One of the few hotels with a great location, just near the station. The toilets and rooms are very clean. The only drawback is that there will be singing in the bar downstairs on Fridays, which will be noisy until 11 o'clock. There is also no air conditioning in the room, but this is not necessary given the temperature in Australia.

Outstanding friendly and helpful service, modern and fresh in a look in a historical context, brilliant, nostalgic. Good food in the bistro, great location close to the train station, easy to find for travellers who want to get away from the night time B-doubles using the highway. As close as you can get to the jetty, close to the marina and Mutton Bird Island, Coffs Creek, Park beach, Gallows beach in easy walking reach. Well worth staying more than one night if your schedule allows.
The shared bathroom is a touch of authenticity and should not discourage staying there, it’s a corner pub. I will return for more than one night.

We loved the family/community feel in the restaurant/entertainment area. The proximity to the train station, pier, beaches etc made it very easy to get around

Central location, clean and friendly place, but... If you like quiet and dark room to sleep in, beware! The rooms are above the pub, so live music was on until midnight when we stayed there on Sat night. Also, the pretty lights you see on the facade are on all night long and there are not blockout curtains or blinds to darken to room. (There are slatted blinds on the windows.) Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, but the shared (for the whole floor) bathroom, the noise and the light filtering in make this one 3/5.
