"We washed and waiting our clothes to be dried in the dryer machine. It’s about room checkout time. The owner let us wait until the dryer completed, although it passed the check out time. We were grateful to her kindness and helpfulness very much. "
"The hotel's architecture and retro, the internal water hardware is also very retro, even the switch of the lights are very retro, very flavorful, people who want to experience different styles are welcome to try.
There are two bathrooms, the space is quite large, and there are shampoo and shower gel available.
There is no place to cook in the kitchen, just a simple toast and a hot water bottle."
"It’s a vintage hotel, I’m surprised with the lift which is very old type of lift, the design very pretty and retro. Room is quite spacious for 4 adults. The heater is very powerful and strong. The hotel is located near to the town center and precinct street, just a few minutes of walk can reach."
"While the room was on the smaller side, this was anticipated given that it doesn't offer a private bathroom. The listing indicated a 'separate toilet,' but in reality, it was just a washbasin within the room, and the toilet itself was shared. If privacy for facilities is important to you, I'd strongly advise against booking.
Parking was also a significant challenge. The hotel lacks its own car park, requiring guests to find street parking. There are only two spots directly outside the hotel, which are rarely vacant and can be used by non-guests too. The whole street is usually packed with parked cars, making it extremely difficult to find a space.
Opposite the hotel are private residences. We found the occupants to be quite rude; they aggressively told us not to park in any seemingly empty spots in front of their properties. This was the only instance of rudeness I encountered during my entire trip to New Zealand; every other local I met was incredibly friendly."
"Excellent location! Excellent layout! Excellent facilities! Everything you need. Average service. The toilet seat in room 3 is old and needs replacing."
"The room is well-equipped and a little old, but there is a suite with four beds, which is very suitable for family outings. The owner is warm and polite, and the transportation is conveniently located on the main road."
"The front desk is a Chinese male, the service is warm, the room is clean and sanitary, it is a bungalow, and there is no noise from the second floor. It is very close to the place where you can see penguins. There is a panda restaurant not far away that is very delicious. It is great to take it back to the hotel to eat."
"It's a very nice hotel with a friendly owner, large rooms, complete facilities, clean and sanitary, good location, convenient parking and cheap price. I highly recommend it to everyone."
"this was really a no frills motel, all amenities were there bur wldnt say was great, location not bad as city centre was a 5min drive away. we were there during winter but the heating was inadequate for a room as big as this... so that was not really satisfactory"
