Stayed two nights here, generally visiting the Woodstock VT area and not wanting to pay Woodstock fall prices. The 5 stars is for what you expect from a hotel like this. Clean, updated comfortable and helpful employees. The servers at the breakfast were helpful and nice.
The hotel has a very good environment, complete sanitation facilities, and a small swimming pool. Driving around for about 10 minutes, there are two places to eat, but they are a bit late.
We were going to Dartmouth College, so the location was great as there is only a 8 minute drive there. There is a supermarket right next to the hotel, which is very convenient and there is a Starbucks within the hotel.
There is a great seafood restaurant Jesse only 2 minute drive away and Salem and Hanover offer many dining choices.
I used the gym and everything was perfect.

This hotel is just down the hill from Dartmouth Medical Center and across the road from the Dartmouth Coach so ideally located. The owners have made a good attempt at upgrading an older property and where they have fallen short it is still AOK by me. At literally half the rate of the Hilton Garden Inn I can overlook a lot when all I needed was an overnight due to outpatient surgery and being advised NOT to drive after the medical procedure. The new staff was excellent and quite helpful. My room was quite nice with my only issue being the variety of light bulbs being ”Warm” and ”Cool” colored. Attention to detail is lacking. WiFi in the rooms is there yet limited so I found myself doing a retro visit sitting in the lobby where the WiFi is excellent. I would hope that the owners will read this and invest in some boosters that will provide WiFi to all rooms.. even those at the end of the hallways. BTW, Dartmouth Heater Road medical building is about 50 yards from this Choice Hotel.
The hotel is conveniently located in the town of WEST LEBANON, surrounded by supermarkets, gas stations, restaurants, etc. The hotel is located on a small hillside and is relatively quiet.
The hotel is small and the equipment is relatively old, but the service is good.
The free breakfast is not ideal, but you can make it up and it's convenient and fast.
The last night because the bath water was not hot, the waiter suggested to help me change a room. I said no trouble, and then they apologized and gave me a key to another room, saying that you can go to SHOWER over there.
A century-old store, you can personally feel the centuries-old vicissitudes of the building. The price is the cheapest nearby. If you want to experience the country style, you can try it. If you are used to staying in domestic luxury hotels, it is not recommended to come here. I saw the bearded man at the front desk saying enthusiastically to every guest who checked in: Oh, a very good discount price.
The room itself was very nice. Shower and wifi fine. Beautiful lobby. Location--takes a little effort to find, but pretty convenient once you know where it is. That's the good news. Staff OK, but especially at the front desk there's a very unwelcoming vibe. Breakfasts very good, but needing a ”breakfast ticket” which had to be replaced every day has got to be one of the stupidest ideas in history. My room was literally 150 yards from the elevator, and I had to climb stairs to get to it. (I'm in my mid-60s, and I had a fair amount of heavy luggage.) You need a guide dog and a map to find the one ice machine. The advertised bar/restaurant (one of the reasons I chose this location) doesn't seem to exist. No maid service mid-stay. The hotel blames COVID (yeah, right,,,), and promises to replace towels and toiletries and to empty waste baskets if you leave them outside the door... a promise partially but not completely fulfilled. And of course no refills for the coffee-maker. The real problem seems to be that they don't pay their staff well at all, meaning they're understaffed. 2 1/2 stars/
It is a relatively old hotel. The attitude of the front desk clerk when checking in was not cold or hot, which made people feel a little uncomfortable. The breakfast is very simple; there is free coffee and hot water; the room facilities are relatively old and the cleanliness is average; the self-service washing machine provided by the hotel is very old, and it does not look clean, it seems that no one has ever cleaned it.
In short, it is a very average hotel that you can stay in when you need it. However, the price is not cheap in the autumn season to see the scenery.
Wonderful staff and clean, modern rooms. Very nice touches to make the stay enjoyable - Nespresso coffee maker, steamer for clothes, refrigerator in room, comfy towels, and bed. Complementary water, fruit, and Lorna Doone cookies are near each floor elevator as well as large afternoon cookies in the lobby area. Breakfast offerings include fruit, juice, coffee/tea, yogurt, and muffins to start your day. I will be staying here again!!
