Trail Shop Inn

It took one hour for us to get a salad and an appetizer and we were the only ones inside the restaurant when we ordered. A table of six outside ordered at the same time and their orders were being prepared first according to the waiter. On top of that, the chef could be heard yelling in the kitchen and giving our waiter a difficult time when he inquired about our food. Voices carry, Mr. Chef - shame on you!

We picked this location for the proximity to the National park. The Trail Shop Inn is a rustic log cabin setting with beautiful views. It shows some age but that is part of the charm. The cabin was comfortable and warm.

No signal or Wi-Fi in cabins

This is a great place to get away and just be with your thoughts and self. They only serve dinner. The closet breakfast is a drive away. There was mouse poop on our bedding when we got there, but what do u expect when this place is located in the middle of nowhere. This place is located Wapiti, not Cody. The staff was nice. Our toilet did not work in our original room, so they gave us a second room that was ajoining. So we ended up withb2 rooms, 1 working toilet, 5 beds. Overall it was a great nights sleep.

For greater than $200 a night you get to experience a small cabin that likely doesn't pass local building codes. The lights are dim and flicker like you're in a horror movie, the mattresses and pillows are of the cheapest quality. There is zero lighting outside apart from the sign leading you in, but that wasn't always on, this is bear country after all. The toilet is so close to the wall you can't sit on it straight and good luck trying to figure out the shower; The valve must be the design of someone's drunk uncle, just when you got the water warm enough, the shower is about to overflow because it doesn't drain fast enough, because the tile lip on the floor is very shallow, then you have to turn the water down and surprise, you either have scalding hot or ice cold. There is no indication of hot or cold. I had a dead bug under my pillow like a gift from the tooth fairy. The restaurant when open was great and the management was very professional, kind and helpful. I give this place a failing grade of 2 out of 5, it would be a 1 but the staff earned themselves an extra star. Maybe I just got the bad cabin. New shower valves, cheap solar yard lights and turning the water temp down on the water heater would go a long way here.

This was a very unique property! You will never find such a place with an incredible view!! Very close to Yellowstone but very quiet and peaceful

Definitely not what any of the reviews stated this property was like. Cabin had no ac, restaurant closed which states on ******* and their website it’s open. We waited to eat to support local only to find out it was closed. Room was clean. But property needs cleaned up and mowed. Couldn’t sit At picnic table outside cabin due to grass over grown. Paid $220.00 for a at most a $75.00 a night stay. Very disappointed with the lack of quality and the description posted when wasn’t even close. We love to support local and small businesses very disheartened. Wish them luck in getting things straightened out.

Great location and place. Only negative was the wifi didn't work.
