TThiam MengWyndham Pitts has got to be commended for its central location and unblocked view of the Three River confluence, at a great price! Check in was smooth and travel to other parts of the city was very easy, with various amenities like 24h convenience stores and jazz bars within walking distance. One could also walk to the Andy Warhol museum through the majestic Three Sisters bridges and also the Duquesne Incline for a breathtaking view of the city. And finally the pool has a great view.
One could probably only complain about the aging furnishes with some cracked or *****ped wooden sections of the walls, and I thought it would be nicer to have a kettle in the room.

GGuest UserLocation was great. Hotel was nice and clean. Service was better than good. Strange layout for a hotel. I was quoted one night for $112 by Trip.com and yet was billed $161. How does that work?
AAmy MenginieLOVED this hotel!! Everything about it was excellent. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Clean room, great continental breakfasts each morning, etc. There were only a couple of small downsides that I wish they had that they didn't. Firstly, the room I stayed in, the toilet didn't work so great. It almost overflowed the first time I used it. I think it was an old toilet. And the mattresses were too soft for my taste. Also, we brought a playstation 4 with us so that we could play games online and watch netflix, but we were not able to connect to the wifi from the playstation due to the network firewall. But other than those minor things, it was a great stay!! We really enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back in the future!
TTravellerbychoiceHoliday Inn Express is a good hotel slightly away from the main Pittsburg city. It’s provides all the basic amenities, not a very high end but a god place for budget travellers. It was quite expensive during the college move-in days but cheaper than those near the university. Most shopping areas are closer to to the hotel. The breakfast was quite repetitive especially for those staying longer. Basic amenities such as laundry could be better and even a cold water machine would have been helpful.
GGuest UserThe staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. The continental breakfast was decent, but not great. The location is fantastic if you're in town for a ballgame. However, my room was at the very north end of the hotel near the highway and the road noises at night was pretty bad/loud due to the elevated roadway.
The reason for my terrible rating on cleanliness is that when I turned down my sheets, I had black flecks of something all in my sheets, as well as a long dark hair under the top sheet I could see. Additionally, I had some sort of dead bug on my side table. It looked like potentially a bed bug, so I didn't get much sleep the only night I was there.
I'd recommend this hotel to stay at with a few caveats of asking for a room on the south end of the hotel as well as checking your sheets as soon as you get into your room.
GGuest UserReally good location, just a few minutes walk from a very nice part of town. The hotel is very modern and comfortable with lovely amenities, including a pool and gym. Breakfast was generous although missing some bits, we were very happy. The room itself was very comfy and although the bedding wasn’t the nicest, it was very clean. I will say the area itself felt a little sketchy at night and we were concerned about the car, but all was fine. It was very different by day!
GGuest UserThe hotel is close to the center of Pittsburgh (south side of the Monongahela river). The city can be easily explored on foot from there, you can reach the downtown area in 30 minutes on foot. Only negative point is that you need to walk through rather shady area which might some people feeling unsafe with. The hotel itself is good, the room was spacious and the beds very comfortable, the bathroom though showed tiny spots of mold - nothing serious though. Breakfast was served downstairs in a nice environment. It had a big selection (eggs, bacon, sausages, sweets, bread, cream cheese, jam and yoghurts as well as oatmeal) and was very tasty - which we enjoyed.
The coffee machine inside the room was really crappy, I pressed the button for inserting the coffee and it fell almost apart. I notified the receptionist and he told me I could always get coffee and hot water from the breakfast area which was highly appreciated.
As I stayed there on a weekend I used a public parking lot - for free - in the direct vicinity and did not pay for the rather expensive hotel parking.
