"Although somebody may prefer higher-order accommodation, this hotel is very very great for me and my family.
Located just in front of JR Shiretoko Shari Station, it can be very convenient for me and my family to catch a train to somewhere else.
The other excellence of the hotel is that there is a convenience store just across the zebra line.
The hotel staff, from front desk receptionist to housekeepers, they all tried their best to answer my questions and make up my room.
The price of the hotel is quite reasonable. I stayed there for consecutively 8 nights, I found that the price if very very reasonable."
"This is *the* must-stay hotel in Shiretoko, hands down. I discovered it through a COCOGO Travel video on Bilibili, and its serene, tranquil, and natural vibe instantly captivated me, making me determined to visit.
Shiretoko in summer is all about forests, hot springs, lakes, wild brown bears, and Ainu culture. Here, everything lives in elegant harmony with nature, allowing you to experience its magnificent landscapes firsthand.
The hotel's decor beautifully reflects the local culture. They offer complimentary ice cream and an open bar with free-flowing drinks. Both breakfast and dinner feature carefully selected local ingredients; while portions aren't huge, they are incredibly refined and exquisite.
From the hotel's onsen and authentic Finnish Löyly sauna, you can gaze out over the Shiretoko mountains and the Sea of Okhotsk. The breathtaking views are sure to lift your spirits and leave you feeling refreshed."
"Even though it's along the national highway, it's surrounded by forest, which is really nice. The sauna had cold water, but the thick bath next to it was great. It was my first time trying bogeys, but by the time I had gone around two laps, I was doing corner work while spinning. Even at this time of year, it was cold at night, so I lit a fire and enjoyed the rocking and watched the cups.
Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture, was very humid, but Shari Town was great with no humidity. Thank you. I'll come again."
"Loved it. Really comfy lounge area with floor to ceiling windows ocean view which invites you to sit down and relax. Kitchen next to it was open clean and functional. Room was basic with toilet and vanity area but again faced the ocean with floor to ceiling windows which made it special. Again onsen had the same views with sauna and cold bath. For those with no cara bit of a walk into town. Highly recommend."
"We love the ambience and everything about the hotel! Furnishing are very carefully and intentionally designed, really appreciated the overall cozyness we felt during our stay. Sadly we had to give the bathhouse a miss due to our schedule, but we enjoyed our stay regardless.
The only confusion we had was the check in/check out timing — the hotel page says check out is 11am, but we got a phone call at 10am telling us we’ve exceeded the check out timing. Page also mentions check in by 6pm, but we were only able to arrive at 9pm+ due to our flight and car rental processes, hence we checked in multiple times with the hotel. They were kind enough to assure us to drive safely as we can check in any time."
"Hotels in Shiretoko are quite expensive, especially in the peak season in winter, so I chose this one on the mountain. It takes 20 minutes to walk to the 711 supermarket at the foot of the mountain, and it also takes 20 minutes to walk to the nearest restaurant. There is nothing nearby. Fortunately, the hotel has free shuttle to the BUS station (you need to call), and I drove a domestic 1 million alpha to pick me up, and the ride experience was not bad. The next day I went to Shiretoko for hiking, and they could also pick me up directly at the hotel, which was pretty good.
I booked a Japanese tatami room, which happened to be on the second floor of the new building, facing the yard. The room was very comfortable and spacious. There are public washing machines, tea machines, and ice machines--I love them. The hot spring is also good, not crowded, and larger than the hotel in Abashiri.
The breakfast is a set meal, which is okay, and you need to book a time in advance. I don’t know if it’s because of the peak season of the Spring Festival, but the two front desks are Chinese and easy to communicate."
"The space is very large. It is more than enough to live in a family. Plus the kitchen can cook by yourself. It is quite cost-effective for this price.
I lived quite satisfied two years ago and came back again. There are some changes. The kitchen no longer provides simple seasonings. You need to bring your own."
"One night with two meals, priced around 2300.
1. The room was very spacious and spotless, and they even provided complimentary snacks. There was also a good selection of tea bags and coffee.
2. The view from the room was absolutely stunning.
3. The hot spring baths were large, and not crowded at all, neither in the morning nor at night.
4. Both breakfast and dinner were fantastic. I can't understand why some people say breakfast isn't good, haha, maybe I just haven't seen much of the world! Since I can't eat raw food, I can only say I thoroughly enjoyed all the cooked dishes.
5. The weather in early August was perfect – not too hot, not too cold, just incredibly comfortable. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
6. The hotel's front desk had a signboard with lots of useful information.
7. The hotel shop offered tax-free shopping. I bought a super cute bear bell, and the prices inside were similar to those outside."
"The service staff are very polite, smiling and can communicate in English. The room is large and comfortable; free drinks are provided in the lobby, and you can also enjoy a private hot spring session for free. The scenery outside the hotel is beautiful and you can watch the sunset."
