We received a very warm and friendly welcome from AuntyLady who settled us into our room. The room felt very homely with wall heaters, extra blankets, armchairs and complementary tea and coffee. A communal kitchen, dining room and garden area are available to guests which is particularly pleasant if you are feeling sociable. While we found the accomodation very good value, clean and comfortable the interesting artworks and working studio was what really made it unique for us. Definitely a place to revisit! Next time we hope to be able to explore the area as well.

My stay at John Bauer Pottery Studio in Claremont, Cape Town was comfortable, enjoyable and memorable. I got real good value for the price I paid. Gail, the host, was very welcoming. She was so open and hospitable that she ended up assistance in my search for student accommodation for my daughter. I will certainly book this apartment again in future. I highly recommend it!

Cozy accommodation basically for the weekend we spent in Cape town 3-Feb to 5-Feb. Very friendly and accommodating manager provided secure parking overnight. Room was reasonably comfortable and clean. Bathroom and toilet good although shower drainage could be better. This accommodation lacked provision of breakfast however several coffee shops were accessible in adjacent streets. The Pottery studio was a fascinating experience to enjoy pottery and artwork which I thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, highly recommended accommodation at a very reasonable price.

My friend and I stayed at the John Bauer Pottery Studio and B&B when we came down to Cape Town. The B&B was decorated brilliantly with art an pottery everywhere you looked. The shared areas were always clean and neatly kept and Gail was extremely welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the pottery studio for two nights. The room was comfortable and clean. While I did have a private bathroom it wasn't en-suite, which was a bit awkward in a shared house, but the bathroom was clean and spacious. The staff were very very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this place for those just looking for somewhere to sleep but not for those wishing to spend time at the residence.
