You might think the animals would be the biggest draw at Selva Teenek, and indeed they were an enormous highlight of our 12 days in this part of Mexico (more on animals in a minute). But what really amazed us was the personal attention we got from Eduardo, Martha and their crew. From an initial welcome with ice water (or mescal!), to an on -demand daytime tour of the animals, to delicious meals served in the airy, thatched-roof veranda, to the nighttime tour: every interaction with ST staff was gracious and informative. And the animals, especially at night! Being only feet away from a jaguar crunching her dinner bones, staring us down...that is a once in a lifetime experience. Our cabin was also lovely and cozy. I can't say enough about this place; don't miss it.

Sin duda alguna algo fuera de lo común pero con una gran calidad en sus servicios, desde las cabañas muy bien equipadas hasta el servicio de alimentos en el restaurante, esta UMA tiene un gran compromiso con la fauna silvestre tanto con los turistas que visitan sus instalaciones, si no conoces selva teenek te recomiendo lo hagas, a mi me encantó.

Martha en Eduardo zijn super gastvrij. De lodge was mooi, groot en schoon. We hebben lekker avond gegeten en ontbeten. Zowel de avond als dagtour waren leuk en interessant. Het is duidelijk merkbaar dat ze veel geven om de dieren en het behouden van de natuur. Absolute aanrader!

Las cabañas están súper bonitas situadas enmedio de la naturaleza! El servicio de Eduardo y Martha fue excepcional nos apapacharon en cada momento a todos! El sabor de los alimentos es muy bueno! Pero lo mejor es el amor por los animales y el medio ambiente! Te recuerdan lo importante que es cuidarlo! Además su ubicación es perfecta! Estás a 4 min de la cascada de micos y de otros paraísos de la huasteca potosina!

The place was amazing! The cabins were clean, very well appointed. Nicest bathroom we have had in Mexico. The grounds were so nice. The food was so good! The hosts paid extra attention to every detail. The animals were amazing to see, very well cared for. The hosts take the eco-side very seriously. We combined it with 3 day tours through Huasteca Tours. Thank you! We will highly recommend. Deb & Dan

10/10 would recommend staying here when visiting San Luis Potosí. Martha & Eduardo were so kind and informative. Our room was clean and quiet. The breakfast and dinner that was included was delicious. We loved the night and day tour of all the animals rescued. Thank you for making our stay memorable!

I cannot stress enough how FANTASTIC this place is. The concept behind the place and the fact that they are saving animals in need is a great thing. The animals are really well looked after and we were given numerous tours to see the animals which we loved. The hosts that looked after us (Martha & Eduardo )were exceptional and we both looked forward to our meal times and seeing them as every exchange was so nice. Genuinely two of the nicest people you could meet. We told Martha we were trying to learn Spanish and as a result she would be so patient with us and talk in as much Spanish as possible which we both really appreciated and loved. They were both so generous with their time and a day after leaving we both really miss them and this magical place. The accommodation is set really deep within the jungle which feels special. They have loads of blankets and 2 good heaters so it’s easy to stay warm and we were there in the coldest week of the year. There were two cooks (Jess and Sissy) and the food was wonderful. Really flavoursome and nice big portions to fill you up for the activities we had booked for the day. This place will forever be in my memory as one of my happiest times.
