Highly recommend!! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel's staff - manager Juan Camacho, director of sales Kenny Kelly, and front desk attendant Deanne were fantastic and helped me get the best rate possible since this was a hospital related stay - family car accident while evacuating from Hurricane Laura. And if you happen to meet Abigail in housekeeping she is an absolute gem! She asked about my family every time I saw her. When I checked out I booked my next stay and am returning soon. Overall, the location is near everything I needed, easy access to the interstate, and the full kitchen and laundry room really helped make this stay a little easier.
Older facility. Rooms newly updated in last 2 years. Think under new management because we have stayed here for many years and last 2 it has been cleaner and more welcoming. Easy off and on freeway. Clean. Restaurants nearby, both chain and local. Quiet despite being next to interstate highway. Appears a lot work crews stay there, but not an issue. Breakfast is ok with some hot and cold items - nothing to get excited about, but sufficient to get the day started.
This was the worst experience that I had stayed in a hotel. It was disgusting and a waste of money and the worst experience that I had stayed in a hotel. It was hot (the a/c didn’t work well), dirty floors, trash under beds, dirty bathroom, before getting to the room there was sharp things sticking out of the ground. The only thing nice of the place was the receptionist desk. They will not give a discount or refund because they don’t care that the room was not cleaned before putting me In the room. The receptionist will tell you one price when you call and when you show up tell you another one!!! I wouldn’t even give one star but I have to so I can post this review. Do not stay here!! If the owners of this hotel read this please message or call me before the customer care for your hotel are the worst!!! We enjoyed our hotel stay. My mom was in a horrible car accident so I needed a hotel last minute. Thankfully we were able to find a hotel so close to the hospital. The price of the hotel was a little more than i had hoped but wasn’t bad. The rooms were nice and no complaints on the room. They offered food and drinks you could purchase, a little pricey but was nice that it was there. Breakfast was horrible and had to get breakfast else where. Not many options and what was there wasn’t very good. The morning front desk clerk was very friendly and welcoming, one of the night clerks was very rude when I asked for an extra toilet paper roll. Like it was coming out of her own paycheck. The hotel is right next to Texas Road House which was a huge bonus. They have a pool and gym but we never used them. We tried to use the gym but it was closed.

Very Good
This was our second stay at this location. We first stayed in 2016 on the way to Galveston and we stayed this time doing the same trip. This hotel still holds up years later. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Lots of restaurants very close to the property so that's a definite bonus. Parking seemed safe. Most of the lot seems well lit. My only complaints: the rooms were a bit hot when we got there, and the pool was too cold. I know that seems small. It was very hot that day, and I know many hotels will have staff turn up room temp after cleaning to save money and energy, but it was warm in there. We turned down the temperature while we went to eat, and it was fine by the time we got back. Our girls got in the pool but didn't stay in for very long. They said the water was cold and if I remember from the previous trip the lights were on and it was bright. This time it wasn't. So, if those things are a deal breaker you might keep that in mind. Breakfast was standard free hotel breakfast fare, but it was hot and plenty of variety. My rating is based on cleanliness, customer service, and breakfast. But the pool situation, at least for us with kids, wasn't the best.

GGuest UserThe property is older but incredibly clean - to the point that when we checked in our room, my husband and I could smell the cleanliness! But it was the staff who were incredible, specifically Tina and the night manager. First, Tina met us at the front desk and allowed us to check in a little early so we could get ready for our son’s wedding rehearsal. We returned that night and didn’t have any wash clothes, but the night manager washed and dried some and delivered them to our room. The next day, Tina was nice enough to accommodate our need for a late check out to get ready for the actual wedding. The hospitality of the staff was incredible and will prompt our return! Again, not the most palatial accommodations, but a pleasant, friendly place to lay our heads!
The hotel was exactly what I required. The room was clean with all necessary amenities. The location gave me easy access to Bell Expo Center. Check in / Checkout couldn't have been easier. The breakfast was simple but more than adequate. The breakfast area was kept neat and clean.
We were a little disappointed that the Travel lodge didn't offer a AAA or AARP. Discount. The vending and ice machines were broken. A complimentary canned drink or bottle of water would've been a nice gesture considering that the price included breakfast which wasn't available due to covid. And we were surprised that the desk clerk wasn't masked. Would make another choice of accommodations next time.
