Lovely quirky cottage stay in a nice setting in the jungle. Great views of Mt Kinabalu. Handy tea gif shop with lots of variations. We loved the restaurant - The food was delicious with cheap prices and the staff accommodated for vegans. The beds were like rocks though and we didn’t sleep well. Wifi only at the small reception we’re you can buy beer..
A delightful place for a night. We stayed in the jungle lodge which is spacious, clean and comfortable. Fabulous king size bed, good air conditioning and beautiful bathroom. The room overlooks the carpark and there was noise from dogs squabbling over food. However the hotel staff swiftly sorted that out. The hotel team was friendly and helpful but we did misunderstand about the opening hours for the pool. We also had to wait until the room was inspected before we got our deposit back! A quirky rule! A highlight was the restaurant. Our package allowed us to have an a la carte menu and it was one of the best meals of our Sabah trip. Equally good was the breakfast. Refreshing not to have the ubiquitous breakfast buffet! Overall a lovely place.

The room is relatively new, simple and practical. The bed is a low bed that is slightly higher than the tatami. The bathroom door is relatively low, and I often hit my head on it. Even if I close the sliding door of the viewing balcony, some small insects often enter the room, which is quite annoying. In addition, there is moisture, and the sheets and quilts are a little damp, but it is acceptable. Advantages: There is a balcony with a large floor-to-ceiling window and a mountain view. You can watch the sunrise from your bed in the morning. Unfortunately, it was cloudy that day and I didn't see the wonderful sunrise. I fell asleep to the chirping of insects at night and it was foggy.

GGuest UserWe drove to Mount Kinabalu for 2 nights stay at the 1) Peak Lodge 1 & 2 , 2) Summit Lodge & 3) Garden Lodge. The accomodations are comfortable, niece ambience with fire place ,has slow or no wifi connection at all. Some improvement needed in Housekeeping cleaning. Shower room in Summit Lodge flooding as the floor trap was filled with dirt & hair. Shower room wall tiles are dirty. Awesome view of the Mount Kinabalu from our Lodges. Breakfast is at Liwagu Restaurant , it serves Asian Buffet. Dinner is Ala-Carte , food and service are good. For activities , around the Park , we make visit to the Botanical Garden and Poring Hot Spring and make a further drive down to Desa Dairy Farm at Kundasang. All in all it was a relaxing stay !!
KKhid AhmadLocation is very nice. Near to Kundasang village.
The hotel is recently renovated.
The view from the room is amazing.
There's a dinner buffet offered during our stay which is during Ramadan. They also cater Sahur or early breakfast.
Parking also not a problem.
Scenery around the hotel also very nice.
Overall very recommended place to stay if you visit Kundasang.
Mmantababeperfectly situation for mountain climb, the room shabby and i dont mean shabby chic. the receptionist was very nice but there was no record of our booking on their computer...despite receiving emails from the hotel and the booking being on my booking.com account-luckily they had rooms available. you could tell you had reached some altitude as when i took my packet of crisps out of my bag they had blown up-so idea place for spending time acclimatizing, although it didnt stop my nausea. the breakfast was very poor, no eggs as the kitchen was closed! but they still managed to produce noddles and rice. so we just had toast and cereals. there is a kettle in the room but you have to buy/supply your own tea/coffee ect. it is not far from the mountain start point so very handy. we did manage to get quite a good nights sleep, there was also a tiny balcony which had a lovely view. there were a few steps to walk down to get to room and we were told what room we had but would been nice to have been shown which one as i struggled to find it and had to keep asking, and all they did was point.
GGuest UserI will definitely come again next time I have the chance!
The hotel is in an excellent location and has a very high cost-effectiveness! The locals who chartered our car all said it was good! You can overlook Mount Kinabalu, which is especially beautiful in the morning and evening. The cabins complement the natural scenery! The beds are clean and the rooms all have large balconies. The store has cats and dogs, they are gentle and friendly, and the dogs will escort you when you go out to climb the mountain. The boss is of Chinese descent, fluent in Chinese, and kind-hearted. Seeing that we have a family and it is inconvenient to have no car, he helped us buy bread and shared dinner. He insisted on not charging money and just said that we were visitors from afar.
Check-in precautions are as follows:
Animals: Most of the local cats and dogs in Mount Kinabalu are free-range and are more free to go out. It is difficult to tell whether they are stray or not. Although most of them are friendly, it is best to keep quiet, polite and keep a safe distance when encountering cats and dogs.
Food and Beverage: The hotel sells instant noodles and snacks. There is a dining table on the large terrace and you can borrow bowls and chopsticks, but there is no catering service.
Transportation: It is more convenient to have a car to travel to Mount Kinabalu, but driving in the mountains requires driving skills, car condition and power. We chartered a car for two days, including pick-up and tours. We did not charter a car for one day and rested in the hotel.
Facilities: Don't expect too much from the hotel's hardware and software. For example, the curtains in our room seemed to have been damaged by the previous guests and have not been replaced or decontaminated. The main purpose of coming to the mountains is to experience the natural scenery.
AAnonymous UserYou can see the mountain from the room balcony. Will surely come back to enjoy that view again. Room was clean. The bathroom is outside (next to the balcony), so at night when you want to bath, bugs and moths will be everywhere.
MmariotraI loved my stay at this resort. Its location is fantastic! I was looking to disconnect and relax - and that’s precisely what I got! It is situated on top of a hill and it is completely surrounded by nature. The room was great! It had a TV, a nice bathroom and a big and comfortable bed. I loved the wet Mee Hoon with seafood at the restaurant. All in all, it’s an ideal place to relax, stay a bit away from the noise of the city and enjoy the lovely views of Mount Kinabalu and the surroundings. Many thanks to the staff for making this experience awesome!
GGuest UserWe stayed here for a couple of nights and it is in a very quiet location with good views of the surrounding areas. It's a bit out of the way so might suit people who have their own transport although they do offer a shuttle service. In fact they were amazing with this, The manager dropped us off at Kinabalu Park and someone collected us later. They also took us into town a couple of times and picked us up. There is a kitchen area to store and prepare your own food but there is no restaurant or provided breakfast. The rooms were comfortable enough and I think it would be an amazing place for the meditation retreats once they start up again. Free Wi-Fi available all over. I'm giving this 4 stars mainly because of the wonderful helpful staff who couldn't do enough for us.
NNanaSyakinahWe just wanted to try doing it in a capsule.. but this is the first time we've done it in a capsule.. the place is a bit scary.. but we'll try doing it in a tent later.. everything else is ok..
FFionaThe road to the location is quite high, luckily we use 4wd drive to get there. Still its reachable and easy to locate via waze. I saw the bad review about the cleanliness (i had second thought at first too but i booked it for the cheap price and my dad wanted to try a different place everytime we go to kundasang😂) but some improvements can be see. The room is quite comfortable and the toilet is clean with fuctioning heater. Still lacking in some amenities, 5 people room but only two towels were provided. The tv is under maintainence during our stay. We didnt use the wifi provided cause we bring our own, the coverage for dg and celcom is quite good. There is balcony in our room but my mom complain about the smoke that travel from other room as the balcony is not fully seperated. The view of Mout Kinabalu is right in front of our room BUT there is ongoing construction at front which will block the view in the future. However there is one balcony outside the building that can see the panorama of the Mount Kinabalu and Kundasang town. Definitely an A+ for the view. We brought our own food as we always do during our trip and I would recommend to bring your own as the place is quite far from town and the food there (i saw the food menu at reception) is quite pricey. Still it is a good experience and i would recommend other to stay there. I attached some photos of the view that can be seen from there
