SpringHill Suites Colorado Springs Downtown

Downtown Colorado Springs
The Springhill is centrally located with easy driving to GOG, Manitou Springs, and Broadmoor. The are a number of restaurants within walking distance. The staff is courteous, breakfast is free and underground parking is provided ($17 per night ???). The best part is that the Springhill shares an 8th floor restaurant and bar with the Element next door. The bar is outside and faces the mountains at sunset. Beautiful view and worth seeing even if you are not a hotel guest

Our stay at this property was a mixed bag. The person at check in was delightful, but with their systems down, there was a bunch of physical paperwork to be filled out. No biggie... it happens. The room was pleasing aesthetically and clean. But the layout is so bizarre, with lots of sharp angle walls that create many tight spots. It's such an odd layout... my wife and I kept tripping over one another, even though the square footage is not insignificant. The bed was not particularly comfortable. The location is great if you need airport convenience. But be careful getting to the hotel. In an email just prior to arrival, they suggested that a taxi ride is $10. But we took one of the taxis at the middle island, and it cost us $30. Do yourself a favor and use one of the rideshare services.

I love this hotel for a variety of reasons. The rooms are always clean, fresh and well designed. The staff is friendly and effective. The location is fantastic! I like to come here with my two young boys because the pool is kind of perfect both in cleanliness and size. You can park and not have to drive for days. Right across the parking lot there is a Baskin Robbins, a gastropub, a fuzzy's and much more. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is within half an hour of here as are many other wonderful colorado springs attractions. That they recently decided to charge for parking is my only complaint.
