Lovely big room with a sitting area as well. Bathroom was huge with separate toilet area. Bathrobes n slippers were provided. We can actually see the lake and the fireworks from the room. No food provided but there’s a vending machine.
There’s a beautiful restaurant to have breakfast at the junction of the road leading up to the hotel with a beautiful garden and grounds.
It’s about 20 min downhill to the town but it’s worth the drive. There’s a Seicomart in town as well with ample free parking.
On the first day I arrived, I felt that the decoration and layout of the entire hotel room and the hotel area created an ancient Western pine forest environment. Staying here can definitely feel the tranquility of nature and make people feel relaxed physically and mentally.
The room has a terrace facing Lake Toya, offering a panoramic view of the entire lake. The bathroom has a large glass window that also faces the center of the lake, so you can enjoy the beautiful lake view while taking a bath.
Both breakfast and dinner are eaten in the hotel restaurant. The store manager cooks the treats himself. I chose Western style for dinner. The first bowl, soup, main course, and dessert are all in eight degrees. Everything is beautiful and beautiful. Can't record everything. Finally a cup of hot coffee. Perfect and endlessly memorable.
Check out after breakfast the next day. The store manager took the initiative to drive us to Toya JR Station. Very thoughtful.
All in all, this hotel brought us a freshness and surprise that we had never experienced before; an alternative experience. Give it a 100-point rating and deserve it.

The owner was very friendly. He bought us welcome gifts. He even informed us about the weather around the area. The scenery was fantastic as well, as you are greeted by lake toya the minute you step out of the house.
Overall it was a great experience and the owner was very hospitable and friendly, I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone interested in visiting lake toya or Niseko.

Outstanding
SStars and moonsExcellent location with amazing view. I must say we were very lucky on our last day two of the staff member are going above and beyond to assist us to change our shuttle bus from Lake Toya to Sapporo instead of going to the airport. The two staff on our last day was super helpful they call the shuttle bus company straight away to check and not just checking the paper . ( As we have been checking 2 days in the row with other staff member but all they did was checking the paper or system) I can clearly see the difference whether the staff willing to help or not, so we were very lucky to meet the 2 senior staff on our last day in the morning who quickly fix for us. Thank you so much!! Hotel can all be the same but it depends which staff member who are willing to go above and beyond which makes a huge difference to their customer.
LLoner TravellerThe view on Lake Toya from the hotel was spectacular. We were lucky to have witnessed the cloud sea and sunrise. From the other angle, we could see the full view of Mt Yotei, also known as Hokkaido Fuji. There are few restaurants in the hotel, including the Japanese, Chinese, French, and the Italian. There was also good onsen in the hotel, both idoor and outdoor. We will definitely come back to stay again in the future.
GGuest UserGreat view for our room and at night I see fireworks from our window. Room is big but a bit old. Bathroom is too small and tiny. Lobby and waiting room areas are nice , clean and comfy. Staffs in the morning are great . They can speak English. No much going on the main street , most shops aren’t open. Behind the hotel has an amazing view of the Toya Lake and in a distance you see Mt. Youteizon. A very relaxing walk and cruise ship comes and goes. We will come back for our vacation in the future.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a great location. You can enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Toya while sitting in front of the window. Although it is an old Japanese-style hotel, the front desk staff, from uncles to handsome guys, speak very good English. The hot spring is good and the tatami is comfortable.
GGuest UserClean and luxurious stay at this modern hotel. Like other reviews mentioned, there are some features that may be less than ideal (faucet fixed too near to bottom of sink making it hard to use, shower door unable to close fully and the bath area is open concept). Location is about 20mins away from where the other hotels are and where fireworks can be viewed. Overall a very nice hotel with impeccable service and touches (lovely yukata plus in-room toiletries/ amenities) but be mindful those as well as the modern design are what you are paying a premium for.
CChee KwanHotel is old but rooms are huge and functional. Reception is a little cold. Parking is free and comes with onsen. It is located beside lake Toya and we had a chance to see the fireworks at night.
Ssnorlax81hotel location is the best, in the centre of the daily night fireworks to view directly from hotel lobby. onsen at level 9 is the best, outdoor soaking at night with steam and daytime soaking experience are both perfect experience. breakfast and dinner are buffet style so you can choose your own dishes but both days breakfast and dinner dishes are the same. travel to hell valley using public bus directly outside the hotel and at toya train station is also very easy to navigate. highly recommend this hotel. only bad thing is aircon not working and need to open windows for air circulation and window is very big so not safe for children when sleeping at night. mattress on single bedframe is very lousy. sleeping on tatami is much more comfy. didn't bath using room bathroom because of the fabulous onsen. can rent yukata for free and return before 10am next day. has bingo game at night before fireworks to keep us occupied.
GGuest UserThe location is the best which just one minute walking distance to the bus terminal to/from Toya Station and in front of the ferry pier. Please see my photo. Perfect location. The front desk receptionist lady was friendly. I was placed to a lake view Japanese style room. It doesn't include shower but toilet in the room and it looks like old but I love the room. The view from the room's window to Lake Toya was excellent. I love my room's window can be opened, I could see more clear to the lake view and to have fresh air from outside by opening the window. Even it was a raining day, cloudy and frosty. The view is still spotless good. The service was good. The room was clean, tidy and come with all necessity, but bath/shower excluded. However, based on the price, I was happy with it because I don't mind to use the bathroom in the onsen area on floor one. There was only two down side that I found: First, the male onsen area floor was sticky and slippery with moss (My left hand accidentally touched it and my hand was sticked with moss in outdoor onsen area) that includes indoor and outdoor area. I wish they would take more effort to the cleanliness of onsen area. Second, the suana was not available for customer to use. However, I had a fantastic sauna and onsen in 万世閣 (a hotel where is just a few minutes walk away from Toya Grand Hotel) by a paying walk in onsen fee(1300 yen) for non-resident. So, it didn't affect me much.
Overall, my experience was good. I would give Toya Grand Hotel 8 out of 10. I love Toya Grand Hotel. I would recommend it.
GGuest UserWe absolutely loved staying here. We had a large Japanese style room with a view of the lake. You could watch the fireworks and see the sunsets. The hotel is set slightly apart from the other main hotels which is a positive. The baths were never busy and there was a small outdoor bath. We really enjoyed our stay here
