GGuest UserIf you do to Lake Como stay in LECCO. I loved this town. It is on the right arm of the Y on lake como. The town isn't touristy and that is what I loved. The only downside was the heat. It was the hottest week in July with temps well over 95 everyday. We had a JR Suite and it was clean and served it purpose. The breakfast was amazing. Those eggs! The only thing was the a/c wasn't that good but I do understand the temps were not normal so I am not holding that against them. Go to this city it is authentic, not touristy and absolutely beautiful!
RRosie113I stayed for one night at the end of July in summer for 1152 Hong Kong dollars. The room was very clean. It is located on the edge of Lake Como. It is a family business B&B with few rooms. There is a restaurant in front of the owner's house that tastes good. The attitude is average, no enthusiasm and no poor care. He didn't give me a big bath towel when he gave us the room. It was already very inconvenient for me to use a small towel to wipe after taking a shower. After I checked out, he chased me and said that I took two big towels. Although it was a misunderstanding, I think the EQ of running a small shop is really low. Next time, don't be greedy for cheapness. There are still many choices for B&Bs under 2000 Hong Kong dollars.
Modern yet cosy and authentic rooms in refurbished old house in the centre of town. Good communication with owner. Clean, and with nice restaurant below. Room had all amenities we expected. Mandello is a good choice to stay by Lake Como without the high prices of the most famous towns.
MMarta/The hotel is located in the centre of the city.
Unfortunately, the structure is very negligible, I booked 2 double rooms and the following applies to both rooms: wind airing bathroom not working, strong smell of wet throughout the room, Bathroom door box with wooden wood because of the closeness to the shower.
I gave the living to a couple of friends who traveled with me, we still sleeped well, but the figure is not the same as it made this structure a couple of years ago.
We chose to stay in this hotel to visit the Lake Como. The hotel is top, excellent comfort, the pool is very large with little sweet music, many transactions, wallpapers provided without caution, we are allowed to access it on a beautiful beach, breakfast is excellent and very Complete. Not forget parking with direct access by lift to the various floors of the hotel. Nothing to re-to-repeat was perfect. We go back tomorrow morning the holidays are finished 😪 PS. We also tested the restaurant that is very good.
GGo49900713418The hotel has fantastic views over the lake but outside of building very tatty. Staff are very nice and helpful. The room we had was basic only 5 hangers for 2 people no wardrobe just some stainless steel poles with hangers on which slide off as no stopper on end of pole every time you get something from back the front items fall off which was very annoying. Only 2 small draws that you could only get a couple of pairs of pants & socks in which is ridiculous if you’re staying longer than a couple of nights. The bed was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very nice lots of choices. Fantastic view from breakfast room. Be warned if you have booked with Newmarket Holidays you have a 1 hour 30 minute coach ride to meet other holiday makers that are staying in Tremezzo before even get to we’re your going visit travel time added on so you will be on coach a long as we were. There is No swimming pool that Newmarket say there is just a hot tub. Newmarkets tour manager Monica was the worse tour manager we have ever had nothing was ever her fault, every time we had to meet her she was at least 45 minutes late and did not seem to know anything about the trips she was taking us on.
GGuest UserThe room and bed were very clean. Staff was extremely kind and helpful- I was nervous about the check-in since it was during a limited time frame but the staff were very communicative. The second hotel where you check in is right on the next block and takes less than a minute to walk to. The train station is only a couple of minutes walk away and a big positive. Only drawbacks were that the walls were a bit thin and there seemed to be a bar closer to the lake that was hosting a concert on one of the nights we were there and we could hear it in our room. We were tired so we slept through it but for light sleepers during peak travel time it might be an issue. I personally would stay here again.
PLEASE NOTE….. this is not a 4 star hotel. I really don’t know how this has been classed as 4 star. We stayed a week and what a poor show it was. You can see from my photos how bad it was. We stayed on a half board basis with a wine tasting experience. Certainly was an experience 😂. Basically you were given three glasses of cheap wine. A white, red and rose, all at once. It was poured like water from a bucket. No explanation of what wine or where from. Breakfast was awful. The most depressing breakfast room and all the food that should have been hot was cold as no terrines to keep it warm, only a measly lamp that was hardly warm. Croissants were dry, as was the bread and some of the cakes. No fruit apart from the palest water melon I’ve ever seen. There was coffee in the hot water container and water in the milk container. Some of the tables weren’t laid and if they were, ours on most mornings only had a knife, a cake fork and a teaspoon 😂. Chairs were all over the place and it was far from organised. The two guys in the dining room at dinner had no customer service skills or hospitality skills. I think they were just “winging” it. The food was very poor….apart from the pizza which was ok. There is no bar in the lounge area, which is actually in the breakfast dining room. Consists of only four easy chairs! On the second floor landing area an empty wine bottle stood on the floor most of the week…not taken away. Our shower had mould. We have travelled the world and stayed in 3, 4 and 5 star hotels and this one was the worst. The only thing good about this hotel is the location, but do your research, as I’m sure there are more places to stay in the same area.
