GGuest UserAbsolutely amazing our stay at this hotel. After 2 rough nights in others hotels this was a cherry on the top. It was my husband and I anniversary so we decided to booked this hotel to chill and enjoy our time. Staff were nice at the lobby, hotel comes with free parking, lobby was very nice and stylish, room were spacious and super modern, free buffet style breakfast A+++ and for 30 dollars extra you could use the sauna, steam and massage facility. Hotel its in downtown selfoss so everything was nearby and it's such a cute little town. I definitely recommend this hotel worth the extra money.
BbechelceGreat location and nice view from our king room with river view. Bed was comfy and room was very clean. Desk personnel were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I can't comment on the value, as it was part of a package tour as prices were not broken out of total, but we would definitely stay there again. We had prepaid for breakfast, which was excellent, but we did not otherwise dine at the hotel restaurant, so can't comment on that.
Good hostel to stay during a round trip in Iceland. We stayed here for 3 days and we enjoyed our stay. The facilities are great! The kitchen and multiple bathrooms are modern and clean. There even is a hottub that's free to use. The nearest restaurants and stores are a 20 minute drive to Selfoss centre. Would definitely recommend!
GGuest UserDisadvantages: The hotel room and floor are very dusty and not clean. The room was not soundproofed, and other tenants spoke in the corridor, and they heard it clearly. Although the hotel advertises as a five-star hotel, breakfast is actually not as good as the Guest house and three-star hotel we stayed in on this trip in bread, yogurt and so on.
Pros: Breakfast included, bathtub is large. The size of the room is OK in American country style.
When I checked out, oolong was also seen as other tenants signing more than 40,000 local currency dinners in my room number. Fortunately, another service staff immediately said that it was okay.
GgcherryVery clean, self-check-in (the key with the name is in the data bag at the front desk), there is a shoe rack at the door, shoes can not be worn in, so remember to bring slippers. The shower has a door but there is no glue strip below so the water will flow out. The breakfast quality is very good. Overall will recommend to friends.
Excellent stopover on the Ring Road. Big apartment with everything needed in it. Easy to locate and parking is in front of the building. We had the room on the 2nd floor and it was very private and quiet. 4 comfortable beds spread through the apartment and room. Heaters worked very well as that night we stayed was so windy, cold and wet that we couldn't get out for a walk around the area. Do note that no ameneities nearby except a drive 20mins to the nearest town. Good WiFi cover and we had a blast making dinner in the kitchen. The sea is just meters away in the back of the building.
SSeaside27880083098We had a nice night at Country Dream. Our room although not large, was comfortable. we had 1 bedroom and a pull out sofa.... but wait.... The pull out sofa was not like any normal one where you have to pull everything off and have a bar in your back, it was a case of simply pulling a cord and the whole sofa turned upside down into a bed that was as comfortable as the bed in the bedroom. It took 20 seconds to pull out the bed and 20 seconds to put it back the next morning. The room had a small kitchenette which was adequate for cooking a simple meal. There was also a hot tub available to use with our room. As a bonus, we were invited to go into the stable to visit the owner's very friendly Icelandic horses. He also organised for a beautiful Icelandic Sheepdog to come and visit us. Country Dream is on a horse farm about 5 - 15 minutes drive from the main road between Geysir and Selfoss depending on the conditions. In the right conditions, it would give a great opportunity to see the Northern lights. If you are staying here in winter, I recommend that you ask your rental car company to provide you with a car with metal beads (studs) in the tyres as the road was very icy when we left due to rainfall and freezing temperatures.
GGuest UserThe room is large enough to open two 29 inches luggages. In general, it is good, but greater if towels can be cleaner. Location is great. 5 minutes walk to supermarket, fast food, restaurants. Gas station is nearby. A few free parking in front of hotel entrance.
