pretty but really not a lot there. Another couple went to Rethymnon, we regretted not going! You can get the bus there and back for a couple of euros every half hour and takes 40 mins. There’s a shop at the hotel that sells snacks, drinks, cigarettes we found handy!

This hotel has an absolutely wonderful staff team from the humblest new member of staff up to and including the hotel manager and in fact they simply are one team with the ethos of being helpful, friendly, welcoming and determined to ensure every customer has an excellent holiday experience. We have just completed our 14th visit and as a traveller with a disability and mobility issues I can only say that the staff showed great consideration and empathy in ensuring these issues were secondary to having a great holiday, for which I thank them. Our accommodation was lovely, clean and comfortable, well-maintained and with great views, which most rooms have. Food was very good with plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner and lunches were more than adequate whether in the main dining room, the main pool cafe/bar or even the snacks at the seafront Star Cafe, and all served with a smile, even if they are self service. All inclusive customers could also book Zorbas restaurant once per week and/or the barbeque at Lavri's on the same basis both of which are well worth a visit. During the day there are a number of mainly salt water pools to choose from, with a variety of activities around the main pool provided by a tireless Animation Team. There are plenty of sunbeds, now with 'reservation restrictions' around the pools plus many more around the site so you will always find one , if not quite where you want it. Each pool has a nearby cafe for soft drinks and limited alcohol during the day plus there are two artificial bays where there is safe swimming and sunbeds and beach space. One such bay is below the Star Cafe with its snacks, beverages and limited alcoholic drinks. The main bar is by the Lobby, with its external balcony seating, internalseating and experienced bar staff and waiter service. It serves a wide range of local alcoholic drinks as well as somepremium ones and beverages if required. There is entertainment most evenings either on the balcony area or indoors if necessary and is usually very good. The nearby Calypso Bar stays open for a further hour until 01.00 and provides beers and cocktails as well as music and a dance floor and like the main bar is staffed by fabulous and experienced staff who add to your enjoyment. The grounds are colourful, floral and well maintained throughout the year adding to the beauty of the place. On most evenings there is entertainment in the main outdoor theatre from either a professional act or more commonly from an Animation Team of great energy who may not be professional dancers or entertainers,butyou wouldnot notice at times as they put in so much effort to get it right. Overall you can expect a lot here and you will not be disappointed providing you make use of every opportunity and see everything in an open and holistic way.

Just got back from a week at this hotel, As we arrived after 9 hours of travelling, we were greeted in reception by Tomos, and asked to have a seat, after about 15 minutes, we were told our room had plumbing problems and they’d booked us into another hotel around 15 minutes car drive away, we were offered a free meal to compensate, as you can imagine we were very upset, as we were extremely tired and we’d paid £3500 for a 7 nights in this hotel, after we made several phone calls to Jer2 customers services, and jet2 speaking with the hotel manager, a room became available?!? We didn’t get any explanation as to why this wasn’t found in the 1st place, and found it very strange why they would prefer to ship us off to another hotel for the night, rather than give us the room that was available, because of this we didn’t get the proper check in we should of have, no information was given about the hotel facilities and left us feeling very upset! We did enjoy the rest of our holiday tho, the majority of the staff were amazing, Food was lovely, and the hotel facilities were amazing (we loved the spa) I found the onsite shop very expensive, we were charged £11 for some paracetamol (so don’t forget to pack some)! Theres no real beach near the hotel, just a man made beach at the sister hotel which you can use if you want. It’s a 8€ taxi ride to the nearest village which has a number of restaurants, and it a 27€ taxi ride (one way) to the nearest town which is worth a visit. There’s no places near the hotel where you can walk to though, so if you like a to be in the middle of everything, this isn’t the place for you. Not sure if I would return, unfortunately the “problem” we had when we arrived did leave spoil the experience.

We stayed for 10 days on a full board basis at the beginning of September. We travelled as a couple. I must say that prior to leaving, after reading some of the reviews, we were concerned. We have been lucky to stay in some fantastic hotels throughout Greece and were looking for a relaxing hotel with great staff and excellent food. Our room was comfortable, the A/C was very good (it was very hot and humid during our stay) and the products available in the bathroom great. We could always get a sunbed where we wanted and there was always plenty of clean towels for us to use. The adults only pool was relaxing and quiet and a great spot for the aqua aerobics which myself and my husband enjoyed. I used the gym, which although basic, had enough equipment to give you an all round workout and I also used the spa for a massage. The lunch at the pool was absolutely superb, being full board we could choose pretty much everything and every dish we had was simply fantastic, we couldn’t fault it. We had amazing seafood Orzo, mussels in a most amazing sauce and superb pasta dishes, we couldn’t fault anything. Every lunch was served by friendly, welcoming and professional staff, the heat in the kitchen must have been phenomenal, but the quality and presentation never faltered. We also paid extra for the Menu degustation and wine pairing as a treat one evening and had a superb 6 course meal, all beautifully cooked and presented accompanied by generous wine pairing, all served by a great team. The drinks although good quality, could do with a different style of presentation at each bar, and the Gin and tonics would benefit from a different style of presentation and different aromatics just to make it a bit different. Breakfast was really good, absolutely everything you could ask for, great variety. We found that for the evening meal, the grilled meat on the meat counter was always pop fantastic, the quality of the food is good, however the variety and choice some evenings could be improved. The salads were very samey and a little more variety would be good. The evening entertainment at the hotel was not really apparent, we went into Panormas by the little train that stops outside the hotel and had some drinks there and we also used the sister hotel over the road for drinks (fabulous drinks and choice) and they also had some pleasant live music. You can also use the facilities at this hotel should you wish. The grounds in the garden were really well planted and kept really lovely and tidy. One suggestion would be for the hotel to allow a discount in the a la carte restaurants / event evenings if you are on a HB basis Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return. It was very relaxing, the staff worked very hard to look after everyone and the lunch time meals were delicious and we would recommend staying here.

We went to Crete on the 14th to 24 th September and stayed at Marine Palace. Our room was upgraded and we had a “bungalow” overlooking the pool and sea. Our room was a family room although there was only the two of us so we had a spare room. Very useful. The all inclusive was great with a choice of speciality restaurants. Although they say you can visit these restaurants only once every 7 days if there is availability you can go more often. We went 5 times in 10 days. The main restaurant had a big selection of food but was much busier so we preferred the smaller speciality ones. Fantastic choice of wines to suit every taste. You can also upgrade drinks which we never felt was necessary. The very best thing about Marine Palace is its staff. Ina was always around in the mornings and lunchtimes and always very warm and welcoming. Krysa and her sister Zacharina were lots of fun and so helpful. Zacharina’s friend in the Italian Restaurant looked after us so well. Sorry didn’t get her name. Marina was another fun and friendly girl. The staff in the main bar were fantastic and we never waited long for a drink. Ioanna was super efficient and she could reduce a queue very quickly. I can see her managing an hotel in the next few years. Highly recommend this hotel and would advise people to download the Grecotel app and register before you arrive as this saves so much time at reception. The app also contains lots of useful information and you can even book the speciality restaurants in advance.
