"This is a somewhat older, traditional Japanese-style hotel. The lobby boasts grand and beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning lake views. The lower level offers a wide range of entertainment facilities and good drinks. However, the rooms and facilities are a bit dated. The majority of guests are Japanese families. The restaurant provides excellent lake views. Breakfast and dinner were decent but nothing to write home about. Given the limited dining options around Lake Toya, eating at the hotel is the most hassle-free choice."

"Booked a room with private onsen and shared amongst 3 friends. There is valet parking upon arrival, and complimentary drinks and simple snacks at the welcome lounge between 3-10pm. They had a harpist perform at the lounge and dinner sometimes, it was very peaceful! Room was nice and comfortable, facing a nice view of lake Toya. Would have liked to be even closer to the lake as it turns out there is a field between the hotel and the lake. Temperature and size of private onsen js good, room facilities also great. Breakfast and dinner was wonderful, for dinner they serve a 6-7 course French styled meal on both nights made by Japanese ingredients. They had western and Japanese main plate options for breakfast with a buffet alongside too. Choices were plentiful and delicious. Staff generally very courteous and helpful, we had an issue with the hot water in our shower which they work very hard to fix. There was a random incident where one of the staff Yusaku was very rude to us at the Lumiere restaurant, he pretended not to understand English when taking our order for tea/ coffee, and even challenged us when we asked for lemon in tea, he said ‘what colleague?’ And ‘you want a piece of tea?’. Completely unacceptable for a hotel like this. The rest of the staff were nothing like that."

"I highly recommend this hotel! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the place is clean, and the owners are truly kind-hearted ❤️❤️. On my arrival yesterday morning, I stored my luggage there first. When I asked about the bus to the hot spring street, since it would take too long, the owner kindly drove me there himself. This morning, in my rush to catch the bus to the next city, I didn’t even realize I’d forgotten my iPad. The owner actually chased down the bus and returned it to me. "One of the more affordable onsen hotel along the lake. Small on price but definitely did not compromise on comfort and quality. Dated building but the bed and room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was full of options and delicision I stayed in a single room facing the mountain. Even though it was along the road, it was not noisy. Simple onsen, perfect for the cold weather Just outside the bus stop. The free fireworks displayed right in front of the hotel. One minus... Like many older onsen hotels in Japan, the carpets are dusty. It triggered my sneezing and I don't usually get allergic with dust!"

"The room on the first night was very good, and I didn't want to change rooms. But my order was for a four-person room for the second night (there were only two of us staying), so I had to check out first and then check in to another room. I communicated with the hotel customer service in English on Ctrip, and the response was very fast. But I was notified that I had to check out at 10 o'clock and check in to the new room at 4 pm. During the day, we went to Lake Toya and took a boat around the lake. There was an island in the lake, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, especially Mount Yotei, which was very beautiful. I also went to the Volcano Science Museum and watched the film commentary, which detailed the scenes before and after the two volcanic eruptions of Mount Usu in 1977 and 2000, the changes in the surface and the formation of hot springs (earphones were sent with Chinese explanations). It was 17:30 when I returned to the hotel, and I opened the email to check the new room number and door code. I was shocked after opening the door! The room is really big. There is a bedroom with two 1.5-meter beds (see Figure 2, we didn't use this room), and a room connected to the living room, which also has two 1.5-meter beds. Although the room is big, it is very warm and not cold at all, thanks to the powerful heater (see the last second picture). There are two large windows in the living room. In the morning, the sun shines directly on the bed and the dining table. Eating breakfast in the sun makes me feel sunny. The kitchen utensils are very new and more complete than the twin room last night. There are rice cookers and coffee machines. The dining table is very long and can accommodate 6 people. The smart toilet is also very warm. I really want to stay here and not leave. Before leaving, I would like to give the hotel three small suggestions: 1. The washbasin is low in height and needs to bend over to use it. The washbasin mirror is very mini and very high. When I stand on tiptoe when combing my hair, I can't see it (see Figure 8). 2. The bathroom is a bathtub. Can a shower base be added to the wall in front of the bathtub? Because we are all used to taking showers (see Figure 12). 3. The fully automatic washing machine is very good, but I couldn't find any detergent. I bought some detergent at 7-11 (see Figures 9 and 11) and washed a few pairs of fleece pants. The room temperature was high, and the clothes were all dry in the morning, which was great for us who still had to travel for more than ten days. When checking out, you can leave by flipping the sign on the door. With our luggage, we walked five minutes to the station and rushed to our next stop - Hakodate. Goodbye!"

"The hotel boasts a massive lobby with stunning lake views, which really makes up for the somewhat cramped and dated rooms. Its location is absolutely superb, not only offering beautiful views of Lake Toya but also having a bus stop right outside the hotel for transfers to and from Toya Station. This solves a major headache for tourists, as there are many online discussions about the infrequent public transport and difficulty hailing taxis around Lake Toya. Additionally, the hotel includes both breakfast and dinner buffets, which are incredibly rich, delicious, and offer a great mix of Japanese and Western options. At just over 1,000 for the room, it's excellent value for money. Highly recommended."

"Hotel is old but charming. Tatami style room is small tidy but not very clean (found 1 bed bug crawling around the comforter😱. Onsen is fine but looks aged. But hotel welcome drink when check in is unlimited beer and numerous types of sake is excellent. Hotel staff also very helpful and friendly"
