If you have not been to Colombo before, I highly recommend taking a tour from a tuk tuk driver, they offer tours at the hotels. You can negotiate for 4000 rupees. The front desk was very welcoming and checked us in 3 hours early. They also prepared drinks while we were waiting and took the initiative to help us with our luggage and get on and off the bus. The waiters were very polite.
