The surrounding environment was quiet and nice. After all, the bed feels good. The service was fine. I would like to use this next time.

Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The same rooms could use some updating, but did not take away from the great stay with amazing service. Good food with great drinks at the restaurant. The work out facility was also vast & clean. Cant wait to return to such a lovely & convenient location.

We stayed at Rancho Valencia in July and we had a wonderful time! Don’t look any further this place is a DREAM. The property is absolutely stunning and pristine, the service was impeccable, they are beyond dog friendly, my fur friend was dialed in with all the amenities in our room and they have a special dog menu at their restaurant. (Sophie my franchise had a bed for her at dinner,so spoiled). We dined on property both nights and we thought the food was delicious and lots of options to choose from. We really enjoyed playing tennis at the club their facilities is really clean and super organized. The rooms are all very large suites we had a full living room, very large bathroom, shower & tub and a gorgeous courtyard. I can’t forget how incredible our experience was with their brand new state of the art spa & pool. This is by far the most luxurious property in North San Diego and they go the extra mile to make you feel special & spoiled. I can’t wait to go back! If you get a chance to stay at Rancho you will not be disappointed.

Really good hotel! Not in the city; it's out away from San Diego. It's about 1/2 hour to 45 min to drive to parts of San Diego. There is parking at the hotel, but they charge for parking???? The only way to get to this hotel (for most) is by driving a car and parking it there. They seem to be taking advantage of customers to charge for the parking. Hotel was clean and had breakfast. Safe location.

Best location for Del Mar Racetrack, free shuttle to the track. Staff friendly and efficient. Room was comfortable and very clean, extended bathroom a plus. Since Covid, must request room make up. Requested room to be made up each day, which was completed without a second request. About time to begin some room furniture replacement. Common areas clean and comfortable. Shout out to Vincent, waiter in the bar/lounge, very efficient and engaging, a credit to the property. Prior to Covid, hotel provided free shuttle service within a 5 mile radius, to restaurants, etc. would like to see the hotel re-establish this service.

I don’t usually like to share bad reviews but I’m hoping to help my fellow travelers by sharing my experience. The front desk staff is unmotivated and annoyed by guests asking questions or checking in. I know from my checkin experience and by waiting in the lobby for my room to be ready. The property is in a pretty convenient location with restaurants on both sides. The pool area is great with multiple BBQ grills. Perfect for a larger group. The room was pretty nice. There are 2 bathrooms in the 1 bedroom unit and that made things more convenient. The shower in the master is very narrow so I typically used the second bathroom in the living room to shower. Everything would have been great except for the ANTS. There were ants wandering throughout the unit in every single room. I saw ants in the bathrooms, on the living room carpet, bedroom, and tons in the kitchen. It made my stay miserable. I was constantly making sure that my daughter didn’t drop any food anywhere because that would mean a huge trail of ants. I’ve never experienced an issue with ants in my LIFE like I did at this property. Unless you want to be treated dismissively by the staff and have to deal with an ant infestation, I recommend you stay elsewhere. **** I stayed at 2 different units on this property (for 2 separate reservations) and ants were an issue in both units.

Tired…tired…tired… the hotel is really tired. It is a shame, because it has great character. A lot of your experience will depend on the room you are assigned. We were first given the “Lattice” room. 104. It is dark, feels closed in and the tub did not drain well. The bathroom smelled of sewer. The gentleman who checked us in on our arrival date was slow and cranky. The following day we asked to move to a different room. The staff that day (especially Andrew) was very nice and for an extra 30.00 they moved us to the Country French room. 106. What a difference! Although the bathroom still had a slight sewer smell, the room had better light and even a little bit of an ocean view. It is unfortunate that whoever owns the hotel is not maintaining it or keeping it up to date. The rates are reasonable for the location but, as they say, “you get what you pay for.” I read in other reviews that the hotel was being renovated, but I saw no signs of it. Old wallpaper, old carpet, old fixtures, old… just old. Upstairs deck is nice for sunset though. And having parking was a real benefit! If I need a cheaper place to stay near the ocean I would go back, but I would be very specific about which room I reserved. Lots of stairs to negotiate for the upper level rooms, just FYI.

For the price and location along with having decent amenities this hotel was a good deal and I had no complaints. Ample parking below the building, very close to the beach, nice coffee shops and yoga studio, and easy access from the main road . Beds were comfortable enough and the room was clean. It’s not a five star hotel , but for a business trip it for the bill just fine

From check in to check out everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel. The front desk, housekeeping even the bistro staff were all friendly and personable. They made us feel very welcomed and made us look forward to coming back.
