It's very convenient both for hiking and skiing, as it is very easy to get from there to Tatra Mountains trails and ski lifts. Also, a very helpful lady at the main reception desk. The location is not bad, the shopping street outside the hotel, you can buy hand letters, there are different restaurants, about 15 minutes walk from the train station/bus station.
