Nestled along the serene shores of Waikoloa, the Hilton Waikoloa Village is a haven of luxury and tranquility. Our recent stay at this breathtaking resort was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the impeccable service, stunning accommodations, and picturesque surroundings.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that instantly made us feel at home. The check-in process was smooth, and to our delight, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a Royal Suite in the palace tower. Stepping into our suite, we were greeted by spacious elegance and panoramic views of the beach and lagoon. Every detail, from the plush furnishings to the tasteful decor, exuded luxury and comfort.
The grounds of the Hilton Waikoloa Village are a true testament to paradise. Meticulously maintained gardens, winding pathways, and cascading waterfalls create an oasis of serenity amidst the lush landscape. We spent hours exploring the resort, discovering hidden gems around every corner. Whether lounging by the pool, strolling along the sandy shores, or indulging in a rejuvenating spa treatment, every moment was a blissful escape from reality.
One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the friendly greetings to the attentive care, every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Whether offering recommendations for dining or arranging memorable excursions, their genuine hospitality made our experience truly unforgettable.
As seasoned travelers who have explored destinations around the globe, we can confidently say that our time at the Hilton Waikoloa Village surpassed all expectations. It was more than just a vacation – it was a transformative experience that left us longing to return. If you're searching for paradise on earth, look no further than this remarkable resort.
The service is poor, the guests who are not very good at the language are not patient enough. The front desk does not look at the order carefully. If I have already paid the full amount of the room, I will re-collect it once! Bad review!

Top drawer experience at Mahana House Country Inn. Stayed at one of 3 cottages and found it impeccably finished and provided with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The view from the large lanai was amazing and was especially delightful at sunrise. The cottages feature an open plan with the bed and kitchen enjoying views out to the lanai and the ocean in the distance. The large Sleep Number bed with firmness individually adjustable for each side was so good we're now considering one for our home. The proprietor provided clear instructions on check in/out, usage and recommendations for shopping and dining. The location is great for a relaxing get-away, but shopping and dining are about 25 minutes away by car in Hilo. The expansive grounds include a large lawn and fruit orchard and a band of friendly cats who may stop by to say hello and troll for pets. No worries if you're not a cat person, they won't impose themselves. Laundry facilities, large communal living space and kitchen in the main building a short walk from the cottages.
Good sized 2BR with nice appointments and kitchen supply. The Front Desk, Housekeeping and Maintenance provide excellent service and are responsive. We have used the HGV shuttle to go all over the Waikoloa Resort and have really enjoyed visiting Hawi, Waimea, Kailua Kona from this location. It is close to several beautiful beaches and the location has really worked out for us. We stayed in building 19 and would definitely stay here again.
With a stay at Luxury Beach Front Villa - Kolea in Waikoloa, you'll be next to a golf course, within a 15-minute drive of Mauna Lani Resort Golf Course and Anaehoomalu Beach. This golf villa is 10.3 mi (16.5 km) from Mauna Kea Beach and 9 mi (14.5 km) from Hāpuna Beach State Recreation Area.
Relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy massages. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, which include 8 outdoor swimming pools and a fitness center. This villa also features a picnic area and barbecue grills.
Free self parking is available onsite.
Make yourself at home in one of the 4 air-conditioned rooms featuring kitchens with full-sized refrigerators/freezers and ovens. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Conveniences include microwaves and coffee/tea makers, as well as phones with free long-distance calls.
The room was smaller than expected. The front desk said that the area shown online was plus the area of the balcony. The children's club can only be hosted if you are 5 years old or above. The activity room is not as big as the Four Seasons. There are many stones on the beach, which is not delicate and cannot be stepped on. However, the view from the hotel is still very beautiful and feels richer than the scenery in the Four Seasons. Kalei from Concierge was very considerate and helped us contact the car rental agency and drove the car directly to the hotel. Generally speaking
We chose Hawaii to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and booked a flight starting in May and the Hilton where we always wanted to stay. However, my husband couldn't go due to work, so I tried to cancel, but the accommodation was cheap and there was no refund. I felt it was a waste to lose 2.5 million won, so I ended up spending another 8 million won to come to Hawaii. Since my daughter and I came together, not being able to rent a car became a problem later. Hilton is like a new town, with condos, a hotel, a golf club resort, a swimming pool, a restaurant, and a shopping center within a large fortress called Waikolona Village, and you can get around by free shuttle bus. The reason our accommodation was cheap was because it was a resort located inside a golf club and was about a 30-minute walk away from downtown areas such as the main hotel and Queen's Market. Our accommodation was in building 24 of them, so we had to ride the golf course cart from the club house for about 5 minutes. I paid a $5 tip for driving the cart and carrying the suitcase to the room. (Pay a deposit of about 350,000 won when checking in, and if there are no problems a few days after check-out, cancel the card and repay a resort fee of about 150,000 won.) You can only eat pizza, hamburgers, and alcohol at the clubhouse, so go to the main place, Queen's Market, to buy groceries. I had to see it. All products include VAT, so I included the VAT and unconditionally added a tip of 18, so the price was murderous. From hotel reviews, I finally realized why I buy groceries at the supermarket. Even if you want to pay money to eat, there is no particular restaurant or type of food you can buy. Anyway, I ate pizza, hamburger, beer and cocktail at the club and it cost 90,000 won. The club resort where we stayed was spacious, comfortable, clean, and good for two people to stay. There was ice in the refrigerator, two bags of Kona coffee, and Coffee Mate dishware, plenty of towels, and food supplies. Netflix is available, but considering my subscription ID, I don't know if it's free with a hotel ID. The manta ray company picked us up at the clubhouse and completed the trip safely, but the incident in question occurred because the stargazing tour ended late the next day and we missed the shuttle bus. I was dropped off in front of Starbucks in Queens Market at 10:30, but everything was closed and the rain started to fall, and the big neighborhood was filled with tears. . .After missing the Uber taxi for the fifth time, my daughter said we should walk for about 20 minutes, and it reminded me of the young man who went missing in Japan. I thought, “Okay, let’s walk quickly.” After walking for about 5 minutes, my daughter, who was usually good at finding directions, seemed confused and couldn’t figure out the direction on the trail that seemed *******. I went out to the main street again, caught an Uber taxi after much trouble, and returned to my lodgings. The young, friendly white Uber taxi driver even worried that it might be dangerous, so I was grateful and gave him a 25% tip. Anyway, Hawaii seems to be overcoming adversity well from the start. I was very disappointed that I couldn't go to the famous swimming pool with dolphins and use the village and only slept because I was on an all-day activity tour for 4 days. Still, I had to pay a resort fee of about 150,000 won. For reference, it is free to travel from Kona Airport to the accommodation, but on the day of going back to Kona Airport, it is a paid bus and must be reserved in advance. I couldn't make a reservation, so I took Uber. On the first day, the driver couldn't communicate on the way from Kona Airport to the accommodation, so he drove us around. In Hawaii, there are quite a few employees of color who are not fluent in English, so be sure to communicate properly. The road is wide, not crowded, and travels at low speeds, so women should always rent a car.
A review of the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort: My family and I recently completed a vacation stay at the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort. Overall, the resort is wonderful with a few rough edges. The resort is located on the west side of the Big Island, about 30 miles north of the airport -- with ”island traffic” plan on 30-45 minutes if you need to travel down into Kona. This resort takes full advantage of its beach location, which is consistently rated one of world's best. Hapuna Beach is an amazing long crescent-shaped beach great for swimming and snorkeling (near the coral at the edges of the beach. We saw turtles, octopus, and a wide variety of fish). The beach is perfect for families with children, though the water can get a little rough if the trade winds are blowing. Check-in was smooth and efficient. My elite membership was recognized as well as my birthday during our visit. We were offered points of elite breakfast credit, which included continental breakfast for two in Ikena Landing. Upon arriving to our room, we were greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and assorted goodies for our celebration. Our room was clean and well-appointed. We were staying on a points redemption, so no SNA option. We had a ”partial” ocean view room but I suspect we were given an ocean view room because we had a wonderful view of the ocean and resort grounds. According to front desk personnel, the resort did have a handful of ”lanai” rooms near the ground level with no view whatsoever, including a small number of no-view suites. We had a spacious bathroom with shower and tub; also a wonderful lanai with a table & chairs along with a comfortable outdoor couch perfect for lounging in the evening with a beverage while watching the sunset. All service requests through the chat function were promptly met and taken care of throughout our visit. Note, this resort also had a free guest laundry facility with detergent and other supplies -- perfect if you pack light or just want to clean off your swimsuits before you head home. Our main gripe relates to the food & beverage offerings and service. The resort's dinner restaurant, Meridia, takes full advantage of the resort views and location. Unfortunately, that's about all it has going for it. For the price point, the food was marginal and service was lacking. For a similar price point, I'd suggest heading up-country to Merriman's for terrific farm-to-table food and great service. As I mentioned, we received elite continental breakfast for two at Ikena Landing, each morning. Upgrade to the full buffet was offered for an additional $25 per person. Prices were steep for breakfast. Servers were friendly but took a while to get food out at times. I would recommend, particularly families working within a budget, to try Piko Coffee Bar. Piko has much better coffee options throughout the day and also offers a variety of hot/cold grab-and-go options (at breakfast, eggs, hash browns and breakfast meats, pas

Outstanding
GGuest UserWe would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. It is minutes away from the Volcano National Park and not far from other attractions like Hilo or Papakolea Green Sand Beach. My husband and I stayed in the Ohia Ranch room. The location was quiet and private with lots of animals (goats, sheep, donkey, ducks, hens, etc.). It was fun to sit out on the balcony and watch the animals (or go down and pet them). The king bed was very comfortable and had a heated blanket on it as an option. There are lots of windows for great sunshine. Every morning, Theresa would bring a delicious breakfast to the room per your request/order. There is a table/chairs in the room to eat; plus the balcony has a small table. The breakfast omelets were incredible. Theresa also has many extras in the room like beach towels, robes, slippers, picnic basket, heating rack for towels and drinks. The information book had lots of ideas of where to go along with restaurant suggestions. We found all of them incredible. She also sent detailed instructions to get there. Overall, Theresa was a warm and wonderful host who helped us with any questions and offered great suggestions.
FFloridasailor_11This 102 yr old home, now B&B, was the perfect experience. From meeting us at the car and carrying our bags in, to all the amenities, to the great menu choices for breakfast, the friendly tips on places to go, where to eat diner, it was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful wood paneled luxury. Tastefully decorated and furnished. Within 10 minute walk to downtown. Quiet. Plenty of parking. Literally perched over the ocean. No A/C wasn’t a problem…the ever present ocean breeze was all that was needed . The sound of waves gently breaking below our room led to blissful sleep. Highly recommend. Grab the largest room if available…includes a cozy nook for relaxing.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Gingerhill! 5 out of 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, would do again. We stayed in the Jungle Canopy, which is a perfect oasis for two. We like to travel more DIY-style (and honestly, on a budget) and this fit the bill perfectly. It’s pretty much as described - a glamping tent canopy with a small kitchenette, running water, toilet, and outdoor hot shower. If you are looking for 5-star accommodations and lux service, then this is not the place for you, but if you want a nice retreat from the tourist bustle and like to travel more on the independent side, you can’t go wrong here. After a long day exploring, it felt so good to come back to our little jungle retreat and rest and recuperate. The bed is amazingly comfortable. Once we got used to the noisy nightlife, we slept very well. The kitchenette has a small refrigerator, hotplate, sink, and - very important - coffee grinder, coffee provided! and french press. The basics in terms of dishes, utensils, etc are also provided. A major bonus were the farm kitties who came by to say hello multiple times. All our interactions with the owners and staff were lovely - they were very quick to respond to any of our requests for assistance or amenities. Some tips for anyone booking here and important to note - this is only for the Jungle Canopy - all of the accommodations are slightly differently equipped: 1 - bring headlamps and extra lighting - maybe a solar lamp or two. These were absolutely essential. While there is modest lighting, it wasn’t quite adequate especially after dark. You really are surrounded by jungle vegetation and natural lighting is limited. 2 - bring ear plugs. The frogs and jungle life at night are pretty deafening at first. We needed ear plugs the first couple of nights and then, amazingly, we adapted and were able to sleep without them. Tips that go beyond the Jungle Canopy: 3 - There is a very good grocery store less than 5 minutes from Gingerhill - the KTA. We got everything we needed there, service was friendly and we were pleasantly surprised to find that prices were not as expensive relative to the mainland as we expected. 4 - Our favorite snorkeling spot, or at least, in our top 3, was one of the closest to Gingerhill. There is an informal parking area for the Captain Cook Monument hiking trail about 5 minutes away. The hike is a bit long and steep compared to other places with closer ocean access, but the snorkeling there was on par with everything else we explored. It had perhaps the most abundant fish we saw. 5 - If you’ve done your homework, you know that a lot of sunscreen is not good for coral reefs. While you can buy “reef-safe” sunscreen, the best option is none at all. Consider using long-sleeve rash guards or dive skins instead - it offers superior sun protection with no concerns about harmful chemicals in the water.
Hilo to me is an agreeably funky place and this accommodation is perfectly in line with that impression. It is set a bit away from the city's downtown, such as it is, in a residential area. The property itself must have once been a residence itself, and is divided into two parts, the original lodge and an annex across the street. We stayed our one night in the annex in a double room, which was equipped with its own bathroom, a microwave and lots of storage space, but no television--for that you had to access a common area, which also had a small kitchen. Definitely the place must have once been a house. The front desk is not open all hours and you have to time your arrival to accommodate this, but the staff member we met was extremely friendly and helpful. Arnott's also runs tours to various parts of the island that leave from the premises, one of which (up Mauna Kea to the observatories) we'd accessed several years prior. All in all Arnott's would probably not be your cup of tea if your idea of a Big Island vacation is the glamorous resorts on the Kona side, but for us the laid-back, peaceful atmosphere was perfect.
