Very budget friendly hotel. With what we paid, we didn't expect much. Definitely older and in need of upgrades but it looks like they're working on it. Beds were decent, rooms were clean, they added some upgraded shower units and sink. No breakfast or coffee available but for the price it worked. All in all for a night stay it worked great.

This hotel is awful. The room and all over hotel is filthy. The hallway to the room had an awful smell, the bed was filthy, the bathroom fixtures were broken but at least there was hot water. The ice bucket was moldy, the bathroom was moldy and filthy including dirt and hair in the shower. The handle to the door didn't work almost trapping a family member in the bathroom. The key cards were blank and questionable and the outside door didn't even shut questioning the safety of the hotel. The "manager" was anything but friendly and there was hardly anyone at the front desk if needed. A pool and hot breakfast were advertised but when arriving we found out the pool was empty and there was no breakfast AT ALL, not even a hot cup of coffee. They claimed this is due to Covid but the letter stating why it was closed was obviously from 3 years ago with the date crossed out. The hotel was partially under construction if they are even working on it, which gave it a unclean and unsafe feeling. The air conditioner leaked and the floor had questionable stains and stickiness. I do NOT recommend this hotel to ANYONE.

Terrible Hotel, on a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a -2. It should be closed or condemned. Hotel is filthy, Advertised but NO POOL, NO BREAKFAST staff are less than helpful and there are NO amenities. Total RIPOFF!!!

Scam artists using covid precautions as an excuse for no breakfast & empty pool *3 years later* yet they STILL ADVERTISE them to unsuspecting online customers here, on Choice Hotels' site, their Google listing, & all 3rd party sites! Those are simple edits to make. Look at these photos, how do you prey on people with such a low "quality" establishment? You lure people with discount non-refundable rate through 3rd parties & don't provide the SPECIFIC TWO things I searched for & why I chose to book here. That's completely dishonest &shameful. Hope you enjoyed my $100 for doing absolutely nothing while we went elsewhere to stay where my kids & I felt safe & comfortable. Disgraceful people. This Quality Inn in Colby Kansas is the lowest "quality" place I've ever paid for & nothing like other Choice Hotels properties. Booked a room while driving to Colorado because snow there made it unsafe to drive all the way there. Found the hotel online with search terms "pool" and "free breakfast," chose it literally because of the nice pool photos on the Choice Hotels website & 3rd party sites currently STILL being advertised. It is actually terrible and I didn't feel safe staying there alone with my 2 young kids. I thought it was the wrong place and maybe closed because of how damaged and empty the exterior is. HOLES in the roof, missing shingles, weeds, broken sign, run down, no cars in the lot. As soon as I walked in to verify it's even open, I see the pool door blocked, it's completely empty. I booked it through Snap travel, called them twice. They told me the hotel had to agree to refund me, the hotel front desk person told me that snap travel had to refund me because they have not received any payment. I was taken advantage of -- false advertising online on all sites and sending me in circles. We were tired and just wanted to relax and swim. My two young kids were in the car, my son crying, all they wanted to do was swim since we couldn't keep driving to Colorado. THEN I later saw all the recent bad reviews about terrible quality, black mold, wet floors, filthy, lies, etc. My mistake trying to drive and also reserve a safe, affordable place for $100 online, trusting what I'm shown in amenities photos. DO NOT TRUST their listing details or photos -- it's a sham. READ RECENT reviews and save your money -- GO ELSEWHERE! I promise you wouldn't let your mom or sister stay there alone with 2 young kids. ** Hey social media team giving the canned replies--don't bother. Read the other recent reviews. Look at my photos. There's dishonest activity taking advantage of people here. Shame on all of you.

On April 3, made reservations via AAA.com while on a cross-country road trip to spend that night. Front desk rep assigned us to a room on the first floor; took our bags in; went into the bathroom and saw black mold on the ceiling. Back to the desk rep who came to the room, observed the mold, went to the adjacent room to see if we could move there and it, too, had mold. Only other option given us was a room on the third floor and no elevator access. We told the rep that we weren't staying and to cancel our reservations. We were told that we needed to cancel with our booking agent and that only the manager could waive the cancellation penalty fee. Went across the street to another hotel. Called AAA and cancelled the reservation. It wasn't until April 20th that the Customer Service Rep was finally able to reach the manager (after at least 3 attempts) who refused to reverse the charge based on their cancellation terms (48 hrs prior to reservation). It's not like we just didn't show up! We didn't stay because the place was uninhabitable! Choice Hotels has been made aware of this situation. I hope they do something to require this franchise owner to either fix it up or burn it down!

Can’t rate any lower. Roof didn’t leak. Car not robbed. Wasn’t noisy until workmen started about 6:15 am. Shower was OK. No bugs. Maybe in another couple years it will be OK, but right now it is under construction and should not be open for guests. You can be sure I didn’t read Trip Advisor review.

Checked to see if rooms were available and several were. Walked in and requested a room, and Dan said what size, we replied it didn't matter. He then said we have queen and king, we said we would take either one. Then he said, we have NO rooms available the hotel rooms were all booked due to a large company reserving rooms. We instantly knew we were being discriminated against as we were a different nationality. Once we found a room at another hotel, I again checked the web site, rooms available. My husband then called, and Dan answered and said yes they had rooms, but he wouldn't reserve over the phone, stated we had to come in so he could see us, and then he would book a room. I hope he goes bankrupt!!!!!
