Had a wonderful experience here. I called in early before check in time a few times to see if any rooms were open and while there wasn’t any I was greeted kindly each time by the same receptionist. The entire hotel is super trendy, and each area has an intentionally and different but pleasant aroma. I would keep that in mind if you are sensitive to fragrances. The room was extremely clean, so much so we didn’t have any reservations letting our baby crawl around. The bed was supportive and comfortable and the pillows were a highlight for me; they conformed to whatever position you wanted them to and maintained that shape. The sofa bed was much more comfortable than any sofa bed I’ve been on (I always try them out at hotels). There is a privacy curtain that can be used to separate the room between the king bed and the sofa bed. The TV had a nice personalized greeting when I walked in. The kitchenette was fully stocked and even had a hidden toaster in the cabinets. There was a note saying you can rent a complimentary stovetop burner at the front counter if you plan on cooking. The complimentary breakfast was delicious! The frittatas had so much flavor and there was options for everyone. They even provided to-go containers to enjoy your breakfast wherever you choose. Every encounter with an employee here was a positive one especially the front counter ladies. The maintenance and cleaning people obviously took pride in their work as the entire hotel was spotless. This will definitely be our go to hotel in Salem.

Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, and we enjoyed our breakfast the next morning, too. On our road trip this was our favorite place we stayed because of the value and also the overall atmosphere of happiness in the friendly staff. This must be a well-managed property! We loved the location which is a little away from the freeway, so we were surrounded by local restaurants and stores and it was quiet at night, too.

Contemporary in design and personality, The Holman Riverfront Park Hotel unites craft, comfort and connection in the heart of downtown Salem. The Holman celebrates the growth and complexity that is modern Salem, with design and construction of the Holman building inspired by the pioneers, farmers, vintners, artists, business and government leaders that have brought modernity, comfort and affluence to Oregon. The Holman aims to provide a vibrant, connected, artful experience that represents that energy of city life, equally as much as the rich history behind the landmark location on which this hotel stands.
I am going to start off by saying, I tried to fix my problems with the motel staff, no one was available. I called the office after I got home, spoke with ”Bob” (I'm sure not his real name as he had to think about it when I asked his name). I had the worst stay in a motel, ever. Upon check in, there were only 2 of the 4 lights with light bulbs in them. When I tried to call the front desk, no one answered. The bathroom was filthy with ants all over the counter and walls, someone else's blood and toothpaste splatter on the walls. The mattress was like sleeping on a cement slab. In the morning I had to leave while still dark out, there was NO LIGHTS ON outside (I see a theme here-no lightbulbs in the room). I was trying to carry my cooler down the dark flight of stairs and missed the last two stairs and fell down. Bruised my arm and need, injured my left shoulder when I landed. I managed to go back upstairs and retrieve the rest of my belongings including my cell phone so I could use a flashlight on the next trip. After I got my belongings in my vehicle, I went to the office to report my fall and issues with my room (remember, no one would answer the phone the night before?), well no one would answer the knock on the door the next morning at 6:30 am. The sign hung outside the office said to not ring the bell, but to knock outside office hours. Another guest needed assistance and saw no one was answering my MULTIPLE LOUD KNOCKS, so she rang the bell. Still no one came. I got her name and phone number after I told her I fell down the stairs. She had a similar experience. I was promised a call back from the manager when I spoke to ”Bob”. I'm still waiting for that call that was supposed to come on Thursday, November 18th. It's now November 22nd. I will be contacting my attorney for a potential law suit. All I wanted was my room comped. Now it will cost them more as they will be paying attorney fees and for my pain after falling down the dark stairs. I HAVE PICTURES.
We had a decent stay. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean although somewhat worn down but overall not bad. Free breakfast is ok, waffles, fruit, milk, juice, coffee, bagels and cream cheese not great but fills you up. The real issue is the location is a little sketchy as it’s right behind a mechanics shop and parking lot seems a little sim. Also the morning of our departure some bum walked through the parking lot and purposely lit the bushes on fire. I rushed in and got the fire extinguisher and put it out before it could spread to far. Day staff was very blasé about it. Would have given another half star but…
Unbelievable. There's know way you can get a better room for the rate there asking. Very friendly staff and was super impressed with everything. Will be my go to Hotel going forward. Thank you for a great experience.

TTHfloridaThe room itself was very clean, the only bad thing was that the room smelled of wet dog, so was unpleasant. Believe was room 211
RRUOHONGIt was a good stay. The room is large, the bed is comfortable and the toilet is clean. The temperature is right. Breakfast is better than other BWs, and it is plugged in Denys, except that people are too slow to serve. Parking is convenient, the door is Costco, we bought a bunch of things to come back to eat, just use the microwave in the room to heat it. The coffee is good, it's Best Seattle's, four packs, enough to drink. It is that Salem really has nothing to look at. We are visiting the Clackmas River and going to the seaside of Lincoln City as the middle station. The pool is open until eleven o'clock. The service staff is very good 👍!
GGuest UserGood Points: I was really impressed with the quality of the room for the price on this location. I ended up having to book this room for a large group last minute due to my VRBO cancelling on me. Not only was the price much better, but this hotel has a nice indoor pool and hot tub. Both were SUPER clean! I am a bit of a clean freak so that was great. The hot tub is large and roomy so even with other people in it I didn't feel crowded. The hotel itself is nice and more modern and everything was clean. The room was spacious, clean, nicely decorated, and the beds very comfortable with good pillows and the air conditioner worked great. I was also able to get an early check in, which was great. The breakfast was good with the waffles that my kids loved and hot eggs and sausage which I enjoyed because I have to eat gluten free. This hotel is right next to an on/off ramp in Salem so very easy to access which I loved! But it was the front desk staff that really shine! The lady who booked me (I called the hotel direct and did not use an online booking site) was so sweet and friendly and I met her again when we checked in. She was really great and remembered me and asked about my kids who had just graduated. We were there for a trip as a present for graduating high school. I was super impressed with her! The other staff who were front desk were also really friendly and helpful. I am planning on staying here again in the future! The Not so Good: For some reason my room window didn't have full curtains so at night with the lights on anyone could see in, which for me was weird and uncomfortable. I think I watched too many Scream movies as a teenager! Second the tv remote in the room didn't work. It turned the tv on but wouldn't switch the channels. Not a big deal, I could have called front desk and gotten a working one in seconds I'm sure, but I was too tired and just streamed on my laptop as I don't really like tv anyways. FYI: I've worked both Front Desk and Housekeeping in the past and am always impressed with great service, especially in this economy! I know how hard both jobs are! Tip your housekeeper's people! They clean up the most horrific nasty stuff for you every day!

We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the new remodel is since our last visit . The room was very clean and beds were so comfortable. The property itself has made a huge improvement. The FD staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We will most definitely be returning.

I was very nervous about booking in the Salem area after reading countless negative reviews. I am glad we booked here. There are some homeless on the outskirts of the wall but nothing disturbing on the property itself while we were there. Honestly they have some strict rules in place here that you have to sign off on so I think people are on their best behavior ... including those 28 day residents ... so they don't lose their room. Overall it is not the top of the line hotel but was quiet and served us well. The full size fridge was a nice bonus as well as space to prep things (counter with sink) and table to dine at. Parking in front of the door made load in and out easy too. Would stay again if in the area.
