Solid choice of a place to stay near Clarencetown. We did the fly free from Nassau promotion (we stayed 4 nights, 1 RT ticket from Nassau to Long Island was free) which made Gems a very affordable option. Third floor one bedroom unit had a nice little kitchen, bath, living area, balcony with a table and a very comfortable bed in a separate bedroom in the back. We did the meal plan the first night and first breakfast since we arrived on a Sunday, but I did not feel it was a good value or that the food was particularly good. The woman who cooked was sweet and kind, but there are restaurants nearby that offer higher quality food and experience at better prices, with a full bar. There is a small yet lovely beach at Gems, I just wish there were some lounge chairs on it - we would have relaxed, read, and hung out there. Kayak was fun. Hanse is an excellent host, even lent us his cooler for our entire trip which we appreciated immensely. He runs a nice place and we enjoyed our stay here. It's convenient to town, the blue hole, and some other beaches.
