Kind of a grungy hotel. The first room we went to had a muddy puddle on the bathroom floor. We requested someone to come up with a mop, but there was no one available so we had to gather up all of our things and move to another room. The second room was right next to the lobby, across from the pool and next to the elevator. Amazingly it was not too noisy except for around midnight when someone was laughing and carrying on loudly in the lobby. That was annoying. The bed was as hard as a rock. I tossed and turned all night. The room was clean. Come to find out you only get half as many points when staying at Home2 Suites as you do when you stay at Hampton Inn. Also the breakfast at Home2 Suites is not as good. The breakfast at this particular place was pretty bad. The bagels had a “produced on“ date of July 15. The date we were there was September 6. Those bagels were produced about two months prior. I asked the kitchen attendant about it and she said they had been kept in the freezer. They were hard and tasteless. The rest of the breakfast buffet was unappealing. We opted for cereal. The coffee was good. The night before I went to have a cup of hot tea and the hot water in the lobby was lukewarm. That was disappointing. I think I would try the regular Hampton Inn the next time I stay in Florence.
Ericka Moore has been awesome at getting me anything I need, and she greets me every time I walk past the desk. The ladies that make the breakfast in the morning are friendly and speak to every person that comes to eat in the morning. I love all of the staff here and will be back.

This hotel has been renovated and is located in downtown Florence. It looks like they are trying to revitalize the area. The rooms are very humid, but there are dehumidifiers in each room. The cleaning staff should check and empty the bins when they clean the rooms. The bin in our room was full when we checked into our room at 2:30 PM. It was full again by 7 AM the next morning! The breakfast buffet, although not elaborate, but was delicious. The scrambled eggs stayed hot and the creamy grits were the best I've ever eaten at a hotel breakfast. Service was a little slow, it seemed that only 1 server was working at the time we were there. They also did not start serving breakfast until 7:30 AM, a little later than most hotel.

I stayed at this hotel July 9-11, 2024. I have stayed here in the past which is why I chose this hotel, and I am sorry to say the hotel has gone downhill in the past year. First, I'll address breakfast. In the past there has been a very good assortment of breakfast foods and I have always enjoyed the oatmeal. This trip, the oatmeal was a watery mess and there weren't many other options. The sausage looked as though it had been cooked to death or warmed over numerous times. I did not taste it and I passed on the eggs. Both waffle machines were unplugged, and I can only presume, not operational. There were two choices of bagels and some bread when I went for breakfast. If there were other options, they weren't available either morning I was there. Second, cleanliness. I have never had a complaint about the cleanliness of this hotel, but this time I was extremely disappointed. The carpets were stained and the overall appearance was run down. The second morning I was there, the lobby floor and the floor to the elevators was covered in mud where it appeared someone had come in with dirty shoes. I attempted to eat breakfast again, with the same runny oatmeal, and less than appetizing meats and eggs, and I never saw a staff member even attempt to clean the floors. The lobby was so dirty, another hotel patron commented to me that she had stayed here numerous times and she would not be returning based on the cleanliness of the hotel. My room was located on the first floor and I would just describe it as OK. The carpet definitely needed cleaning and the bathroom grout needs to be replaced or seriously cleaned. The window lock was broken so I was unable to lock the window. Fortunately, the windows only open a few inches, but I would have preferred the option to be able to lock the window especially since I was a solo female traveler. As stated earlier, I have stayed in this hotel in the past, but I will definitely be looking for other accommodations should I need to spend the night in Florence anytime in the future.

EExplorer21937687550I spent one evening here on a driving trip. I easily made the reservation on the Hilton app when I decided when to stop for the evening. When I checked in, I was greeted by Stacy, who was friendly and professional. She provided me with a choice of treats for being a Hilton Diamond member. My room was quiet, comfortable and well maintained -- it lived up to the Hampton Inn standard. Breakfast was available early and was very good. My only complaints would be that the WiFi was in and out and there was little hot water for the shower. Otherwise, a good choice.
Stayed here for a night on a road trip. Not sure why people are so critical of a hotel that was extremely reasonable. Room was large, clean, loved the shower vs tub. Staff late at night was friendly. Breakfast in the morning was your typical… eggs, sausage, bacon, yogurt, cereals, waffles, toast, muffins, hash browns. When we were there the pool was closed for maintenance so if you desire for a swim call first. Location was perfect being right off 95 and there are many places to eat both fast food and eat in nearby. Would highly recommend if you are driving by and need a good nights rest.
HHalClarkeThis was our second time staying at this property. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our from was spotless and the bathroom was clean, modern, and up to date with no rust or mold and good useful lighting. The room had a refrigerator. Microwave, and coffee maker and also lots of outlets for recharging. WiFi was good and easy. Excellent breakfast. In fact, best hotel/motel sausage I've had. Kudos to super nice front desk staff Audrey and to very friendly breakfast staff Lacy. Lots of nearby restaurants for food of all kinds, several within a short safe walk. Nearby gas. Easy access to I-95. We'll be back.
GGuest UserIt was late when we rolled in, and we booked ahead via Priceline. I don’t see Howard Johnson’s around anymore, and since it’s owned by Wyndham I thought that it’s been rebranded and would be a good place to stay. What a disappointment! We had a ground floor room where we could park outside our door. Once inside we immediately noticed that the bathroom floor wasn’t as clean as expected, but we found cockroaches around the desk and coffee maker. It was too late to search out different accommodations so we took our luggage back out to the car, kept only what we needed for the night and made sure it was sealed up. I checked for bed bugs and didn’t find any so we slept (not soundly), got up early, showered, shook our clothes and got out of there. We did report this to the front desk, and told them that we left several cockroaches that we killed on a piece of paper on the desk in the room. They were apologetic but we didn’t stick around to haggle about it, we just left. With that experience, I would never stay at a Howard Johnson’s again.
GGuest UserThis was the second time we stayed here. The electric plugs on the desk did not work, the room was good. The bathroom had some issues. No shower curtain so had to go to the front desk to get one. They did offer to come and install but it was easy so I did it. The shower was dirty. The tile about two feet from the floor had mold and scum all over. The electric sock by the sink (used for hair dryer) was not attached to the wall (Safety hazzard). The room (1st floor) backed up to the kitchen. At 3:30AM the kitchen crew began and that was the last minute we slept. The crew was noisy, banging equipment, voices loud, etc.) that room should not be used except for storage. As we left the room to continue our trip home to Florida, the manager happened to be outside out door. I brought him into the room and he was not pleased. Next time I will ask for a room on the second floor not near the kitchen.
GGuest UserDid not have no problems when booking room got same room that o booked everyone was friendly no noise or disturbances loved everything about it. Did not eat breakfast but it smelled good when I went to the front desk every morning
GGuest UserThe lady at check in was so nice and helpful! The hotel itself is another story. Wyndham hotels has always been a great well known name in hotels. That is why I chose this hotel. I was 100% disappointed in the room and the hotel itself! Nasty!! From the elevator to our room!! Nasty! I will not do that mistake again! Look closely at all pics! I was sooo disappointed! We slept on top of the bed spread because of how nasty it looked! We were so tired or tire otherwise would have driven back home! The furniture was so ragged and dirty and the air conditioner was barely working and the cigarette butt holder was right in front of our door so that is where everyone came to smoke and of course when we open the door the smoke came right in the room! The hotel was dirty and the floors and the carpet in the elevator and I could go on and on but it was that bad! The hair dryer had lipstick that looked like had melted on it and the only clean thing was the shower and it was new. We also had to ask for a remote to the tv.
The people who worked up front were awesome and we totally appreciated that!!! Please take and invest in upgrading and cleaning this place up!!
🙂
GGuest UserIf you are looking for a low budget, yet decent stay, this is the place. Rooms are spacious, come with good bad, good air-condition, fridge, micro-wave, nice large TV. Bathroom is small and not very modern, but it is ok. Front desk was very cordial and Covid restrictions/recommendations are still present (gym is closed). Finally, hotel provides an excellent breakfast. For the price per room/night, I recommend this place.
