Clermont-Ferrand Spa Hotels

Stayed at the Oceania on a weekend trip to watch rugby. The hotel beat all expectations, polite and helpful staff, easy check in, clean and well laid out rooms, British TV channels and close to the centre and trams. Only down side was that the bar was closed on the weekend, and when you have a fair number of rugby fans they missed a trick. I would recommend this hotel if you go to Clermont.

We tried the new restaurant ”bouillon Ravel”, the magnificent setting, very bohemian, suggests a light, warm and authentic atmosphere. We were offered a drink at the counter while waiting for our table. With the double door open to the hotel, we suppose an invitation, a welcome, we take a few steps to look at the setting of the hotel, the door being open. And the reality is quite different, one of the bosses freezes us and calls out to us like potential thieves: ”what are you doing? Are you going upstairs? Are you looking for a room?”. The charm immediately fades, giving way to a series of disappointments, both in attitude and on the plate. Meat impossible to cut, because there was no suitable knife, a non-existent exchange with the suspicious boss, he had decided that I was a thief who should be ignored. When it was time to pay, however, we were offered a tango! Surreal... we refuse, it doesn't matter, we offer it to someone else, leaving us at the counter waiting for the bill...
