Best Places to Stay Near Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion in Comarca De Haro

This was a wonderful overnight stay in the Rioja region on our travels through northern Spain. On arrival the reception staff were efficient and friendly, and able to sort out some secure parking around the corner from the hotel premises. Our very comfortable bedroom was more like a small apar**ent with a hall, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The ground floor dining rooms, bar, lounge, and foyer areas have maintained the ambiance of a grand old building, but with a touch of luxury. We took the half board package enabling us to enjoy a superb dinner in the fine dining restaurant where there is an extensive choice on the menu. I can recommend the potato and chorizo stew starter, the duck as mains, and the pear and almond waffle as a dessert. The morning breakfast provided the usual good selection expected in a high standard hotel. This parador (there is another in the town) is located in the heart of this small historic town in the plaza adjacent to the main church. We arrived on a Saturday and were fortunate to enjoy watching the excitement of a wedding taking place from immediately outside the hotel. A very enjoyable stay.

In the heart of LaGuardia, this was our favorite hotel on our trip thru La Rioja. Cleanliness, attention to detail, welcoming & friendliness made this stay an excellent experience. The room was very spacious & clean! The dining experience excellent both for breakfast & dinner. Our meals were well prepared and exactly how we ordered it. Definitely a place for us to revisit! The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable. The hotel is a very good restaurant, and we have a good restaurant, and we have a good restaurant. We were able to ask for the letter and let us be released that the kitchen doesn't work, having said before we were going to bite something, indicating where we could sit for it. One person asked for a sandwich, and his answer was that they couldn't do it; we asked for an Iberian secret, and that was not. So we asked what they could prepare, and they answered that we asked and told us. Where was the hidden camera? We continue to ask some cups, cheese potatoes and a mixture salad ... The potatoes were brought with cheese cheese, and as at half an hour they come, and that potatoes to the riojana will not be possible, that we have to change the dish, so it is changed by a pist with frite egg ... We seemed to have luck with the dish!!! Total, that ... bringing to drops and without order, the dishes, to each worse, We decided to pay and go without drinking any posters or coffees, nor anything.

We had wanted to stay here for a number of years, after it was so highly recommended by a friend. We had also planned and cancelled trips to the region twice, due to Covid and other plans getting in the way. We stayed here for 5 nights using Marriott points and it was nothing short of spectacular and awesome in every way! From the point we drove up the drive to the front door, to the time we left, the service and staff were always helpful and friendly and followed through on everything we asked them for or to do. We got upgraded from a Spa Terrace room to a main building Gehry room with an Elciego view, and although we lost the terrace, the room was amazing, spacious and comfortable. And being in the main building was very convenient. We had a rental car and self-parked, which was easy and convenient, right in the vineyard, between the spa building and the main building. We used the de Riscal as our base to explore and enjoy the Rioja wine region, taking a full day wine tour, going to Haro, Laguardia and Logrono, driving up to the mountains and just enjoying the deck at the de Riscal wine bar, as the weather was nice the entire time we were there! We also did the de Riscal winery tour, which is included in your hotel stay, and having been on many winery tours in Napa, Sonoma, France, Germany and now Spain, it is a very nice tour with very good wines for tasting, along with a nice tasting accompaniment afterwords! It seemed like hotel guests get a little smaller tour and more private tasting, but that could just be the day and time we did ours. Although I had not heard of their wines - like many Spanish wines - the operation is very large, even by U.S. standards. It's a very popular stop apparently, as even on Easter Sunday they had folks doing the tour by the busloads! We were celebrating a couple of occasions on this trip, and the meal at the Restaurant Gastronomic, the hotel's one star Michelin restaurant, was very much worth it. The food was all very good and well done, and the service was as expected in a starred Michelin restaurant. They made our celebration very special! As Titanium members, the breakfast in the 1860 ”Traditional” restaurant was included, and it was also very good! They had a buffet as well as a few items you could order every morning, with a special. We ate dinner in the Traditional twice, as we usually ended the day there rather than have dinner elsewhere in Rioja and drive back to the hotel. Again, the wine bar deck was good, and we had light snacks/pintxos there a couple of days and just enjoyed the weather and the view! The one drawback to the incredible location is that there are really no other places to eat that are close; you can walk into Elciego but the places there are nothing special. The upside is that the 3 choices at the hotel are all very good, depending on how much you want to spend! I used the gym twice during our stay, and while not large, it's decent sized with plenty of equipment.

A lovely hotel, located 10 minutes walk away from the centre of Laguardia. We booked a superior room over looking the wine fields. The bed was massive and the morning views were tremendous. We booked breakfast one morning to see what it was like, it was ok and priced at €14 pp. The only down side was, if you didn't book a breakfast you had no access for a morning coffee until after the breakfast was served at 10.30am. There were no coffee making facilities in the room. The pool was very relaxing and exceptionally clean. We ate lunch at the hotel one of the days and both thoroughly enjoyed, which was reasonably priced also. Would highly recommend this hotel when visiting the Rioja wine region.

En Santo Domingo de la Calzada, el trato ha sido de una exquisitez superior y el marco, ya de por si incomparable tanto de la ciudad como de ambos paradores, acentúa un mayor disfrute de la estancia y alojamiento en ellos. Encantando y enamorado he quedado, con ganas de repetir algún día.
