Mysore Palace
风风的呢喃1963Day 17 of the India trip - Wandering around Mysore
March 10, 2019 Sunny 35 degrees
Since entering India on February 22, the temperature has never been lower than 30 degrees, and every day I feel like I am in the Flaming Mountain.
Although Mysore is a little further south than Hampi, the temperature is slightly milder than Hampi, of course, it is also around 35 degrees.
There are not many attractions in Mysore, except for the palace.
It is said that there is a temple on the mountain, which is very famous. But I really don’t want to climb the mountain to see the temple in this scorching sun.
That’s it, go shopping in the market.
Devaraja market in Mysore is very famous locally, with a lot of vegetables, fruits, spices, clothes and other items, but maybe because it’s Sunday, many stalls are not open.
I looked at it and found that the variety of vegetables is not rich, mostly root vegetables, and there are very few green leafy vegetables.
The price is very low, and I bought 10 naturally ripened tomatoes for 10 rupees! I doubt whether the vendor has calculated it wrong~~~~ It’s only one yuan in RMB. [grin]
After leaving the market, I called a tuk-tuk to Mysore University. It is said that there is a museum inside. The car arrived at the school gate. It was closed on Sunday.
The bus to Cochin at 18:25 in the evening, sat in the palace to kill time, at least it was not exposed to the sun.
The Mysore Palace is really friendly to the people. Except for the exhibition of treasures inside, which charges an entrance fee of 50 rupees (equivalent to RMB 5), the square, hall, garden, etc. of the palace are all open. Anyone can enter and exit freely after security check. You can sit and lie in the courtyard where the princes and ministers stayed in the past.
Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens
__We***94Foreigners are tickets for 60 Indian Rs. There are a small number of animals that live in our country or our zoos also have, most of their lives in India or other regions and countries. The zoo is quite big, I watched it for three or four hours... Every animal has a explaining card outside the cage, which is very detailed. If you have time, you may as well come and see!
MYSURU RAILWAY MUSEUM
EEddies888Visit the Railway Museum to learn about the development of railways in India. Since trains play an important transportation hub in India, railway development has changed greatly from ancient times to the present. The museum has a lot of train types and machinery, which are worth paying attention.
Chamundi Hill
Ssuifeng2019Chamondi Hill is 1062 meters above sea level. From here you can overlook the whole view of Mysore. There is a temple on the hill. Many people line up every day. It is said that the gods here are very effective. There are also many monkeys on the hill.
Sand Museum Mysuru
小小虫寵The sand sculpture museum itself is very nice, it is run by the artist's parents, the sculptures are amazing, there are a few shops inside where you can buy snacks and drinks. The museum is located next to a mountain trail and is open from 8am to 6pm.
Karanji Lake
小小虫寵Karaj Lake Park has boating, a children's playground, a bird park and a peacock park. I went there just to look for butterflies, but unfortunately there is no special butterfly house. There is a bird-watching tower, and the lake itself is not big, with too many weeds, and the tourists are mainly locals.
Sri Chamundeshwari Temple
小小虫寵The road to the temple is lined with souvenir vendors selling a variety of cheap plastic toys and trinkets. The queue for the temple is long and the temple is located on the top of the mountain. The view of Mysore from here is beautiful. It is recommended to arrive early and be careful of local sales.
